But since I needed to make a Costco run (and I'd mentally prepared myself for it) I decided to visit the east side Kohl's off of Federal Road. After this one-time experience , I think I'll stick with the one in Brewster. The outside of the store is kind of messy and looks like it's not maintained....it could literally be abandoned and you wouldn't tell the difference. You walk in and it's a standard Kohl's, only more tired and flatter. I know that may be hard to picture but when you go to the Brewster Kohl's and walk in, there's always a bright, seasonal display that is very welcoming and puts you in the mood to shop. Here, it was just a mess of carts haphazardly sitting around in the entry and some luggage that I wasn't sure was on display or was just waiting to be stocked. The selection was okay and they had stock, but there were a few areas that it looked like stocking had started but then been abandoned halfway through. Like boxes and carts and ladders just sitting in aisles and between racks. Not a big deal and maybe they're gearing up for back to school but just a little messy. What was the least appealing thing about this place is how long it takes to check out. We were the second people in line and just wanted to purchase one pair of swim trunks. It took a long time and there were no self service options such as they have at Brewster. Some dude had a complex return apparently so it took three cashiers several minutes to resolve that while the line kept growing. Then when we got to the cashier, he seemed really burnt out, which I can get and I empathize with. So a self-service option would have been quicker and a better experience. Anyway, the key takeaway from this review is that if you're in the greater Danbury metro area, take a ride on 84 West to Brewster and check out the Kohl's near the Southeast train station.

One side of the recliner quit working sometime in early July. A repairman came out to the house on 7/25 (not a La-Z-Boy employee, their service is done by a third-party outsource). He supposedly diagnosed the problem. Parts were ordered, taking about 2 weeks to get. Second appointment with tech to install parts on 8/7. Unfortunately, new motherboard (MCM BT) doesn't solve the problem. Technician can't get the product working and doesn't have a clue what's wrong. Tells me the loveseat needs to be replaced and writes report to Corporate to such effect. Tech tells me to call Corporate office and speak to a Supervisor, which I attempt on 8/8. No answer. Leave message. No call-back. I call Corporate again on 8/9 and speak to 'Leona'. Ask to speak with a Supervisor and am told there is only one person working (Alessio). End-up speaking with 'MaKayla' who tells me that Corporate has approved replacement credit, and that I need to now proceed with the local retailer (in Milford, CT). Call salesman who sold us the product on 8/12. Left message. No call-back. Speak to him on 8/13 only to find out he doesn't know anything about the "paperwork authorizing the replacement credit," but will look into it. Now it's August 19 and all I hear are crickets. THIS ENTIRE PROCESS IS RIDICULOUS, FRUSTRATING, & EXHAUSTING. I am so disgusted and disappointed in La-Z-Boy's customer service (with the exception of MaKayla B.), with their third-party field service who seems inept at best, and with the quality of their product. And they are supposed to be the PREMIER BRAND in the category? I don't think so. At this point, I just want my money back -- all $3,339.37. Please bring the check when you pick-up the loveseat! BTW, if you think my review is the exception, I urge you to dig deeper online. Thousands and thousands of La-Z-Boy customers are dissatisfied with either the product or with their customer service. Now I recommend VL to all of you. We have been shopping for lighting as we update the outside of our 1970's CT colonial and our kitchen. Countless websites with thousands of pictures led to some frustration and we decided to go visit some lighting stores. Some stores may be highly recommended but are really for designers, they are by appointment only, have a very limited supply for a showroom, but offer a really big screen so you can browse their website (ugh!) Others have a bigger supply in the showroom and have nice people who understand lighting. Then there is Valley Lighting! They had a huge selection to look at (and touch) a friendly staff who really knew their inventory, availability and options and were also full of ideas that made us open up the options we were considering. We worked with Zac and he was really great as we waffled on every aspect from design, color, and size. We settled on a design for the outdoor lights in about 20 minutes, after searching for the last several weeks. We purchased 2 Large, 2 Medium, and 2 Small lights to mount on the exterior as well as 3 post lights for the driveway. They also had a huge selection of lightbulbs and guided us through witch wattage and color would work best for our application. This seems elementary that a lighting store would do this, but I haven't seen it elsewhere. We were able to bring home two lights which I mounted (pictured) and the rest were ordered and we expect them in 2 weeks. Now that we accomplished this project it is time to finalize the kitchen lights and for that we will certainly return to VL.

These fine folks will steal your money if they can. Please be careful. To add insult to injury, since the deposit was more than six months earlier, we could not even leave a negative review on Etsy. Etsy agreed with us that Amish Spirit was wrong, but Etsy could no longer legally protect us. We and Etsy have documentation of everything, written and photographic.
