I saw Karen regularly for general well being about 12 years ago. Karen attended to my menstrual cycle in a fashion that changed my life from then until menopause and perhaps beyond, but her treatment changed my period profoundly. She eliminated diarrhea and digestive discomfort that I associated linearly with my period and thought was a normal symptom. I counsel all women (particularly young women) with negative associations with their period to engage in a course of acupuncture because of my incredible lifetime improvement from working with Karen. She is also incredibly kind and thoughtful, with a gentle precise touch and deep professionalism. So - if you have anything but a bright red predictable menstrual flow with no associated discomfort, I would recommend seeing Karen. I can already tell: Karen is a skilled and sensitive practitioner. She knows her stuff. I have a condition that is not yet managed well and acupuncture appears to be the most complementary and effective treatment to address pain that is not being controlled in any other way (no narcotics here). Karen has successfully tapped into the system that is causing me pain (by placing needles in certain places that activate pain in other areas), and providing supports that I can continue to activate for pain relief past the office visit. Her office is comforting, many decisions in the space are there to support healing. She was able to treat me in a chair when my condition didn't allow me to lay down. I trust her to use acupuncture to its full potential. I will try to remember to post an update as I continue, but it's tremendously clear to me that if you're looking for an acupuncturist in the area for treatment you already know helps or are needing help with something you think might be helped by acupuncture, go see her.
