Christopher Price came out and looked at our five trees - one of which is laying on an electrical wire, so time is of the essence. We made a plan to eliminate the danger, plus do a full day of trimming and nutrient injections. He seemed to really care about our trees and we were excited to work with him, even though the scope and the quote were beyond what we had initially planned on spending. What followed was three weeks of unfulfilled promises, excuses, and constant prodding on our part to get communication. We're relatively easygoing, but he committed to doing work for us, and then wouldn't send us a contract or set a date so it was super frustrating. As another reviewer said - if you don't have time for us or don't want to work with us, just let us know that so we don't waste our time. Three weeks later, I now have to start the hunt for a vendor all over again. It shouldn't be this hard to find someone who respects a client's time, especially when that client intends to pay you almost $2,000.

EXPERIENCE…read more I didn't want to have to leave this review, but after the owners promised to make it right and then never made good on their promise, I can't stress enough how horrible our experience was with Moore and Smith. They were by a mile the highest quote, and we don't mind paying top dollar for good service, but this was nothing short of disappointing. The company came highly recommended, however they repeatedly dropped the ball on our rental when we needed to have trees removed. They presented a waiver to our tenants stating it was "to cover the property under insurance should anything happen". This was in fact a waiver in case the lawn and or driveway got torn up. I, as the owner of the property was NEVER presented this document, or I would have certainly requested to move the service to another day when the ground was more firm. Lo and behold, the lawn is a demolition derby, the driveway is damaged, and the tenants were picking up trash and debris for days. Not what I would expect for an $8000 service. When I called to get to the root of the problem and express my frustration, I spoke with Megan, who is equally as classless as she is condescending... not sure what swamp they dug her out of, but I've never been spoken to by a more repugnant person. Any company that would have THAT as their customer service person clearly doesn't give a shit about customer service... The owners called me back to apologize for how she spoke to me, which showed class, and promised to return to our rental, smooth out the tracks from the damage, and to reseed the lawn. He also promised to come to our property for free for a service should we need help. They never made good on either promise, and calls to the owner have been unreturned and texts left on read. Needless to say we are disappointed and will never be hiring them again.

I asked them to tell me when is the best time to do this work. They told me whenever I want. There was heavy rain the day they did the work. When they were done I saw a drain sticking up from the dirt, open with no cover. I asked them what is that. They told me I have to buy a cover for it. Fast forward two months later, there are weeds and grass coming through the mulch everywhere. The dirt near the drain is sinking. My neighbors told me I should have hired a landscaper who knew they needed to extend the drain to the curb.

In addition to removing the Elm, there were small Cedars that were removed, along with pruning limbs from other trees. They did a remarkable job!! The price was very reasonable too. Vladimir said before they did the work they would leave the yard just as they found it. That is exactly what was done!! What i wasn't happy about was that they drove and parked their trailer in my yard, which we have so carefully tried to get grass to grow in. I told them they could park in the driveway next to ours as the house wasn't occupied, which I thought they did, but when I came back out again it was in the yard. I figured that it was my fault because I didn't request them to stay off the grass so I let it go. They came back the next day to finish picking up the limbs and I requested a quote on getting some limbs cut from another tree for thinning while they were there. They promptly responded and again said they could do it that day, which was great. I asked if they would be careful with the grass because it was on a different side of the house and I didn't figure they would need to be in the grass anyway. I got home and they were working hard, but there were tire rugs all through my yard (we have a corner lot so there is no possible reason why they would need to drive where they did). Their truck was on the street at that point so the damage was already done and there was nothing I could say. Apparently, they ran over 3 street signs while they were there too (my neighbor was present when it happened). Long story short, they got my taken care of very promptly, the price was reasonable, and they were polite, but I would set expectations at the beginning of what you want regarding boundaries of your yard.
