As someone who avoids the automatic car washes, it was amazing to find a spot that offers the speed of an automatic conveyor belt wash while providing a detail oriented hand wash approach. Let me tell you, these guys are a well oiled machine. Once you pull into the bay you are instantly met with a rinse and soaping, then a meticulous two stage drying process. If you opt for an interior wash, door jams, floors, trunk and interior surfaces are also quickly cleaned. I usually go in for their regular car wash but this time went in for the first time for the Ceramic Boost. Online says 2 hours to be done. When I got there they said about 3 hours. I called at 4 hours and left a message. With no return phone call, I called back 30 minutes later with no pickup. I decided to walk over and see what was going on. They had my car ready so I don't know why they didn't call me. Maybe just a really busy day? Then I go to leave and they didn't even clean my rubber mats. Sad day. Listen, I have no beef with this car wash. It's a bit pricey but maybe it's because it's hard to find workers these days let alone manual labor types. Or maybe they feel Northbrook will pay $35 for a wash? Who knows. It took about a good 10 minutes to wash my car 2 weeks ago. I thought they did a good job. Paid 47 dollars for a mediocre/poor hand wash Inside was still dirty they didn't even really wipe anything. They kind of do a glancing wipe but don't really put any effort into make sure it's clean. Car was still filthy inside. Didn't remove any of the spots on the outside of the car. The tire dressing was very weak and barely noticeable. I have gone to this car wash three times, and I am always disappointed in the job that they do...it is below average. I'm not expecting them to empty out my glovebox and organize it, but they don't even do a complete vacuuming job, always leaving visible dirt throughout the car, on the seats, and in the trunk. Today, the dashboard was not wiped down, they missed large swaths of it. Finally, my windshield was not completely clean when they returned the car to me! Not only is the work haphazard, but the prices are very high. They charged $54 for my minivan. I really like the Auto Spa in Niles on Touhy, but they are just too far away for me to use their services on a regular basis. Avoid this place. read more

My 3rd grader asked me to get a car wash because it was embarrassing to have his friends in my messy car. I pointed out that it's so messy thanks to him and his siblings, but took the hint and stopped by Splash on my way home from running errands this afternoon. Is this the best car wash in the North Shore? Nope, but it's fast, located just minutes away from my house and I always drive away knowing that that the 3rd graders will approve of my clean car....unless they all mess it up again. $35 will get your car clean inside and out and their team takes about 10 minutes from start to finish. I did notice some crumbs on the front seat after I drove away so they don't pay so much attention to the little details, but it certainly looks better than when I drove up. And loved getting all the snow/salt off the exterior of my car on this February day. read more

My first experience was really great. I walked in, owner was there, I told him I have a dog and my car has a lot of dog hair, will they do a good job vacuuming or do I need a detail? He said they're very thorough, a detail entails leaving the car there over the night and that if I'm unsatisfied, we can consider the detail option. It was $30-40 for inside and outside cleaning. I was really impressed with my first experience. Since then, I've returned 3 times, twice a young lady up front and there are usually 3-4 people cleaning. They do it in 5 min and the hair is still all over the place, more like blowing the hair around rather than suctioning it. I mean, they vacuumed, don't get me wrong, but very basic and fast. The side doors still had dust, I mean, a quick rag to everything. Night and day to my first experience. Only with me going back to bring it to the ladies attention did they go back over it and do a better job. This time I went in and a young boy was at the desk. I asked if they were going to do a thorough job or if I should go somewhere else. To his credit, he said a simple vacuum, anything more is a detail. For $30-40 plus tip and 4-5 guys, it should be more than a quick vacuum. If you go and get lucky if boss man is around watching the crew, then probably a good option, but if he's not there, I would avoid. read more

I always go to splash as my regular car wash because they are efficient and do a great job cleaning. I have gone to other places in the area but never feel that I get as good a value and service. Recently we had a little mini tornado in the area and my car a new Volkswagen ID4 was hit by some shingles and a tiny bit was embedded in the door. When I took it to Splash, they were able to not only remove it, but also buff out the spot so it looks brand new and at no additional charge! I am a happy customer! read more

