The guys were fast, did a great job and cleaned up. I also had to add a leaning tree when they showed up.

I feel like people just tell the horrors of their experience and don't give credit where credit is due. The crew at Ziegler's were awesome. The reason for the three stars (which I will raise ,if, the outcome of this is sufficient) is in the paragraph below. The guys were fast, efficient, and very tidy. They asked numerous times throughout the job if the trim was good or if I wanted it cut back more etc. So we had two water oaks removed from our property today. Everything was going great until it wasn't. I have attached pictures. The new truck they use to cut trees had a malfunction and a piece of the tree fell straight through our roof. I heard the loud bang and waited a few minutes before going outside because I knew it wasn't good haha. The guy operating the crane was pacing back and forth on the phone with his supervisors explaining what happened. He then proceeds to tell me something went wrong and that there is a hole in my roof. I feel many times the, initial, reaction is to panic and put blame on a company or an individual, instead of, just coming to terms with the fact that shit happens. I could see how concerned and upset this gentleman was at the fact he had just put a hole in my roof. As much as I wanted to I didn't see the need to let him know how upset I was. It says licensed and insured on there advertisements so I guess we will be putting that to the test. It is 3:21 on 4/25/2023 and I have been told there is a roof guy that will come and tarp the roof and then they will fix it. So to anyone who ever wondered what happens if they drop a tree on your house stay tuned! From my experience so far they have been extremely professional. I will update the stars to 5 once they fix my roof, lol, but for now I think everyone understands I got to go with the three (only because there is a hole in the roof. Everything outside of this was top notch people! Update: two men in a truck pulled up and said they were here to put up the tarp. 2 hours later not to bad. read more

Pricing was competitive based on 4 price quotes. The company was extremely nice to work with and have proper insurance and bonding. They came out today and did a phenomenal job. They even cleaned my driveway with a leaf blower before they left. They were professional, neat, and hard working. I am extremely please with my choice and would highly recommend them. Where do I begin? My neighbor used this tree service to cut branches over our property line being a great neighbor. They came out and took care of some of the branches that were damaged in Hurricane Ida but they left numerous widow makers that were broken and hung up into other branches. They also ran their damn skid steer through 8 feet of my fence breaking one board and ripping the others off the runners. When we brought it to their attention the guy told me they have a "special crew" that would come repair it by the end of the day. I had to repair the fence so that we could let the dogs out and block the broken board area. Mind you I don't live at this house so I wasn't aware that they had never come back to repair it. When I contacted them they assured me that they didn't know about the broken fence and they had to "put eyes on it because it was the first he's hearing about the fence being damaged". This was about 5 months in the waiting for them to fix it but they never came back. After contacting them the guy told me that they did not have hanging branches and showed me pictures of the tree that was in full growth status. If you were in the tree you would have seen them. What the problem is here is that they were in the tree with a lift and didn't see numerous branches hanging that are definitely a danger. See pictures of what they left in the tree and you could see them in full greenery. Sad thing is their guy said that he would gladly pay me for one broken fence board. read more

I recently used these guys to cut a dead pine tree in front yard. Very reasonable compared to others. They worked quickly and cleaned up very nicely. You would never know it was ever there! Great job guys! read more

They did not grind the stumps as stated in the contract. When asked why there was still a mound effect in the yard, they said it was all shavings. Once we dug around where they ground, it was evident they didn't grind down near what they were paid to do. Asked them to come out to correct, & they refused unless I paid them again. read more

Zeigler Tree Company is a mixed bag at best. Office ladies were friendly and very proficient so that part of the experience was a 5/5. Manager Korey, not nearly as much he's more a 1/5. When it comes to surveying the job he's on it. Collecting full payment for partial work that could not be completed due to inclement weather he's great. But please expect to have to harp him to have the work done that you paid in full. Unanswered texts and no return calls. Thanks to one of the tree trimmers sent to do my job at least 2 of the 5 trees I had worked on look awesome. read more

