This is my experience. I went in for a simple oil change due to a coupon I came across online. After a short wait it was my turn to be serviced. 20minutes in & I am approached by the rep. In his hand he is holding my serpentine belt!?!? He then nonchalantly says to me, "This belt has a crack in it." as he shines a light on "my" belt; clearly illuminating the crack. He then states, "It will fail and you will break down, luckily I saw i." & without pause quotes the price for installation & parts. So without consulting me they removed something necessary for the vehicle to function & in doing so they've successfully & forcibly extortioned more money from me! I literally had just conditioned my belt in their parking lot while I awaited my turn to be serviced! For real! I knew 100% the belt was fine but as not to argue, stay on schedule, I swallowed the cost & anger for I was due in Sioux Falls shortly. Oh & then he tried pulling my filters to show me how dirty they were... AH HAH!! I KNEW THEN THEIR DIRTY LOW SCHEME! For this oil change was just 1 step in a simple maintenance regime I follow with each used car I buy & I replaced the intake filter the day prior @ Walmart. CONCLUSION: THIS REP @ JIFFY LUBE IN SINING HILLS SIOUX CITY IA HAD ON HAND BAD FILTERS AND BELTS JUST FOR CUSTOMERS THAT APPEAR CAR-ILLITERATE! I assumed all of this because I HAD A COUPON! Here's the worse part. Upon returning that night from Sioux Falls, with my child & fiancé in the car, MY BELT IS SHREDDED & IM FORCED OFF TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY! The car broke down along with a constant wiper fluid leak/coolant leak due to jiffy removing those reservoirs to install the belt & reinstalling them improperly as well as an oil leak from not replacing a bad gasket around the drain plug was what I walked away with. Oh not to mention the $170 hole it burned through my wallet! **Occurred a couple years ago @ the singing hills location** (I still have the receipt as I keep all things pertaining to maintenance) Thank you Jiffy for this horrid experience which I feel obligated & my duty to tell over & over to as many people that'll hear me out. Growing up in the Twin Cities, I remember hearing the horror stories about Jiffy Lube, but that was years ago and many miles away. Also, it seems like at 5:30 in Sioux City, there aren't many other options that are supposed to be open. I get to the shop at 5:50, their website and the shops door say they close at 6pm. A gentleman comes out and asks how he can help, I tell him I wanted a basic oil change..." Wait a minute, I'll see if we are still open" Guy goes inside, talks to a girl, comes out and says "No, the register is closed". I point out that the door he is standing in front of says they are open until 6, " we've been kind of slow" I ask what time of day do you need to be here by to get an oil change if the posted information is wrong?....."5:30?" Stopped here for a quick oil change, there was no wait and they got me right in. They were more than kind and friendly to get me in. Quick and friendly! Of course why wouldn't you be cause as soon as you get the customer in your gonna screw them!!! $107 for basic oil change! Liars !! Left my car there for a simple oil change but they ended up breaking up my car's door. The worst thing is that they Did NOT own their mistake. The door was absolutely file when I left but when i came back to pick it up, the door was inoperable. They said that they couldn't open the door when they tied. Bull Sh*t. They probably jerked it hard to vacuum or something. The manager was absolutely rude. I asked them if they had a security camera that could show the recordings but they said they had no camera. What kinda business DO NOT have a Security Camera ?? NEVER going back. Absolutely going to URGE my friends and family and you guys to avoid the place.
