We are regular take out people from here for over a year. We order at least once a week on Fridays and more when I am sick with a need for soup. I can't speak on the ambiance or table service, however they know us by name and always pay special attention to us every time we visit. If you want fresh American Chinese food this is the best I have had in a long time. I have lived in Seattle and NC. They do their stir frys perfectly for take out. The veggies are still crisp and the rice fluffy. I have tried most the non seafood stir frys and they are consistently well seasoned and cooked. When I ask for spicy, they give it to me. I usually do soups from here when I'm sick. I don't like my soups thickened so I do thin it out when I get home. The soups are full of all the right things and I really enjoy the hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, and panang curry. I usually have about 3 meals from a single large soup order. If you are looking for a very affordable lunch, they have specials! I can usually make two meals or of my dinner combo. read more

I've been here a few times now and have tried several items on the menu. I did not care for their style of chicken chow mein - its very celery heavy. However, the Beef and broccoli, Chicken Lo Mein, and general's chicken are all very very good. The prices are very reasonable, especially if you get a lunch combo. I'll keep coming back. Very poor service. In fact, no service whatsoever! I would have liked some salt and water but the waitress never returned and she had my order wrong to boot. She never came back so I just ate what she brought me, However when I went to pay I told the gentleman about it and when he asked her about it they only spoke in Chinese and she seemed very beligerante. This was our first time here and the food was pretty good. We did a take out. The owners are still protecting themselves, from Covid. So, they are wearing face masks, and have large plastic covering between them and customers for their safety. I wanted sushi, so I found this place on Yelp. My husband ordered 2 rolls of shrimp tempura. He also ordered house fried rice, pork rolls, and shrimp with broccoli. The shrimp and broccoli is for dinner when we go to work. The food was delicious, but the house fried rice had the meat at the top and not all the way through. We paid extra for more meat, but it definitely wasn't extra. :-/ The egg roll was pretty good, and the sushi was as well. My Husband wanted egg fo young, but they don't sale it. He was shocked, and disappointed. We will definitely visit again, but next time we will stick with their specialty "Sushi," and try their crab meat cheese wonton, seafood delight, and spicy crab roll. read more

From the Yelp review, I came here to have a mix of shushi rolls, & Chinese food. Come to find out they stopped the sushi about two years ago. Bummer! The fried scallops were just ok. I doubt made here, but out of a frozen bag. Came with a side of regular tartar sauce. Meh. However my favorite Chinese dish, the Singapore Chow Mei Fun was very good. I asked for extra extra spicy & it came out maybe medium spice. Downfall for living in Minnesota. I'd definitely get it again, but there's a few other dishes I'd like to try. Another couple disappointments were finding out they use the sweet cream cheese in their wontons, & the trend of this darker brown runny gravy for the Egg Foo Yung. There's not one I've tried & liked. The light brown almond gravy that was traditionally used is hard to come by now, like just plain cream cheese wontons. So one of my favorite dishes is off my list with a lot of the Chinese restaurants. I don't get where that came from, but yuck. I'd still come back to try some other dishes though. The place was tidy, clean, & pretty quite. Even after several regulars came in, & lots of take out orders. Based on that, the place is doing some things right. In most cases I would give this a 3 star as average American Chinese fare but for the location with a small Chinese population (this is a guess as a visitor) I bumped it up by 1 star. The Chow Mein style here is pretty odd but apparently that's how it's done here so can't knock it. Doesn't look like it would be that great from the outside or the inside. But, I couldn't have been more wrong. The food was a amazing! I had some type of curry and the shrimp they used were nice and big and no the small little frozen ones! The other two I was with had orange chicken and the chicken perfectly cooked and not tough like a buffets would be! Our drinks unfortunately tasted like the chemicals used to clean the soda fountain. I was quite impressed with JJ Garden. They offer an excellent selection of Chinese, Thai, and sushi. The food (General Tso's Chicken, chicken fried rice, and an egg roll) was delicious, fresh, plentiful and reasonably priced. The chicken had a sweet and sour with a hint of hot spiciness that was just what I wanted. The dish was served with some steamed broccoli and was presented nicely. JJ Garden is open for takeout during this Covid 19 insanity. They will only let one person into the restaurant at a time. But when I called in my order they had it in ready in about 15 minutes. Food was good and tasty and enough that I saved some for lunch tomorrow. I had General Tso's chicken, which came with egg roll and fried rice; my other had beef with broccoli, with fried rice and egg roll. Mine was mildly spicy. I am in my mid 50s and was a confirmed "will never like Chinese food person". I had given it a chance like three times in my life and was never impressed to the point I cared if I ever had it again. THIS place converted me at my age! This may have been one of the top five meals I have had in my lifetime. Reasonably priced, so very fresh, far more than the normal amount of veggies served with the meals--mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, pea pods, water chestnuts, mini corn, and probably three others I cannot remember. Everything cooked PERFECTLY. I do not do mushrooms or the mini corn--no problem, my dinner companions received them. I had the Hunan Shrimp, being advised it was the hottest/spiciest of the shrimp dishes. Whoa. Nice sized firm perfectly cooked shrimp as well. Not the little ones and not jumbo, just a nice sized GOOD shrimp. My leftovers were EVEN hotter the next day. I can't wait to try other dishes and was ready to go back the next day and every day. My problem is I love the Hunan Shrimp now but also want to try other dishes. The only dilemma... :) read more

So, this time... Nice friendly service. Unfortunately, the quality of the sashimi isn't matched... This sashimi platter was the most pitiful version I've ever eaten. To give you a sense; the platter included a stick of imitation crab and one very firm overcooked butterfly shrimp. The salmon and whitefish were very slim cuts folded atop shredded iceberg lettuce.
