Even an hour before the ceremony the took leaf blowers to the area where the ceremony was to take place outside just to make sure it was spotless. They recommended using their caterers, Andre's, and the food was amazing. Andre's sure does take the tangle out of tying the knot. They recommended we use their bakery, Harter's. They even paid for our basic cake and all we had to pay was for cake upgrades. The cake Harter's made was exceptional. We even used their recommendation for the wedding DJ, Complete Weddings and Events. The DJ kept the party going but didn't make the night about him. We had 150 guests at our reception and the venue easily accommodated that. My rating: BEST

Recently, several public golf courses on the Missouri side of the river must think they are something special. The rates have gone up and the courses have not kept up on 75% of our local layouts. Annbriar has been different. They've kept up the course nicely and their prices have settled in to slightly better than average for similar courses. Courses like Tappawingo and Aberdeen are not taking good care of their links but they are raising their prices. I'd much rather drive 30 minutes, pay $10-$25 less per round on a better course! Only minor critique is their younger staff need to be coached a bit on customer service. They guys at the bag drop are fine, but some of the staff working the bar / snack counter aren't rude, but it is clear, you're not their first priority. If you love a good golf design at a great price, head to Columbia and play Annbriar!

Having lived all over the Country I have been lucky enough to be able to play some truly…read morespectacular Golf Courses that are pristine and extremely expensive. I didn't even rate some of those courses as 5 Stars for various reasons whether it be the price, staff, or course conditions. Indian Springs is a wonderful course in southern Illinois that presents unexpected challenges and forces a player to use all 14 clubs in their bag. It isn't a 5 Star Course based on Bent Grass, hosting a PGA event or towering fairway bunkers but rather due to the prices, owners, and use of the terrain implemented into their design. This is a wonderful course that has various leagues, hosts tournaments, and treats its guests like friends. Most importantly (to me) is the fact that the owners are beyond friendly and extremely hospitable. I love visiting Indian Springs because she makes me feel like family and is genuinely excited to see me and always thanks me for my Military Service. I won't be playing here for a few years as I move to England but I like forward to coming back next time I'm in Southern Illinois visiting.
