The owner came out to give me a bid and I have to admit, it was the most fair and reasonable bid I've received, to date, for ANY tree in my yard. Then I was told that his crew would be out to take it down. He did ask for payment upfront and I had no issue paying this, did so via Venmo......the crew came out and took the tree down, old-school style. And let me explain that what entailed: A tree expert climbing to the top of the tree and lopping off branch by branch, trunk piece by trunk piece, while a crew of 2-3 guys had a rope and were balancing him AND the tree parts as they were being hacked off.
