Driving from Pittsburgh back home to D.C., we saw signs along the major road promoting Jenny's Market. They got us and directed us to a farm fresh stand with all the fixings. Run by a kind couple, they sell produce from local farmers and makers. They have produce from tomatoes to sweet corn to raspberries. There are massive jars of honey, firewood, jams, and goose eggs. They also sell flowers for your garden. Do not sleep on the homemade lemonade. It's the best I've had! read more

Love this market. It's cute, it's quaint. The ride up 32 is pretty quick and they have the best signs along the highway advertising the market!and directing you to them. The signs are pretty comical actually. The set up is very organized and the inventory is of good quality. The family is super sweet and they have a ton of parking directly across. They sell fruit, veggies, flowers, honey & baked goods. I come for the honey because I farmers market hop. If you are in the area, even if you aren't, go here. This market is A-OK. Though they have acreage crops are bought from farms and other businesses and sold here. The stuff coming directly off a farm is fresher but this stuff is fresher than many large grocery chains. Though it's OK we are unlikely to make a special trip to this place. They are open through the end of October, take credit cards, and parking is easy. read more

Wow! Such a nice place to stop for some fresh veggies, perfectly ripe fruit, and a nice loaf of pound cake! If you're lucky you might even have a few minutes of neighborly conversation with the family that runs this farm stand. I stopped at Jenny's Market for the same reason that so many others have done- small white signs placed along the roadside going north and south on rt 32. They are a nostalgic reminder of times gone by and I know that they do a great job (based on other reviews!) of reeling new customers into the market. I needed nothing, but love fresh produce, so kept myself open and just hoped for more than one or two different choices. Sure enough, the series of tents had both a variety of fruits and vegetables and a variety of choices in each type. I ended up going home with two types of tomatoes, some peppers, eggplant, pound cake, and home made hot sauce. It fed us well for the next few days- particularly the pound cake, which was delicious when sliced and toasted for breakfast the next day. My only issue with Jenny's Market is the lack of listed prices. I racked up quite a bill by the time I'd finished my shopping. I don't know that I'd have left anything behind, but it would have helped to know how much I'd be removing from my wallet. I hesitate ton give them a full five stars because of this issue and I urge you to ask as you shop. read more

The fun signs along the highway made us take a quick detour to get some produce and delicious, cold fresh lemonade that really hit the spot. Everybody that works there was super nice, and I saw them inspecting the watermelons before picking a good one to bring to the car. It was well set up and perfect for COVID times with a line that moved quickly. This place does some amazing advertising. I feel like I'm traveling to the beach, when I go to Jenny's. You know how there are those signs along the road that say Watermelons, Strawberries, Corn and already; you're salivating in anticipation of the market ahead, with hopefully beautifully arranged hanging floral baskets, homemade jams, pickles and of course, stack of fruits and veggies. This place has that; it's feast for the eyes; it's everything you're wanting and much more. But then you inquire on about the price and are immediately taken back - Jenny's charges twice as much as any market I've ever been to. I felt fooled, after noticing these prices. read more

Jenny's is right off Rt.29 and has a beautiful display of fresh veggies, fruit, mums, fall veggies and yes.....fresh lime beans....one of my summer favorites. She supports local farmers and growers! That cuts down the carbon foot steps on our planet. It's also nice to stop by and meet so many family members. True family business is still alive, and everyone so friendly. This was a little farm stand off the beaten path, but they had a good selection of seasonal produce including apples, pears, squashed, corn, etc. whatever is in season you're sure to find. They also had mums and pumpkins for sale. It seemed to be family run and the staff was friendly and helpful. The kind of family farm stand that you don't see too often in this day and age or in suburban MD. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the vicinity. read more

This is a special business in Howard County. It's family-run and it's quality produce and homemade treats. Grandma's soup bases like Maryland crab or her award winning salsas are phenomenal. They source good quality produce and try to carry local produce when it's available. If you're driving on route 32 between I-70 and Clarksville you're sure to see their small signs out along the roadway. Take a moment to stop, shop and chat. You'll be glad you did and you'll be reminded that the small business in America is often a better way to go than national chain stores! read more

Just shopped here today. All of the produce was bought from the local supermarket. I know because the sticker was still on the produce saying "product of Mexico" and "product of America". Not local produce. Just bought from the grocery store then sold at a premium cost. BUY OR BEWARE!! read more

TOMATOES, PEACHES AND PLUMS -- OH MY!!! Last year my girlfriend and I stopped because of the signs on 32 man was it worth. I couldn't stop thinking about the fruit and produce we purchased. This year, it was a destination. Neither my girl friend nor I could remember the name, but we remembered the signs. So I decided to try to find it. After talking my son into coming with me, we left DC hopeful. After getting to 32, I told my son to keep his eyes near the ground, and sure enough we both saw the first sign at the same time "Your wife called", each sign had a bit more of the sentence. Well the joy I felt when I found the place was like a kid waking up Christmas morning. To say it was worth the trip is a huge understatement. I made my purchases (the customer service is incredible) and left. Well half way back to DC, I decided I couldn't wait so I decided to bit into a peach, and was instantly taken back to my childhood in Georgia eating peaches right from the tree in our back yard. I pulled off at the next exit and went right back to by more containers peaches, I just had to share this with my sisters and I knew they weren't getting any out of what I had. And why I was there the second time, "grandpa" was sharing samples of cantaloupe. OMG, you guessed it, I got those too. My sister and I have already made plans to go back on her next weekend off. I can hardly wait. This trip was for fruit, next trip, everything. No more supermarket produce for me. read more

I stumbled on this find via a cluster of handmade signs on rt 32. With the promise of fresh yellow watermelon, I took a quick detour to discover a beautiful selection of some of the freshest, prettiest, and tastiest fruits and vegetables I have ever seen. Everything was fresh and ripe and delicious; my mouth still waters just thinking about the nectarines I bough there. There is a huge difference between fruit green-picked to ripen on its way to the supermarket, and fresh fruit picked ripe and sold that day, and Jenny's is the real deal. The staff was helpful and friendly, the price was good, and the fruit was amazing. It's a little off the road, but not hard to find and plenty of parking. Credit cards are welcome. read more

Very nice presentation of produce. Nice tomatoes, nice local peaches. The advantage of Jenny's right now is location. The season's early and most of the produce is from the main produce market like other grocers. I sold produce for 16 years earlier in my life. What I object to is having my shopping experience controlled. I'm afraid Jenny is a controlling business woman -- every one gets their share of bad peaches -- no choosing your own. The peaches were taken from my hand so that the 10 cent carton would remain for display. The bag was placed around my hand with a tomato in it before I could say I didn't want the bag. My card was swiped on a phone app before i could say I wanted a receipt when a receipt producing unit was nearby (and the card wouldn't swipe on the app - so my card became "old"). Believe me, I like the idea of a local market. I worked in a co-op in Bethesda for 16 years. Connect with the person, find out what they want if you can and serve them. Manipulating the customer experience is not the way to bring people back. read more