Customer Beware, On a visit yesterday getting my brothers vehicle washed I requested a car wash from the menu, a series of many bill boards. the price indicated $35.00 for a 1+ wash, I paid with a credit card and requested a receipt, the cashier processed my card and I thought I was paying $35.00. I asked for a receipt and was informed the machine was down. When I checked my account later I noticed a pending charge for $41.60. It appears they surcharge a mid size SUV $5.00. On the billboard that lists the service I was purchasing there was no *asterisk mention of a surcharge. It would have been nice to know, I would have made a different selection. Since the machine that prints the receipt was down I feel like I was taken advantage of. I don't believe I will ever return, because it was assumed I knew about the surcharge. Don't go jerk of an owner I realize with inflation prices have really gone up, but you'd think owners would be willing to provide little extra effort. Not here. I got directed to $35 dollar car wash - he ended up charging me $40. I didn't say anything. He asked if I wanted special to remove bugs an extra $5. For $40 bugs should come off. Sure enough the bugs didn't get removed. I wanted a towel to do it myself and he directed me out of work area. Owner Gave me a snotty response stating you didn't ask for bug removal. I saw he put no effort into removing the bugs as he sprayed car. I told him I was going to write an unfavourable review on Yelp giving him a chance to wipe the car clean properly. He didn't care. His response was you write that review in a nasty way. He didn't care. Doesn't care about customer service and is a surly individual. Other washes are far more deserving of your business, and you'll be treated with respect somewhere else. Really unsettling experience - highly recommend avoiding. I still got bugs on my car. Do Not go to Splash hand car wash in NORTHBROOK!! I just tried Splash for the first time. $25 for a basic wash. The owner was not wearing a mask and refused to put one on when asked. I will not be coming back. Besides the mask issue the service SUCKED!!! The dash and screen were all streaky, I had to ask them to re-vacuum part of the car and they the dash and area behind the steering wheel never got wiped down because they're still dust covered. After all that, my windshield is still covered in bugs and they wanted to charge an addition $5 to clean the windshield. The attitude I got when asking them to address some of the issues was irritating. I WILL NEVER GO TO SPLASH AGAIN! read more

Splash completely detailed my Goddaughter's older Honda Accord, inside and out. They were able to schedule the car in for next day service. The car was EXTREMELY dirty on the inside, and I never dreamed the exterior could be brought from a chalky appearance to a beautiful shiny smooth finish, but they did it! Not the least expensive option, more near the mid range for North Shore pricing, but the customer service, detailing results and professionalism makes it more than worth the rate. read more

