Im a heath care provider and was attentive to things others might not recognize. The facility was very clean and staff were very knowledgeable, attentive. Courteous, and caring. I was very impressed. I found this out the hard way. I needed a procedure done and it was scheduled about a month in advance. Three days before my procedure I get a call from the office stating that they can't do the procedure due to the hospital not taking my insurance. I get it. I should've known this...I guess. But dang!! I feel like someone should've been able to give me a heads up like, "Dr. takes this insurance but if you ever need anything done outside of the office, you are SOL." I ended up finding a Geisinger inclusive Dr. who is phenomenal.

And each time I called back, the lady got ruder and ruder, saying "ob/gyn associates, will u please hold!" louder and slower, like I'M the moron! All I need is a script REFILLED, which the pharmacy had requested Saturday afternoon. Mind u, it is now Monday afternoon AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T FILLED IT!!!! Now it's after hours, and they never responded to the pharmacy. I am very dissatisfied, no I am angry!, and after 20 yrs will have to change doctors.

The staff are kind and patient and deliver personalized attention. Meals are customized to the patients' dietary needs. The food is well prepared and appetizing. All of the patients are greeted by name by friendly aides and nurses who do a very difficult job with grace and thoughtfulness. I haven't seen a grouch yet. When I come to visit my loved one at Edenbrook Hampton, I am always greeted warmly from the front door to the residential area. Staff members, including admin, social work, nursing, recreation, facilities, and the dietary department encourage us to let them know if we need anything. I enjoyed my experience here compared to Wilkesbarre general hospital. Everyone swears by the deliciousness of the smoothie bar (I personally never got it tho). Beware this is trauma center so the ED can be very chaotic at times with long waits for beds but they get to you eventually based on the severity & level of care needed to make you feel better. The labor and delivery ward here is the really good compared to the others I've been to; it also has a Nicu for babies. (But if I had to choose a place to deliver, Geisinger CMC in Scranton labor and delivery is so much nicer but better suited for moms with uncomplicated pregnancies as they don't have a NICU.) My main downside to coming here was how far away the parking lot was & can be challenging to find a closer spot. But to help they do have shuttles that runs till about 4am & can pick you up and take up to the front of the hospital.

Dr. B puts on a razzle dazzle show for the sales pitch of types of lenses to chose and push for the…read morelaser. Surgery "center" is in a strip mall and design is from the 1960s; not really clean. Operating rooms look more like office space that was retrofitted. Once it's your turn to go in the "chair" to get setup for surgery, there is no privacy; other surgeries I've had put a curtain between each patient. Worse, the doctor never comes to talk to you before the surgery. Just comes into the OR and does his thing without so much as a "how do you do". Billing department insists on payment of lenses and co-pay BEFORE surgery and tells you, in a condescending tone, that if you don't pay, they'll cancel the surgery. The only positive thing was the nurses. They were wonderful!

Not only was his negligence instrumental in other death(s) (currently in litigation), his was negligently responsible for the death of my mother. Having been his patient as well, for 4 years, I can personally confirm that this man has no genuine compassion, competence nor even a half human bedside manner. He has stated that it is his mission to "control medical costs". And he does so at the expense of lives - by not ordering tests when they are medically indicated. Actually, you are lucky if he just listens to your lungs in an office visit. Do not expect him to have any genuine sympathy for your pain or illness (or your life, for that matter). He is only interested in the almighty dollar and controlling it. Also, he will not refer you to an ER when you call him with serious symptoms (like breathing difficulty or a head injury), but will instead, give you an office appointment for a later date which he will deny even occurred...if you happen to survive long enough to attend it before you die. If you are drug dependant, or interested in becoming so (and even if you are not), he will oblige. Be aware that his epitaph for you when you die will be that "it was your own fault."
