Christopher came over and installed an exterior gate, re-grouted part of a shower, caulked a difficult to reach tub and took down a bunch of old painter's tape. Even though the instructions were followed on the gate, the gate install was wobbly (the factory provided concrete screws were too small). Christopher came back with his own screws to stabilize the fence and added an anchor to the top, which did the trick! Because of their great work on the first project, I had them come back and install two new garage door openers and an exterior light fixture. Garage door openers can be tricky to properly install and balance, but the job turned out great, including the programming multiple remotes and keypads. I was asked about my preferences for what buttons I wanted on the various remotes. The exterior light looks and works perfectly. Overall, I'd highly recommend Gonzalez Handyman Services. They even swept out my garage before leaving!

Well not 3 months later in June 2016 during the first thunderstorm half of the roof is blown off - (mind you nobody else's home was damaged anywhere near ours). I contacted Bobby and Clint, Bobby came out the next morning and stated it was due to the storm and because the soffits had not been completely replaced. He then put plywood decking over the exposed area and tarped it, well that very same night the decking and tarp started to blow off the roof. We quickly noticed that the decking was not nailed to the studs!! My husband and son were securing the decking during the storm that had been put on that morning! As we kept looking we saw more and more nails that were never in the studs, we obtained a snake camera to look at the remaining part of the roof and found the same thing! I spoke with Clint about this and he passed it on to his father, who is the owner, Bobby O'Hara. Bobby's response was "it is okay because the weight of the shingles will keep it in place". Apparently not, we had independent adjustors and other roofing companies come and evaluate the roof and all said it was not secured properly. When we hired the other company to fix the roof our camera findings were confirmed. On the shingled part of the roof that had not been removed during the storm - we were able to lift up the decking - nothing but shingles were holding it down!!! REO construction and roofing has not accepted any responsibility for their failure to properly secure and install this roof. We paid them 5k for what they state on their website will be a safe and secure roof - with a 10 year warranty due to workmanship! Do not use this company! Everything looks and sounds great right up till the wind blows! They will not honor their warranty or accept responsibility for their actions. Thankfully nobody in our home was hurt when this happened as we were home and my children were in the room that received the brunt of the damage.

But I will say that Ricky with Lanes Contracting and his crew are superior at what they do and they stand by their work you can turn your back and go about your business and trust that when you turn back around you'll be amazed. In June 2019, these folks did some fairly major renovations to my home. The quality of their work was excellent in all respects. They did what they said they would do, and they did it on time and on budget. So why am I writing these comments now, more than a year after the job was completed? I called Pat Skelton, the new owner of Williams Home Center, and explained that I needed his help again. After describing the leak situation to him, his reply was immediate: "We'll take care of that," and they did--promptly--and at no cost to me. I fully expected to pay for this repair as Williams Home Center had already done their work more than a year earlier. Went and looked at the unit and within a few minutes he came back and said it needed a certain part which was right at $400. He replaced the part and went on his way. It wasn't cooling still and I texted him Sunday. He told me it was doing all it could do. He did text me later and after I told him the temperature in the house he said he would come look at it again. Only took a few minutes to say the unit needed to be replaced. When he found out I was getting a second opinion his attitude changed. Come to find out the coil needed to be cleaned out and it needed freon. So it costed a total of $555 for a part and service fee that now I am not sure it was even needed. When I tried to leave a review on his business website it was magically deleted.
