First visit to this office as a patient was for a crown after a tooth self destructed. Since my previous dentist was far away and it is just getting too hard to make the trip I chose a dentist closest to home. Office seemed nice enough. Receptionist was charming and nice. But still, this choice was a mistake. I should have done more investigation. It was a mistake. Mistake. Mistake. The tooth does not match the color of ANY tooth in my head. He did not take the time to do the job right. It does not look natural in my mouth or at my gum line. This dentist does not take the time, does not care or does not have the skill to do a job right. I was going to give this dentist two stars, but a family vote says give this guy only one star and we will never see him again. read more

I am a registered dental hygienist and have been practicing 21 years. I was on vacation in Utah at my daughter's softball tournament. I was eating a bagel and popped off my front veneer. I called the office to see if they could recement my veneer and they were just wonderful! The whole office! They got me in asap. The front office staff was so kind and sweet and down to earth. The assistant was awesome. And Dr. Ellis was just amazing. He sat down and just chatted with me for a few minutes before he recemented my veneer. He was extremely gentle and very kind and easy to talk to. I would definitely work for him! So I would highly highly recommend this office. Great staff and wonderful dentist. My 18 year old son was in a treatment program in Ogden. He did not show up for a cleaning appointment made six months in advance. He moved to Tennessee to attend college (where we live, his parents) after the treatment program ended. The office charged him a $30 no show fee. They then turned him over to collections when it was not paid. The collections company called us. This was the first we had heard. We never received a phone call or bill for this charge. My wife called the office and asked why they had never called us or sent us a bill. They could not answer. They said they sent a notice to the address on file. My wife then explained my son had moved, and if the collections company had our number, the office must also have it, They could not answer. Charging an 18 year old for a no-show without a warning or a second chance. Making a weak attempt to contact the patient or his family before sending to collections. Zero attempt to understand the circumstances that may have contributed to the patient not showing up. Cavalier regard to damaging a person's credit rating. Dr Ellis took fabulous care of me when I came in to take care of an infected tooth. I thought I would have to have the tooth pulled, or have a root canal. Turns out, I did need a root canal- but I didnt need to lose the tooth because of cost. Dr. Ellis, with my insurance, charged me HUNDREDS less than my previous dentist, and I felt zero pain. The infection was dealt with immediately, the root canal was done soon after, and I havent felt better in months. I also had a small chip on my front tooth; which had previously been fixed but not properly. He fixed it in minutes and it looks fantastic. I only trust my teeth to Dr. Ellis and his team now! My husband went in for a cleaning and he was very impressed. Our whole family will be switching over! read more

I've been going to Dr. Ellis for years and have always had a pleasant experience. The staff are very kind and accommodating.

I have gone into have my teeth x-rayed and examined to see what needs to be done with my dreaded wisdom teeth. As someone who has some high anxiety about dentistry i was surprised at how calm i felt. Dr. Ellis is very kind and patient and makes you feel like you are just hanging out with your friend. His rates are affordable and He is willing to work out payment plans too. The office is also comfy and there are a lot of cool kids toys if you have to bring your tot. I go back in august 11th to have mu wisdom teeth removed and i am actually really excited about it. I will update my review once the surgery is over, but i have a feeling i'm going to be a-ok. read more

Dr. Ellis is incredible!! I have had a lot of problems with my teeth...failed root canals (from previous dentists), teeth falling out, etc. I am terrified of going to the dentist because of how bad my teeth are, but when I went to Dr. Ellis' office, things could not have gone any smoother!! He saw me on an emergency basis, took my xrays, and spent an hour with me explaining my different options. Thanks to him, we are working on the smile I have always wanted!!! Just one week ago I had my wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Jim Ellis. I was very nervous about the procedure going in to it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was over with! There was no pain through out the procedure, and Dr. Ellis explained the procedure thoroughly before hand so I knew exactly what to expect. After surgery I experienced very minimal amounts of pain and I was not swollen at all. Recovery went really well, and the dentist office even called me a couple days later to check up on me which I thought was really nice. Overall it was a really great experience; not bad at all. Everyone at the office is very friendly, and very professional. I would Definitely recommend Dr. Jim Ellis for your dental care! :) read more

I was referred to Dr Ellis by my sister who is also a (dental phobia sufferer). I had two terrible teeth side by side (one wisdom, another with decay and a silver filling that took up 1/2 of the tooth), The wisdom tooth broke 11/5 and I finally built up enough courage to call 11/7, the front desk staff were wonderful and said they could get me in that day in just a few hours, but i chickened out and opted for yesterday... Needed time to build up more courage ;) All that behind me it was dumb to wait, I arrived there and was greeted with a huge welcome from several people. When he came in he didnt just get down to business, he introduced himself and we talked... liked talked for several mintutes about my anxiety and dental history. He was so reassuring that he could help, and that hes certain hes seen worse (even if he hadn't it was wonderful to hear because i was so embarrassed about the state of my teeth). Once the actual procedure started we joked about how dental xrays should be banned by the Geneva convention as torture practice, and he said that I really must haven't been to the dentist in a while because they are round edge films now.. YES xrays that dont hurt!! He got me good and numb and checked back in with me several times to make sure I wasn't in any pain. He fixed the second tooth that I thought for sure was to be doomed. Rechecked for pain and gave me a little more Novocaine and pulled that broken wisdom tooth like a pro, after the tooth was removed he took his time to check to make sure there were not any missing pieces and explained all my aftercare wonderfully! I even made a follow up to get the rest of my teeth fixed!! Wonderful man, wonderful dentist!! ** In no way was i compensated for this review other than being so damn excited to find someone that I can trust to help me get to the point that I no longer have Dental Phobia!! read more

Amazing dental office! Dr Ellis and his staff are so kind, friendly and efficient. They are always on time, no need to wait endlessly in the waiting room.
