John Lukehart was warm-hearted, extremely charismatic, kept people engaged and excited with each event, kept people dancing all night with awesome music choices, and he made the shoe game so fun. When you book, you have an initial consultation with someone from their team who asks thoughtful questions about your style and preferences, and then they match you with DJs based on your vision. That's how we were paired with Andrew. Their communication and planning tools were fantastic. They provide an online portal where you and your DJ can both input and update everything from song requests to timeline details. I had several follow-up calls with Andrew to make sure he really understood our vibe -- and on the day of, the energy and music were absolutely perfect. The ceremony went off without a hitch, and once the dancing started, Andrew really shined. His transitions, timing, and song selections for the dance party were spot-on -- the exact fun, high-energy vibe we were hoping for. Our guests were raving about how much fun they had, and the dance floor stayed full the entire time. There were a couple of minor hiccups -- our ceremony ran long, and Andrew needed about an hour to reset for the reception (which we knew beforehand but did not account for), so there was a short delay outdoors in the heat. And there were a few moments of uncertainty for what was happening next -- but honestly, those were small things that only I or the planner would have noticed. From a guest perspective, everything was seamless. Andrew made up for it 100% once the party started, and we couldn't have been happier with how the night ended. Since he was newish with Dream Day, I was cautious but willing to try him out and what a fantastic decision that was. Friends and family complimented that DJ Akhil was the best wedding DJ they've seen and that my wedding had the highest dance rate (if that's even a thing) they had ever witnessed. The dance floor was always packed for the whole night! As for my first, and hopefully only, wedding, I was a bit unsure with the minimal contact with Akhil before the big night. We spoke a couple times about the type of DJing my partner and I wanted (not so talkative during dancing and not singing along) and another time about the schedule of events. But the whole night went so smoothly from ceremony music to reception. The minimal contact may have worked since their worksheet that the couple has to complete is so thorough. We felt Jake's rates were both competitive and fair--we thought we got a great deal for the service we received! Jake is a consummate professional and listens intently to what you want, provides his own expert--but humble--insight, and will execute the plan you've created with the utmost efficiency. Jake ran the reception flawlessly. He has a great style that compliments weddings perfectly, as it's not about him--he knows it's about you. Our wedding was awesome--many folks told us it was the best one they've ever attended. The right mix of many things had to come together in order for that to happen--the weather, the venue (thank you Stoneleigh Golf Course!), the couple (thank you, us!), the friends, the food... Bob and Saad were able to provide us quality service by coming in early to mic up 5 of our musicians, officiant, and groom.
