We stopped into Twin Liquors, a Texas-based chain with a huge selection of wine, spirits, beer, non-alcoholic alternative options, mixers, gifts, and more! We were staying over with friends and brought them some drinks as a gift. The San Marcos store was bright, clean, and dog friendly! The staff gushed over Brie and there are treats behind the counter for good boys and girls. Of course, with all delicate bottles lining the shelves, use caution while walking the aisles. It was nice to see Texas made beverages like Rebecca Creek Distillery, Deep Eddy Vodka, and even Titos Vodka is made in Austin, TX! There is also so much more! Between my poor brain recalling correct pins across multiple accounts and one ratty debit card whose replacement I'm awaiting, the cashier was a patient kind soul throughout my fumbling (my fault!) transaction. She offered a box for my purchase for which I was grateful. Mr. R came back later that evening for gin and soda, and enjoyed a smooth experience as usual. They have regular changing sales which are worth watching out for, and an app where you can order local delivery.

For about 20 years one constant in San Marcos was that you could roll up to the Yellow Store for the cheapest gas in town... and the price on the sign was 2-3 cents cheaper when you got to the pump. Went there last Tuesday... not only was it not the cheapest in town, it was 20 cents more expensive than H‑E‑B a few blocks away. First they knock down Triple Crown... then Paper Bear closes... now this. At least we can still find a legendary Bloody Mary at The Showdown.

I would like to give grace and assume she was new, but it was the same cashier as last time. Despite explaining to her why the discount should be applied, she acted as if I was doing her a disservice by me asking for her to look at it again, and then to to have her head cashier verify.
