We went to King's Den based on yelp reviews. We got in to see MICHAEL KOURI within 24hrs of our initial call. He did not disappoint! (The shop itself isn't like any open-floor barber shop we've seen in the past. Each barber has his own space, reflecting personality. It's tucked away on SW corner of 61st & Memorial. Be prepared to search for it on 1st visit.) He listened to my son and gave him the look he was seeking. Michael paid great attention to detail and our first experience was exceptional. Darrell is totally cool and a great stylist - one of the best I've encountered here in Tulsa. He takes color seriously and does a wonderful job with highlights and overall. I will definitely go back. Make an appointment - you won't regret it. P.S. Be sure to watch the pigeons and birds outside the door while you're waiting for your color to set. It's entertaining and relaxing. I am a formerly licensed cosmetologist and have always had a hard time finding anyone that could cut my hair the way I liked it. I saw a friend share a post about 6 weeks ago about the King's Den and recommended it. Although it was a little out of my way, I am SO glad I made an appointment and had Sam cut my hair. I went back for my second cut today and again a SUPERIOR job by Sam. Not only does he do a fantastic job cutting my hair, he carries on good conversation while taking his time to make sure my hair is cut perfectly. He is a perfectionist and not one that will cut your hair in 15 minutes but takes his time to make sure he makes his mark when cutting your hair. Moved to Tulsa a few months ago. I've only had my hair cut at King's Den twice and I have been very satisfied both times. Cut and shampoo for $22 is a pretty dang good deal for a good barber-quality haircut if you ask me. My barber is Sam and he has been great. I cannot attest to the quality of the other barbers, but if they are anything like Sam, you will undoubtedly be satisfied. Plus, the chairs are awesome. I looked at other places like EITR, but that's not really my crowd or style. The atmosphere here is very relaxed, as there are separate rooms for each station. I really like this aspect. So, if you want a great cut from a knowledgable barber at an honest price in one of the most luxurious chairs you've ever sat in, go see Sam at Kings Den. read more

I had my first haircut at King's Den today and had to log on to Yelp to write my first ever review because it was such a great experience for a very reasonable price. Sam did a great job on my very fine hair. He took his time and didn't rush through the cut. He also did a great job answering my questions and provided very insightful information regarding styling and product ideas. Having been to several different barbers/stylists in the Tulsa area (including EITR), King's Den provides just as good of a haircut for basically half the price. Highly recommended. read more

Sam is friendly and talented at his craft. I have been very happy with my haircuts from him. I get a business casual version of the gentlemen's cut, i.e. fade and hard part. His blade work is clean and he always uses a new blade and appropriately sanitizes his equipment and workstation. I recommend Sam for all your barber service needs. read more

I'm from NYC and new to Tulsa. One of the first things I research was locating a proper barber who is meticulous, listens to what the customers want and is serious about his craft. After several attempts to locate one, I have found him in this hidden gem of a barbershop. Sam Reed is a true artisan and well-worth the wait. He is sincerely accommodating and an interesting conversationalist. Once you finally can get an appointment and have your hair cut, you will know why he is in such high demand. Be advised that you will need to book by Monday morning in order to have an appointment for Saturday. read more

I got my hair cut here a couple of weeks ago and since that time have been rocking the best cut I've gotten in a long while. In fact I've been busy rocking it so much these past two weeks that I've barely had enough time to finally get around to writing this review so Sam I hope you're still there, don't take it personally that it took me this long to write this. Moved here to Tulsa just over a month ago at this point and knew that one of the first orders of business was to find the barbershop I was going to call my own. Yelped a few businesses and King's Den popped up as one that was nearby and reasonably priced. Didn't quite know what to expect going into the King's Den since the last review had mentioned it had a "speakeasy" milieu but once I parked my car in the nondescript office building parking lot and found the entrance tucked away one of the sides of the building (seriously, there are no signs to indicate its existence except on the front of the door) I definitely saw what they meant. Each station (as far as I know) is in its own individual room, offering a sense of privacy and personal attention that I'd never experienced at a barbershop before. Sam and I introduced ourselves and by the time I was sitting in the lush seat (seriously, never seen anything like it before in a barbershop) and having a conversation with him about our lives and how we ended up in Tulsa, I knew I'd found the place. He was attentive, asked plenty of questions about how I wanted my hair and how I've cut it before, etc. and I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks without having had to spend that much. All in all, I'll definitely be back again. TL; DR awesome. read more

Sam was amazing. I am very nitpicky with my hair but he was the first barber I was completely satisfied with. He would start off with studying your hair and ask you questions about how you generally keep it and then suggest you styles you can go with. While doing the hair he keeps you entertained with conversation. He did my hair for a very important event and I got a lot of compliments on my sharp looks that day.
