Jenny is a miracle worker. I've had chronic upper back pain for decades and have done every imaginable therapy including, shots, a nerve ablation, acupuncture, PT, meds, etc., etc., with virtually no relief. After one session with Jenny, I was pain-free for a week. I booked a second session and got extended results. Please note that what Jenny did for me was NOT a massage. There is not a rating high enough for Jenny Wiersma's body work. She has a next-level understanding of the body, skeleton, musculature, and posture. But this is not the massage for everyone. If you are looking for a resort style gentle massage for falling asleep, that's not this. Work with Jenny is legitimate healing and breaking up stubborn clogs can be uncomfortable. I've thought about why she is so exceptional and will try to organize those thoughts. Strength: when you work with a deep tissue or trigger point person, they invest a lot of energy and power and focus. Jenny is very strong and seemingly untiring. Insight: we all use our bodies as we journey along and we lose objectivity about how a slouch, a longtime injury, a traumatic experience alters our posture and gait and bearing. Jenny works from where I am as a client and finds the areas where there are clumps of muscle or tissue that is no longer stretched to its natural position. I have learned of "knots" in my neck, back, glute that were never before revealed -- even though I have made a very regular habit of monthly/bimonthly massage or stretch therapy for over 15 years. I've worked with a lot of excellent massage therapists. But Jenny is doing something more structural, more specific -- like surgical precision rather than blunt force. She finds shortened muscles and coaxes them to a healthier, activated and more nimble length. What that means for posture and pain is: fundamental transformation of how I carry my body through the day. Soul: often a person with high technical skills does not have the same interpersonal charisma of a gentler, nurturing-style healer. Weirdly, Jenny has that sort of healing energy and deep humanity which might typically be associated with a "flakier" person -- one who may burn patchouli at a new moon ceremony. There is a generous openness about her that's pragmatic but also uplifting. Value: this is a healer unlike any I have ever known. She cannot take many clients but if you can get on her schedule and give your body a chance to feel better and stand with presence, that is what she does. Her rates are well within the normal range for a talented massage therapist, but I can honestly say that every dollar I have spent working with Jenny is the best money I have ever spent on self-care. I feel tremendous luck that I found Jenny Wiersma, and that I kept trying until I got an appointment. Jenny is an amazing deep myofascial massage therapist! As a sports medicine physician, I am familiar with many types of massage therapy as well as physical therapy techniques. I personally have had massages from over 15 different massage therapists. I give my highest recommendation to Jen. She has an exceptional ability to understand and see the body in three dimensions and work on the whole body to release tension, decrease painful trigger points and tight fascia and muscle spasm, and correct long existing imbalances from contracted muscles. Her deep work is not at all like a relaxing superficial stroking massage ( which in my experience does not alleviate or correct any of the painful or tight areas and is not even felt as a benefit 12 to 24 hours later ) Her work Has the effect of actually releasing realigning and correctly positioning, body parts that have been in pain or harmed by contractures or spasm. From the first treatment I had with her I knew she was an exceptional massage therapist above any others I had experienced.her technique is very demanding on her and she has used a variety of techniques to help me with some very chronic and debilitating problems. She looks at the whole body, not just one part and works to treat and help the whole body by stretching, deeply releasing and then realigning tissues and , putting tight areas into the correct location. The effects of her whole body massage do last for many many days and weeks and suffice to have a total body, realignment and rejuvenation and relief of very painful parts of the body . If you have a job working normal business hours, you are, unfortunately, precluded from getting work done by Jenny as appointments are only available Mon-Fri 10am to 4pm, with no flexibility. This may be a great massage - IF you are retired or a stay at home parent. But As a "regular" working person who badly needs body work, the experience was only disappointing. If you need scheduling flexibility, look elsewhere right off the bat - no point in even reaching out about it. read more

I have been seeing Jenny for several months now. I even followed her for the place she was to har new place. She is great to work with, pays attention to the areas you neeed to have worked and can go as deep as you need or a soft and fluff massage that will have you asleep and snoring in under 5 mins. She is flexable with her hours and her current price structure can not be beat. There are a number of therepist closer to me or will come to my office, but she is worth travelling to. I can't really say enough about my experience with Jenny. I've been going to Jenny now for about 4 months. I did get other massages in the area but they were either too rough or too soft. Jenny's massage was just right. At first, she had spa music on -- but I asked her if she could use different music and she happily obliged. I was getting frequent headaches and thought that a weekly massage would help me. While I really enjoyed the deep tissue massage, the headaches kept coming. Jenny kept telling me to be patient and let the massages work. She said it would take some time. Well I am proud to report that after 4 months of weekly deep tissue massages, Jenny was right! Damn you Delray! Why do I have to travel all the way from Manhattan to Florida to get the best damn massage of my life! Jenny's hands (strong and amazing) should be certified and insured. My body was in a pretzel from a 5 day road trip and when I left Jenny I felt like a new person.I would say, the earth shook during my massage.
