I DO NOT recommend JJVA for families seeking true development and support for their athletes in volleyball team play. Unless your child is placed on the top-tier "Team A," their growth, well-being, and concerns may be overlooked or dismissed by the staff. In addition to the inequitable treatment of athletes, it's troubling that JJVA entrusts teams to individuals presented as "experienced coaches" who, in reality, are parents of a player on another team at the same facility but have ZERO qualifications to be an ACTUAL volleyball coach---to the point in the FIRST TOURNAMENT GAME, the REFEREES HAD TO STOP the GAME AT PLAY to TEACH the COACH HOW TO DO HER JOB from HOW TO ROTATE PLAYERS/ HOW TO SUBSTITUTE A PLAYER, ETC.---ALL WHILE THE FACILITY WAS PACKED WITH HUNDEREDS OF PATRONS WHO PAID $$$ for legit competition. This undermines the integrity of the program and the experience athletes and families expect when they commit time and resources to a competitive club. This message is shared not out of bitterness, but out of huge disappointment--and in the hope that it may help other families make informed decisions and encourage JJVA to reflect on how ALL athletes deserve respect, support, and have qualified guidance. read more

Very nice facility with 16 or possibly more courts. Rows of courts are separated by a wall, courts next to each other are not, so balls bounce from court to court sometimes. They have all sorts of signage saying not to bring food inside and during tournaments they have a snack bar that has Chic-fil-a sandwiches, hotdogs, fruit and assorted snacks. There is limited bleacher seating and for tournaments which are long, I would suggest the stadium seat adapter for your back. I am only a visitor to the facility, so I don't know about some of the inner politics of the facility noted in other reviews. I hear there is a lot of it, but that is just what I have heard from others, so don't hold me to that. read more

Theirs ample comfortable space. You will receive a packet informing you of all the Fitness Services that are available. Including Zumba. I am very excited. Not only about attending this class. But also, about meeting other people from the Yelp Community, that are interested in Pilates a combination of yoga and cardio. My first class is Tuesday January 9, 2018. Wow! I had been to the old facility off of Phillips Highway and thought that was impressive but coming here to tge new location I was blown away. Our daughter took volleyball lessons at the old place a few years ago and we wanted her to go again. This time I have to say it was even better. Coach Holley who worked with the Volley Stars was very friendly and made sure to explain the rules to the kids as well as the parents. The kids were split up by age and levels and then given different coaches with whom they would work. The facility itself was very impressive. There were two sides with several volleyball courts on each side. There was also work out rooms and batting cages. With all that's going on there, I can understand why they ask that kids who aren't playing a sport stay with there parents. I'm glad that we decided to bring our daughter back and am eager to see the results. read more

The worst volleyball club ever! Communication is awful. They herd you through lines as soon as you try out to take your money and don't give you any time to read over contracts or anything else. Our daughter was trying out for a club team and was recruited by a travel team coach for her team for a certain position. We were told she would never leave the court. None of that came to fruition. They take over the USAV and AAU memberships and you have no access. The team mother excluded us from texts and team bonding events. When we finally had enough and let them know we would not be coming back, we received a bill the next day so they could take even more money. The coach that didn't keep her promises kept our daughter from playing on another team and actually smirked at her about it, she is 14 years old. Horrible, horrible experience! Go anywhere but here for your child to play volleyball. read more

This would be 0 stars if I could rate it that way. This place is the worst. It's a money racket. We've had two terrible experiences with them. Several months ago they had me pay for my 6 year old son at one of the tournaments. The policy online said 6 and under were free, so I'm in there paying for myself when Ms. Beasley walks up and told us we had to pay for my son too. I told her that online it said 6 and under were free, but she said that wasn't right only 5 and under were free. Now that we're in the midst of COVID-19, our daughter wanted to play in the AAU season and tournament because the remainder of her season was cancelled. A week before the AAU tournament, someone in my household tested positive for COVID with some symptoms. I emailed and informed her coach she wouldn't be playing because it wasn't fair to her or her teammates to not practice and then come to the tournament, not to mention, we didn't want to expose anyone else to the virus. She literally went to two practices. We requested a refund at that time. Ms. Beasley emailed a week later (after the tournament was over) saying they couldn't issue a refund because of my "extremely late notice of non attendance". It is unbelievable to me, in this time of constant change and uncertainty, that the association is not being flexible and working with people as cases arise. Did they really want me to bring my daughter to practices let alone the event and expose everyone else? Skyline is the best association in the area and it's not a money racket! I'd choose them any day over JJVA! read more

The Director of this club is extremely rude. He has no respect for parents. The parking is a nightmare....not to mention dangerous. I don't recommend this club. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

This facility is ridiculous. Yes. It's new and nice but they are crazy with the rules. We received multiple emails threatening to disqualify teams that brought any outside food in (this is the only gym in my 11 years of coaching to ever make threats like this) and when I was off from playing and had my two kids with me on an open court I was told they needed to sit in the stands because their insurance didn't cover them if they fell. Seriously... making a 2 and a 4 year old sit for an entire match waiting for Mom to be done coaching is enough but to then make the rules so they can't move around during some off time is absolutely ridiculous. If your books are so tight you can't allow a bag of Doritos in from the outside world or you can't afford liability insurance to include the potential of being sued MAYBE you should re-evaluate your business plan. This is a family thing and to discourage siblings and spectators that drove hours to be here from being able to move around is a little crazy. I'm disappointed in what this facility is doing for the sport. I will be requesting my Club not sign up for any more of these tourneys. read more

We have been participants at this facility for numerous years and things have progressively worsened in that time. First and foremost, to participate here for regional club volleyball is extremely expensive comparative to other associations, which for the right results is not a show stopper. Communication here is absolutely atrocious. The majority of the staff seems to walk around lackadaisical with no one clearly in charge of anything. Parents concerns are not addressed nor is anyone approachable at any given time. Additionally, the staff assesses the girls talent and from that put together teams. This would be a legitimate strategy except the top talent goes on the top couple of teams leaving the other teams to fail dramatically. Furthermore, when planning for tournaments JJVA fails to execute due to poor planning, causing tournaments that are supposed to be hosted at JJVA being relocated to local high schools. Part of the expense is to utilize the JJVA facilities, but this goes by the wayside at the convenience of the JJVA staff. One more point with the relocation, the top talented teams aren't the ones relocating, go figure. In addition, JJVA forces parents to stay at particular hotels when traveling, that are often way more expensive than other options, which they conveniently call "stay to play". This means unless you stay at one of the designated hotels, your player will not be able to participate. Although they have never admitted to this fact, the hotels that they are affiliated with seem to up-charge in order to meet the quota that will provide staff free rooms. Trust me when I tell you, this is not the association you want to be affiliated with, unless of course you are comfortable with receiving subpar customer service, total disregard of communication, and abiding by stringent rules that are only benefiting the stakeholders not the customers. read more

We are very disappointed with Regionals JJVA. Our team moral is very low and it shows on their game scores. We had 11 players at one point and our daughters do not get much floor time. On top of this, our coach thinks is o.k to have her daughter on our team (her child is 2 years younger than other players). The coach NEVER took her daughter out of ANY GAMES and made her the captain of the team. Her daughter is not by any means a better player than any of the other kids on the floor. The coaches poor decisions made for a very sad, disappointing, demoralizing environment for the team as a whole. She never developed a team at all, it was a bunch of girls that would cater to her and her daughters needs. Coach by fear, all the parents were afraid to say something in fear of retribution from the coach and JJVA staff. read more