I went to Splash this morning, I waited 35 minutes in line until one of the workers came out and started to advise us patrons in line that the CC machine was down- and they were only excepting cash. I asked if their ATM was working, although I am cautious to use a no name, high fee ATM but I figured to get it over with- his response was that he didn't know. This happened during the hight of covid so I didn't put much thought into the situation then. I feel that there's a switch scam going on here. When the owners are not there to supervise- the workers are 1. Reducing their workload by eliminating non cash customers and 2. They are stealing cash from the owners. I went to the place to get my car shampooed. I didn't think that it would cost 250 dollars. What a rip off! They claim it was bio hazard which is a lie because it wasn't. You don't take off a remote control that is on a visar in a car nor do you go inside a glove department and put it empty, I have my car insurance in my glove department. Mediocre at best. I get a better car wash from an automated car wash than I do from this place for 1/3 the cost. They used to be better. Now, it is more often than not, that I have to have portions redone. And when I have to point out that they missed obvious dirt spots, the owner gets very upset and tries to make me feel bad for asking them to re-do the area. I have used them before. They sent me a coupon asking me location. Came here free a free wash and I was going to upgrade. He rudely told me "no freebies" I told him they sent me the coupon. It wasn't as much as the free wash, but this guy george george was soooo rude, he made it clear he didn't give a crap Since he owns it there is no reason to bother. Brought my car in and asked them to take a look at some simple spots on the backseat. They didn't do it and when I pointed it out they said I'd either need a detailing or shampooing of the back seat. Once home, I took out a simple leather wipe and removed the two simple spots with 20 seconds of work. For $30, one can do a lot better. It is over priced, they nickel and dime for everything (microfiber towels $5.00 up charge , small SUV $5.00 up charge etc. etc.) The service however is consistent. Consistently bad. The interior wipe down is never complete leaving smeared windows and dust on the corners or the dash. The exterior also is never completely cleaned or dried. First time...ever...I didn't leave a tip at a car wash. Right after work I was running some errands and happened to pass by this place. Desperately needing a car wash, and wanting to do it quickly before the sun completely went down, I figured a hand wash vs. machine wash would really benefit my super dirty car. I pulled in the garage and got out of my car and went to the office to pay. The guy behind the counter asked if I had rubber mats, and when I told him I didn't he pointed to the sign behind his head that read $15. At this point my car was underway, and I gave him my card to pay and was handed a receipt for $18. When I asked why it was $18, he pointed to another sign on the counter that read $3 extra charge for small SUV. Ummm...okay. It was really confusing and they were already starting to work on my car, so I kept moving along. I watched four people wash my car and when they pulled it up for me to check out, the guy opened up the car door and motioned for me to come over. I inspected the car quickly and saw water spots remaining and was really pretty bummed. The guy must have seen my disappointment, and when I tried to explain he didn't understand me. He waited around for a second for a tip before taking off. After being ripped off and seeing how sucky my car still looked, I didn't tip him! I just wanted to go home at this point. He had to know it sucked! Lesson learned. Not only did my car smell like dirty wet rags all they way home, when I arrived I had to roll down the windows, spray it with an air freshener, and there was even a dirt streak on the side of the car. But that's not all...they didn't vacuum the trunk! Not sure how I missed that, but for $18 I figured when I saw the hatch open they did it. They must have skipped that step when I was paying. Worst experience ever. They did a poor job washing my car. It was still dirty when I left. Mirrors horrible, car still dirty. To make matters worse, they broke my gas door cover and knocked It off my car. I have no idea how they did that because it was shut, but they just handed me the door while I stood dumbfounded. 1st crappy car wash, shame on you, 2nd crappy car wash, shame on me. Well we have given them 3 shots, and all crappy. Go any where except here, even the do-it-yourself car wash up the road is a better option. Do not waste your money. Wife went in, left with crap still on car, and they would not redo, she won't go back. This weekend, daughter takes her car in, not knowing better. Car comes out of wash with blue berry stains still on it. She points it out, and shows that the stains rub off. They tell her that they don't have time for her $20 car wash to do that kind of hand cleaning, and tell her to buy a detail if she wants a better job. My car was in dire need of a wash so I stopped at this place after work. Seemed like it was a popular place as there were four other cars who visited this place while I was there. I paid $17 for an exterior wash and interior vacuum. They did an average job. I wouldn't say it was anything spectacular but it wasn't terrible either. There were places they could have been a bit more detailed, but I'm happy with it and know what to look for next time, and ask them to touch up where I see some issue. The cashier told me Wednesday's is Ladies Day, so $3 Off! I'll definitely be visiting on a Wednesday the next time I go (if I go back). read more

Car was still wet with water dripping out of the mirrors and trunk lid leaving steaks right after I left. I had to dry it off when I get home. TERRIBLE experience and sadly not the only one with this place. Place looks nice, uniformed employees, clean waiting rooms etc., don't be fooled. Actual carwash was HORRIBLE, cargo area ignored! Streaks, spots and drips all over exterior. Rubber mats barely touched. All this for a supposed $27, but actually was $32, due to a $5 'SUV up charge', which was NOT mentioned.
