She continued to give me a referral for an orthopedist on told me to make an appointment. When I got home I looked at the referral and it was for and arm orthopedist, not even for back pain. I now found out that she left the practice and did not give any information as to where she was going. I had not intended on going back to her but my friend who had been a long time patient of hers was not even given information as to where she was going.

She does not call after her strict hours or on weekends -- A few summers ago, she was aware of when I was extremely sick - and I was out of town , and in pain - it was impossible to get through the Northwell Health phone line, and when I did, she was not there, and I don't recall a prompt call back. She does not come in to the office every day. Most recently I required an urgent fill of asthma inhaler as i was out of town and had forgotten mine. It was mid week and plenty of time for it to get done on business hours. I never received the prescription or the call back. Needless to say I'm looking for a new doctor. I wish her well, but I never felt the same in return.

I am being treated by a specialist for severe pulmonary hypertension and have reported to her that I am severely fatigued and sleeping 14 hours a day. The specialist chalked it up to the PH medication and said I'd get used to it, but this had been going on for five months. Dr. Fingesten found that my blood pressure was dangerously low from the PH medication and changed my medications. The next day I felt like a new person. Not just energized, but thinking clearly. Dr. Hanjis is, to the best of my knowledge unaware of this ritualistic debacle I endure courtesy of the person who receives his emails and is supposed to send the rx renewal in. Every month for over a year I have had the pharmacy request the renewal, as the practice prefers, I request it via their patient portal, Connect, I email the doctor every month. I receive no response until the last possible minute. I have spoken with the practice manager who has spoken with the nurse manager as it appears the nurse for the practice manages rx refills. So if you can manage to get past the incompetence of the person(s) who can't manage to refill a rx, which has never happened to me in the decades I've been on this medication, Dr. Hanjis is great. I enjoy seeing him for my medical needs. Unfortunately, I cannot continue putting myself through the stress associated with a simple prescription renewal due to his "support team's" incompetence.