Very Disappointed in this company. Was left with a huge crack at the end of the driveway. When questioned the company spokesman states they are not liable for any damage to driveways or cement on the property. Consumers beware when signing contracts. Gave us a very reasonable quote. Showed up on time. Knew what they were doing and had the right equipment and personnel. Polite and professional. Worked diligently and finished the removal of 6 trees in just a couple of hours including cleanup. Cleaned up yard and street after they finished. Top notch job. We just used Zeigler after purchasing a home that had the trunk of a red oak two feet away from the foundation. Zeigler's estimate was competitive and Scooter told us much more about the health of the tree than the other companies did. Watching their foreman and crew was like watching a conductor and orchestra. Neighborhood kids came out to watch! They cleaned up our yard nicely, grinding all the surface roots that had taken over our front yard. We will definitely be using them again to remove some pines from the backyard. read more

I needed some limbs cut on a new property I purchased for my business & called Zeigler for a quote. After getting several quotes Zeigler was the best price & I figured with all the billboards & trucks I see around town they must be good right?!! I decided to make an appointment with them & this is where things started going downhill. Sean Carter the guy who gave me the estimate wouldn't return my emails or calls for a day or so & I wanted to get this scheduled asap considering we are in hurricane season. I called the office & Colleen told me to set the appt with Sean but I told her he doesn't respond quick enough & that I needed a Saturday appointment since we are open for business during the week. Colleen replied that their next Saturday they could come out was the 10th. I replied that that date worked for me! The Friday before I noticed I hadn't heard from Zeigler to confirm my appt but there was a storm coming but it shifted to Lake Charles so I figured these tree guys will just show up. Saturday morning, I called the office to confirm & no one answered so I left a message thinking oh they will be there. After not seeing any activity on my doorbell cam I called back bc there was another number on their voicemail to call (probably the owner) so I tried that number, no answer so I left a voicemail. After some time that evening seeing they weren't going to show I thought dang this is terrible service & communication. Monday morning Collen at the office emailed me (not called) in response to my voicemail saying if I wanted to speak with someone about my missed appointment, I would have to wait for Sean who was out in the field for the day. I replied that my appointment was missed & if it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would like a call back from someone in charge of the scheduling to see what happened. It's Monday evening & no call from Sean, no call from anyone in charge & now I must start getting other quotes. Bottom line, Zeigler wasted my time, don't let them waste yours too. By the way, Saturday was BEAUTIFUL & they could have come out, or at the very minimum a courtesy call would have been nice to let me know they wouldn't be showing up. While I typed this up I got M&R Tree Removal to match Ziegler's quote & an appointment set for next Saturday = )) Call M&R!! read more

I cannot comment on the work the father of this business does but was disappointed in the son's work. Zeigler was hired to grid 10 stumps in my yard. The son came and grinder 4 stumps. Our contract stated that each stump was to be ground "6" below grade". The 4 stumps the son attempted were ground "1-6"" above grade. He was paid and asked to leave. When we questioned Korey he stated that he could not grind the stumps further as that would " hurt" his equipment. When he had come to the house a few days prior to give us a quote he stated that the stumps could easily be leveled. I would think before hiring this business. read more

I'm writing to hopefully save other tree customers the scam I was taken advantage of this spring from Zeigler Tree. I had 2 dead trees and that was the job I requested. Instead, the owner's son came out to my house and wrote out an invoice for an "air spade" treatment when I mentioned my yard needed to have the soil aerated, and Zeigler tree scheduled that to be done first and for the outrageous price of $1250.00. It was a totally unsatisfactory job, the yard looked like a few fence posts had been removed, the 2 workers didn't not put the holes into the yard as deep or spaced apart as they were to do, and when I called the owner of Zeigler tree, he texted me back later that I "insulted him" and could call him back "to apologize" !! I was the customer and he took advantage of me in this situation, I contacted another tree company and had my tree removal done in a timely manner as scheduled, and wasn't given an invoice of all this other over priced options, when I just wanted my 2 dead trees removed. Zeigler Tree Co. was the rudest and worst yard service company so do not use them at all. The owner never called me back and over charged me for a job that wasn't even done correctly nor even the right treatment for a yard core aeration service. Do not let Zeigler treat you as I was a victim of total financial abuse and when contacting the company was treated as such. Be aware of this tree service company. They are not to be trusted and do not treat the customer well at all. read more
