these have been my doctors since a little girl and i have always been pleased with the service i…read morereceive. it can be quite hard to get an immediate appointment as they book up a few days in advance however i have always been able to get an emergency appointment for the children. the receptionists are friendly and professional although i refuse to tell them the reason i need the appt as i feel this is private - between me and the doctor. They have a nurse on site who gives the childrens injestions and she always makes me feel calm. The health clinic on thursday morning can get very busy and i suggest you get there up to 30mins early unless your prepared to wait along time, i dont mind this as i know the health visitors do a thorough job

The Hyman Practice is also very modern and clean with a spacious waiting room with lots of seats so you don't feel like you're catching anyone's bugs! As you walk in you can speak to the receptionists or use the self check in machine on the wall. I always find the reception staff kind and efficient. Reception staff often get a bad rep but they are lovely here. I visited different nurses at the practice several times last year as I had a burn that needed changing and checking. They were incredibly kind and gave excellent advice. I've only seen a doctor once and she was also very kind, efficient and helpful. Handily there is a pharmacy downstairs so you can pick up prescriptions there. There are just two issues. Firstly, it can be difficult to get an appointment with a doctor. You can sit on the phone ringing and ringing for ages. Secondly there is often a delay when waiting for your appointment. However I think these are problems across the NHS rather than with the individual practice.

Obviously I would recommend him as I'm still alive. The only reason I changed was so that I could be registered at the same place as my wife and son. No other reason for the switch after all this time. Aside from the GP services, which you probably wouldn't use unless you lived very locally, this practise is also a centre where you can get immunisations and injections for overseas travel. On two occasions in the last 5 years I've needed shots to go to various places. Being quite useless at organising such things I had left it late (too late, according to a well-known High Street chemist, wrongly, as it turned out) and on both occasions the surgery were able to get me booked in and sorted out with the relevant drugs. So, even if you don't live in B44 it is worth bearing in mind for travel purposes.
