Absolutely the worst haircut of my life. I could have done better doing it myself. $15 to have someone act like I was inconveniencing them and use a flow bee on my head. I thought those things were a thing of the past. You can get a bad haircut here IF they decide to show up that day. I've known Jim for about 9 years.  Jim cuts my hair 2 or 3 times a month and always does a great job.  I was previously in the military and had a hard time finding someone in Owasso that could give me a military cut the way I liked it.  Jim has extensive experience in that area and knew exactly what I wanted. Jim also gave my son his first hair cut 5 years ago and has been the only barber to cut his hair since.  I also have a daughter who likes to go with me to Jim's just because she likes him and has fun while she is there.  Jim is great with the kids. Once you get to know Jim you'll find out he has a huge heart and is very generous.  For about 4 months I had to be away from home for work and not able to get a haircut.  I was only able to come home on Sundays.  When I needed a haircut Jim would open his shop just for me on Sunday to help me out.  What other barber do you know that would do that for you? Jim cares about what you have to say and responds with a completely honest opinion.  Jim will tell you how he sees it and may not always be"politically correct" or overly sensitive and he shouldn't have to be.  In Jim's shop he might give his "regulars" a hard time but it's all in good fun.  Jim's shop is a typical barber shop where you get a good haircut and entertaining conversation. Over the years Jim has become a good friend and I would easily recommend him to anyone and their kids that need a good reasonably priced haircut. read more

I would like to share 3 examples of bad experiences I have encountered with this "barber" so that no one else makes the same mistake. Not only am I ex-military and a local business professional, I consider myself to be a good judge of character. I just don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did or be subjected to this individual. Again, my experience is based upon 3 separate incidents over the course of 2 years. After moving to Owasso over 3 years ago, my first concern was to find a good barber, so I visited Jim's shop. Not only did I feel he was a below average barber, he is extremely rude, condescending, arrogant, ignorant, immature, and impossible to endure. What should take an average barber 5-10 minutes to accomplish, Jim drags out for 45 minutes. Jim likes himself.....a lot. And, if you have the misfortune of being in his presence, you become hostage to his incessant blabbering and failed attempts at making any resemblance of a coherent, sane statement. Remember the dummy in high school who had to constantly remind everyone how tough he was, or how many girlfriends he had...without him ever being in a known fistfight or seeing him on a date? Yeah, that's Jim. And once you meet the guy, you'll soon realize how absurd his comments really are considering his signature attire which includes a Hawaiian shirt, mom jeans, and white sneakers. Since this was my first experience with him, I gave it a pass. Oh yeah, the haircut was bad. My second experience was approximately 6 months later. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought my first impression may have been too harsh. Well, I was wrong....more of the same, if not worse.... plus a bad haircut. Shame on me. My third experience occurred approximately 1 year later. I was in a pinch and needed to get a haircut on my lunch hour. Extremely hesitant and regretful, I drove into town and walked into his shop around 1:15 p.m. He was the only one there and sprawled out in his barber chair, drinking a pop, and watching tv. I sat down at the row of chairs against the wall and proceeded to look at him. He never spoke and never acknowledged my presence. After a few uncomfortable moments, I asked him if he was working and without making eye contact he stated "I'm taking a break". I guess he wasn't in the mood to "perform" or realized I really didn't care for his previous buffoonery, so I got up and walked out wondering how or why the guy was even in business. But then I remembered a previous conversation he had with a patron where he bragged he'd rather be on unemployment. The pieces of the puzzle all fell into place. From what I have seen from this individual and conversations I have had with others, it's my conclusion that he is neither anyone you want to patronize and help fund his lifestyle, take your children to, nor is he good for the community of Owasso. Since then I have visited several very good barbers in the Owasso area, so there are viable alternatives and no need to feel hostage and have your senses visually and audibly assaulted by this individual. If he wants to go on unemployment, then by all means, let's grant him his wish. read more

The one and only time I let him cut my hair, I smelled liquor on his breath and he was slurring his words. I'll NEVER go back.
