Doug BAILED on me at 5am the morning of my wedding!! You read that right, I got a text at 5am the…read moremorning of my wedding saying he was 'sick and didn't think he had enough energy to shoot my wedding'. Promised me an excellent replacement was being sent in his place. This 'photographer' didn't even know which way was up, never mind how to pose and execute beautiful photos. He verbally insulted my guests when by stating 'don't any of you know how to pose??', which several of my guests were appalled to hear and approached me about. He addressed me with, 'oh i heard you don't like to smile'. Excuse me?? I was asked by pretty much every guest if my photographer was a 'drunk family member with a camera?', he was found socializing at the dinner tables or out having a smoke when he should have been taking photos of the reception...the list goes on and on. All of which was brushed off by Doug when I complained the very next day; basically called me a liar, told me that 'it doesn't really matter, now', refused to address my complaints except to defend his colleague, refused to accept responsibility for the fact that the 'professional' he sent to my wedding didn't know what he was doing and as a result, I have permanently lost out of irreplaceable wedding day photos. That day can NOT be recreated. I will never have an opportunity to capture what Doug was supposed to capture and he does not care. We have received our photos back and to be exact, there are a total of 5 photos that are usable and keep-able. 5!!! A large portion of the photos we spent almost 2 hours after the ceremony posing for are not even included or have a roadway in them. That's right, the road. I asked that 90% of my photos be candid and was PROMISED that most of them would be... I ended up with one or two candid pics that are usable. My kid could have done a better job with their phone. If I could, I'd give zero stars. I'd give less than zero stars. I'd give negative stars. At this point, all I can do is warn as many people as I can that this is ABSOLUTELY NOT THE PHOTOGRAPHER YOU WANT TO CAPTURE YOUR ONCE IN A LIFETIME MEMORIES. Doug Wolters has extremely poor customer service and people skills, he refuses still to address my concerns and complaints, and continues to brush me off. He is nothing but a snake and you should stay FAR, FAR away. He finally asked me for a phone call, which I indulged, but the only thing he had to say for himself was 'I'm sorry'. He isn't sorry; but he is sorry I wrote this review. ANY other photographer would be better money spent than using DOUG WOLTERS for anything. He is also an officiant and runs the Ancaster Wedding Show. He is a snake no matter what costume he is wearing and I am going to inform as many people as I can as to the kind of photographer he is and the way he treats his clients, warning of the dangers of hiring him for any event. Please - save your memories, save your sanity and save your money. Spend it on an actual professional, who will listen to your requests, make you feel comfortable 100% of the time and will DELIVER ON THEIR PROMISE. Doug Wolters Photography delivered on NONE of these promises, is the furthest thing from 'professional' I've come across in a very long time, and absolutely 100% does NOT put the client first. He WILL tell you how great he is, though. Spoiler Alert: He is not.

Dear reader of this review,…read more Stefan is amazing! The work he does really speaks for itself. My husband and I were a little late in the game when it came to finding a photographer. We wanted someone who could do both photography and videography, and that's when we found Stefan. From the very beginning, he was so kind and such a joy to work with. On our very first Zoom call, we already knew he was the one we wanted. At the time, he was in Germany--it was midnight for him, but 6 PM for us here in the States. Anyone willing to stay up that late just to get to know us is clearly dedicated to their clients! Even though we had already taken our own engagement photos, Stefan offered us a free session with him so we could get comfortable working together before the wedding. I'm so glad he did, because it made our actual wedding day so much easier and more relaxed. On the big day, Stefan and Colin were not only kind but also super attentive. Colin kept checking that we stayed hydrated (it was such a hot day!), and both of them made sure everything we needed was taken care of. Watching them work together was such a treat--they make a great team. So if you're on the fence about booking Stefan for photos or video--just do it! You won't regret it. He was amazing to work with; our meetings with him were fun and put us at ease while also being incredibly informative. Even though we were planning our wedding from out of town, we never had a difficult time getting in touch. Day of, he went above and beyond, traveling with us to a few locations for pictures and walking us through a variety of shots. He even stayed a bit late to make sure he captured everything we wanted when the reception was running behind schedule. He had a few preview photos ready to see before the reception even ended and had all the rest available for us to view in an easily accessible online gallery a few weeks later. His giffy booth was also a hit with our guests. Our photos turned out gorgeous! He has a great eye for the posed shots but was also great at capturing people smiling and having fun naturally, which is exactly what we wanted. I could not recommend anyone more highly.
