They suggested an air filter change as it was dirty. I said go ahead. Should have priced it first but that is my issue. Upon picking up the vehicle the total was now $171.29!! That means the air filter and labour to install was $102.61! I was a but shocked at the time but paid the bill. After researching online with prices I called them back to report my displeasure with the amount. They were not impressed and simply claimed that it was normal amount for what they did.

I haven't looked back since then. I've gone back several times now, and the guys at Trotters are exceptional at explaining the how's and why's of what they're doing to your vehicle. They're extremely transparent (I've admittedly gone back and done a bit of research the first few times they told me what they were fixing in my vehicle, and it always lines up) and professional. I dropped my vehicle off for a tire change and alignment. I was told that it would take 2 hours to complete. I returned 3 hours later to find out that my vehicle was sitting in the parking lot and my winter tires had not been installed. The technician had left the facility and my keys could not be found. After 15 minutes of cluelessness someone found my keys! I received no phone call or notification that only half of the work had been completed. This business does not care about the value of your time, cannot communicate, and is completely disorganized. This is the definition of gross incompetence. After 2 weeks of waiting for this appointment this is the type of service you receive. I will never be back! I have made it clear to friends and colleagues who are patrons of this organization, to avoid this place or run the risk of a similar outcome. Customer Beware! I have never seen a procedure as simple as a tire change so poorly mismanaged.

I took my 2008 Lexus RX350 that had recently passed safety by two different mechanics. I had a…read morenoise coming from the rear passenger side. I took it into Total Auto Service for repair. Their mechanic diagnosed the noise as two faulty struts and two faulty rear sway bar links. For $1300 they replaced the parts and the exact same problem was there. All they did was replace parts in hopes it fixed the problem. When they said there was still a noise they were right. It was the same noise when k brought it in. I took it into another mechanic and they diagnosed it as axles and wheel bearing hubs. When I contacted them, I received excuse after excuse and you could tell from the outset they are the type of business where they throw parts at problems and hope it fixes the issue. They also were completely unprofessional as even through you had proof of the mistake and misdiagnosis they had no intentions of making the situation right. There attitude is such that they could care less about mistakes. In fact, when cornered with evidence of the mistake they pulled the harassment card. Apparently complaining about a mistake constitutes harassment. They also mentioned the mechanic was on "sick leave". This may be true but how convenient! If you want a mechanic that stands by their mechanics and their work than buyer beware. Fortunately I am pursuing other options to get my money back and file associated complaints with regulatory authorities. It has now become more a point of the matter. Never do business with a company not willing to resolve a matter.

Went for a local appointment and walked by Eccles 2 hours later -- my car was still in the same spot I left it. Went home, called four hours after I'd left my car there for an update as I hadn't heard anything. They hadn't looked at it yet and didn't know "where it is in the lineup." ??? Isn't the point of having a 9:30 appointment that it is in the 9:30 slot? Isn't that what anyone would expect for an appointment anywhere? Would anyone who works at Eccles be ok with this themselves -- dinner reservations, dentists, doctors, haircuts, anything? You show up at 9:30, hang around until 1:30, ask them when you'll be seen and they tell you they don't know where you are in the lineup? No. I told them in that case I would come pick up my car and take it to the dealership. Did so. Got there and got my keys and the lady said, "I'm sorry, I was hoping I could get it looked at today, but we only have two a/c techs." WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU OFFERING A SERVICE THAT YOU CAN'T DO? If you can't do it, don't make us go through the effort of time off work to bring it in only for you to hold the car hostage because you aren't actually able to fill the service that day. How long would it have been sitting in that lot, waiting just for someone to look at it and figure out what's wrong? Never again. Never ever ever taking a car of mine to Eccles ever again.

We then called Midas on Hespeler in Cambridge, they were able to take us in right away, even though they were also busy. They were able to order a new tire have it delivered and put onto our car within 1 hour and a half!! They are friendly, accommodating and have incredible customer service. Don't look any further...drive to Midas 402 Hespeler Road. Amazing!
