Jerry's Barber Shop is a neighborhood institution. I've been going there since I moved back into the neighborhood from Brooklyn in 2005. Jerry and Luis are two of the most, warm, welcoming people I have ever known, and Jerry's Barber Shop is the only shop I've ever been to in my life where I will sit in whatever chair is empty, because I know that no matter which man cuts my hair, it will look great. Jerry and Luis are excellent barbers and gentlemen, but above all things they are both good men. In all my years of going to Jerry's, I have never seen them be unpleasant to anyone that didn't speak to them in an aggressive or disrespectful way first. Any negative reviews you see are most likely from people that either are confused and thinking about the wrong place, or from people that walked into the shop with some kind of inconsiderate attitude and are bitter because it was not tolerated. Most people will come in for a haircut, and end up staying longer than they planned to, because they get caught up in a conversation about sports, movies, TV, or current events. Jerry and Luis make every effort to accommodate their loyal customers and new customers equally, and their professionalism and service are top-notch. I love this barber shop. I had just gotten my hair butchered by Caroline's (a salon down the street) and this shop saved me. I ended up shaving it all off and it was a great decision the barber made me look great. I moved to the area 2-3 months ago and needed a haircut for the first time a few weeks ago. I went to Jerry's on the strength of its great Yelp reviews and was very happy with that choice! I don't usually talk to the barbers when I get my hair cut because I'm a quiet guy, but Jerry got me talking and was in general a really friendly guy and very easy to talk to. The service was also incredibly fast -- I think I was in and out in about 15 minutes, including the 2 or so minutes I waited until he was ready for me. Part of that was because he didn't dry my hair after cutting it (i.e., didn't use a blow dryer to get extra hair clippings off my head), but that is a trade-off I will gladly make every time if it means speedy service, cheap price, and a friendly barber. Oh yeah, and the quality of the haircut was great! That's really the most important thing, isn't it?! I'll definitely be making Jerry's my regular spot. read more

Had my first cut there this afternoon just as it began to snow; walked in, was welcomed by both Jerry and Luis. Laughed, enjoyed their banter. I got one of the best haircuts I ever had, by Luis. Total professional, always asked me what I wanted, or if I liked something before he went further. The shop is the new one -- I think some bad reviews here are thinking about the old shop, which was a couple of doors down. This new shop of Jerry's just opened a couple of months ago. The guys know their stuff. Everything is easy; everyone who came in, they knew by name. Everyone welcome. And the price I got for a great first cut was unbelievable -- I gave a good tip. Even with the tip, the price was the best I ever paid for a great haircut. They have my business from now on. read more

Such a rude and arrogant staff, literally treats costumers like shit and they are terrible at cutting hair. If they were at least a little bit better at cutting hair it would be manageable to deal with such assholes but the talent is simply not there. read more

I've been going here 9 years and have never had a bad cut. I'm an Italian from Bensonhurst, so I'm very particular about who touches my hair. Jerry and Luis are some of finest barbers I've ever used. They know exactly what I want and pay close attention to detail to make sure their customers are happy. I came in for a cut, and I haven't left. Jerry's is very much your old school shop. He is a friendly guy, affordable and does an excellent job with cuts. I trust him with my hair. Beyond that, it isn't uncommon for the shop to be open during the playoffs, with a good collegial, atmosphere for neighborhood guys to enjoy the game.... read more

These guys are amazing! Called the shop to make a reservation for a cut but unfortunately they only do walk-ins. Jerry and Luis are both very energetic and very friendly when you come into their shop. Once you step in they acknowledge you and talk stories with you. They aren't those kind of guys who just sit you down and cut your hair without paying any kind of attention to you, which makes the whole experience quite boring. Their skills on cutting hair is superb. They ask you what kind of cut you want and if there might be any kind of problems with the style you want, theyll let you know right away. Owner Jerry and his colleague Luis are very personable fellows. Clearly both know what they are doing when it comes to barbering, but they do not hesitate to ask the customer what they are looking for in a haircut. Easy to see that it is a successful business because of the variety of clientele that come to the shop. Prices are reasonable also. Been going to these guys since they opened. If I ever move from the neighborhood, I'll have to travel back just for my hair cuts. They're really good guys, personable, friendly, and outgoing. About the only complaint I can make is that they don't have a bar in the store. read more
