I cant even begin how much stress this one staff has provided my family. As I was in the middle of a crisis with my car trouble, I asked one of the managers if there is anyway my pooch can have a quick wash. He said, everyone else is busy so he is unable to do this for me. I mean, the tow truck will be there in a second and will have to find an auto shop on a sunday which means will not have a ride back home. I was under so much stress that I just asked him to at least give me an estimate of the time my dog was gonna get done so I can arrange someone to collect him. He still would not give me a time frame due to the busy time. I understand and I really wanted to be considerate but the fact that my car is right in front of their shop, not working at least a bit of a consideration was expected. I asked if my dog has began to be washed because if not, I will just take him home. He immediately took my dog, WET and shaking handed them to me and charged me for the wash! He did not even dry him. I asked if he can at least dry my dog and he said he does not want my business in there! WHAT A FREAKIN ASSH***E! I will never ever bring my dog back to your shop again and I hope you teach this man a lesson! I still paid him since I thought he was going to at least dry my dog but just a complete ass wipe!

Minimal government funding is provided which is unfortunate as the organisation does so much for domestic and wild animals in Australia. They petition for animal rights and are actively involved in campaigns within Australia and abroad. The RSPCA's Sydney rescue centre is located at Yagoona. While it may be considered a trek for some, it is well worth the visit if you are looking for a dog, cat, rabbit, or even a horse! As an animal activist myself, I have adopted three animals from the RSPCA over the last 21 years and absolutely adore them! They all have had a funny character, personable and friendly nature and a love of family. Last year I adopted a cat from the RSPCA. I had been looking at their adoption site online and could search all the cats and kittens which were available for adoption in the Sydney region. I found a beautiful cat, but it was located in the Snowy Mountains. Despite this small setback, the RSPCA relocated her to their Sydney centre free of charge and I was able to adopt her within a few weeks! Adoption fees cost around $200 and include everything from vaccinations to the cost of purchasing the animal. The staff at Yagoona are all very friendly and have the best interests of the animals in mind. Ensuring a suitable match between owner and pet is a priority for them. There is even an RSPCA hospital located on site which is convenient for those who live close by. All the pets at the RSPCA are extra cute; we almost came back with a dog in an addition to a cat. Please keep in mind, if you are not in for the long haul, do not consider buying a pet. The Adopt A Pet link: http://www.rspcansw.org.au/get_involved/adoptapet Please also note that the RSPCA centre is closed between 12-1:30pm each day from Monday to Friday.

Bows for the girls and scarves for the boys are included (super cute). They are really accommodating with drop-off and pick-up times around work schedules etc. They let the dogs mingle (clean on one side of the counter and dirty on the other, very courteous!) so if your dog is a trouble maker you might want to let them know. They have one strict rule and that is NO FLEAS! So make sure you get the frontline on your pups well ahead of their appointment. Can't recommend these guys enough. We arrived before they'd opened, but David invited us in anyhow and (after asking about allergies) started feeding Coco treats. BFFs 4 lyfe. I filled in some paperwork and then took myself off to nearby cafe Gather on the Green for a takeaway chai while I read in the park. David very kindly rang to let me know when Coco was ready to be collected. The store is designed so that there's a gated enclosed area that allows the dogs to sit on a bench seat in the shopfront window, so the first thing I saw when I walked up was Coco staring out at me and going bananas. David gave me her report card (and I'd like to take a photo of it and post it here as it's adorable but I left it in my housemate's car) - gold stars all the way! and he'd even written a very sweet message about finding her forever home and gave her a gift bag of chewy boney things. My emotions were very surface-y and he was really very kind and helped me pick out a toy from the huge selection to keep her occupied. These guys also run a group doggy day care if you need your dog looked after while you're at work or whatever - I wish I'd had the wherewithal to take advantage of it because I have no doubt that any dog would have a good time and be well looked after there. (The Facebook pics from the sessions are super cute.) Coco was happy to see me in a I've-been-having-the-best-time-and-I'm-so-glad-you're-here! kind of way. Unrelated to this review, on our walk home we went via the old Darlington school in the grounds of Sydney Uni and Coco realised a two-month-long dream when she managed to jump into the swampy moat part and thus destroyed all of David's hard work grooming her.
