When I got it apart and fixed the alignment problem with the drive cables that caused it to fail in the first place, I was left with a cast aluminum strut piece about the size of a childs forearm that was broken in two pieces. Porsche wouldn't sell just the part, but offered the larger assembly for $1800. None to be found on ebay, because "yeah, they do this". So off to talk to Glen Kirby at Warren Welding. I am a hobby welder, so I know enough to know that this was a long shot. This is a cast piece, that's hard. It's a Porsche part, so it's probably some voodoo Teutonic unobtanium alloy that costs 11ty million dollars a pound just to get a 2% lower weight. And I'm sure they won't tell you what it is. It's a Porsche part, so if it's a little bit wrong, its probably all wrong. And it was basically ripped in two, so who knows what "right" was, and it was a complex set of compound curves. Because designing a straight one would just show weakness (eye roll). Glen looked at it, said he will try, and called me back in two days to pick it up. It was genuinely a beautiful repair, it worked perfectly, and the price was... well... embarrassingly fair for obvious craftsmanship. Highly, highly recommended.

I have texted and contacted by calling 3 to 4 times. Was told each time that someone would get in touch with me. It is now four days later and I can't even get them to tell me someone will come look at the gate to see what needs to be fixed. No one is returning our calls or texts. I asked Bobby if he installs doors--he said yes He gave me a price which was $1500 He wanted $750 up front which i gave him (big mistake) He never did give me a date or time he would start I called him-- set a date still thinking positive He arrived with two other workers They removed the doors Bobby took them and never came back the guy s were working and I assumed it was going well By the way they arrived at 12 noon Dereck appeared to be the head worker he was telling they were going to Hueston woods for bobbys daughters bday Anyway they were getting ready to leave around 2:30 - 3:30 I had forgotten to get door handles which Lowes isn't far But they were leaving they didnt clean up They took one of the screen doors to the garage That was very disturbing for me I was going to install door handles Anyway Dereck came back the next day He got to working around 9:30 I just assumed it was going well But at around 10:40 he said he had to meet his wife and then was going to Lowes for supplies he would be back in 20 min it turned into an hour and ahalf During that time i started looking at the work It was not good!!!! It became very clear that he was not a door installer Nothing lined up right And Bobby still has not come by to see how it was going Eventually i told Derek he could go Derek is a nice guy but i dont think he had much experience installing doors I had read earlier today that he Warranties his work and guarantees it and the customer satisfaction is the most important part of his company He might say that but he has shown NO customer service to me He charged me 1500 dollars for about 5 hours work and very poor work

I called their office this morning (5/2/23) and was told that they could send someone out "NEXT WEEK" . Apparently Simpson Fence is not interested or could care less......CERTAINLY NO PROFESSIONALISM !!! My advise is for folks needing fencing repair/installment is to seek elsewhere for a dependable and reliable company besides SIMPSON FENCE in Middletown, Ohio. I stopped by Simpson Fence Co on Monday June 3rd to request a quote for 84' feet of fencing and 2 estate gates with gate operators on my semi-circular driveway. I have called back to Simpson Fence no less than 3 times and it is obvious that nobody wants our business... Very puzzling considering this is probably a $15k-$18k job in a down economy. The apathetic attitude of the staff was mind boggling. Try as I might, I was unable to motivate anyone at Simpson Fence to sell me a fencing job. We're looking elsewhere but SOMEBODY ELSE is going to get paid on this job.
