If you opt for an interior wash, door jams, floors, trunk and interior surfaces are also quickly cleaned. And this sunny winter afternoon, every car wash seemed to have a line stretching through the parking lot into the adjacent roadway. This was my first visit to Waterway. What is the Waterway way? We were in the lineup for a while. We selected the $45 classic wash plus interior. The drivethru of brushes and car wash strip thingies was a little short, compared to others I've been through. We pulled into a spot so the car could be dried. The waiting area has drinks, snacks, candies, greeting cards, car accessories, a few chairs, and I assume bathrooms. Not a bad spot to chill while they dry. Overall, a pretty decent job. The employees were pleasant, they did a nice job. They didn't dry everything as my car has those telltale water lines crisscrossing the exterior. Some parts of the windows still have salt. Let's face it though, a better job than I would have done, and during winter? I'm glad the crusty salt is gone.

Some officious and racist girl at the attendant stand tells me I can't use it because it's expired. She tells me she doesn't have the code buttons to put in (her first excuse) then tells me she can't let me thru bcoz it's expired and she can't do anything about (causing a long line behind me while she argues with me and then says I should pay the difference) her second excuse. Then she says she needs to call her supervisor who tells her to take all my expired receipts (all paid car washes mind you) and take my license down so as to not let me get future car washes. (Seriously, all this for an $8 car wash) she then tells me that she'll let me go and to never come back because "We don't want your kind back here!" This is the racist comment that Just put me over so I tell her to F off. To make matters worse as soon as my car exits the car wash, this bald older a hole confronts me and screams at me as to why I made his employee cry and why I was screaming at her. After all the weird weather, back and forth with snow and rain, and soooo much dirt, I celebrated the first warm day of the year and treated our car to a bath. It was time. It was a simple bath, with no bells and whistles, but now I can drive around with dignity in the school drop off line. If you didn't know, there's a car wash in the back of Shell. It's hidden, unless you see the sign at the pump. The great thing is if you plan to use the car wash, you have two options. Pay at the pump and receive $.10 off each gallon of gas, or if you don't want gas you can head to the attendant at the car wash and pay for one of the following three options: * Regular wash $5 * Plus wash adds sealer wax and under carriage rust inhibitor $6 * Premium will get you wheel brightener and polish wax for $7 I take the cheap seats for $5 and haven't tried the upgrade services, but there is no extra tip to pay, so maybe next time. You are on your own here, and they do have interior vacuums available right around the corner from the wash. There is a yearly car wash plan available. They gave us an optional punch pass. After a few washes the next one is free!

We booked an interior detail online at $185 and specifically selected the "extra dirty" option because we knew the vehicle had heavy dog hair and would require extra work. We fully expected an upcharge. What we didn't expect was to be told at dropoff that the price would now be $600 after comments about it being "the dirtiest car" they had ever seen. We understand severe pet hair removal takes more time and labor, and we aren't disputing the extra work. Our issue was the lack of clear expectations beforehand. If a vehicle disclosed as "extra dirty" can end up costing more than TRIPLE the quoted amount, that should be communicated more transparently before the appointment or through a clearer pricing structure online. At the time of drop off, there was a line of cars waiting to be checked in, so we felt put on the spot and didn't have time to process such a dramatic price, so we left it (admittedly, maybe we shouldn't have). When we raised concerns about the final price at pickup, there was no willingness to discuss any adjustment. Again, the final quality of the detail was very good. But customer experience also includes the level of professionalism, transparency, and how concerns are handled when expectations (final cost) change so significantly. If you have an "extra dirty" car, my advice is to get a few quotes up front. We certainly wish we had done that!
