I have used Joann's for years for all of my tailoring needs. They have always done a wonderful job for me -- including essentially re-making several bridesmaid dresses which included a lot of detail work. It definitely was not inexpensive but that work was always exceptional. I've also had several friends have Joann alter their wedding dresses and they have been very pleased as well. The turn around time is usually 1-2 weeks but if you need things faster they're usually good about it. I always recommend Joann's. read more

I would not recommed this tailor. I have tried them twice and both times it was a terrible experience. First time, they hemmed my pants too short and did not leave enough too add any length at all. My pants were ruined. The second time, they put a shorter zipper replacement in than was the original and did not finish the hem basting and it was coming undone! They told me the zipper was the same length as the original I wanted replaced, which was not true. If that was the case, how come I cannot get my pants on now!!! I was so excited to finally put on my wedding dress for the big day! My best friend zipped me up and buttoned the little clasp at the top.... I then sat down to put on my shoes and that little clasp broke! For the next few hours my friends and family attempted to sew and pin me into my dress!! My bras have more than one hook/clasp on it!! That one little hook was not nearly sufficient to hold the dress up. Something should have been added to make it more secure! It seems obvious to me now, and I'm angry with myself for not questioning her work more, but I trusted her, she's the professional right? During alterations she noticed the hook needed to be reinforced. And she did that... Unfortunately her "reinforced hook " was insufficient ! I had not gained 1 pound since the fitting, and the dress fit snug, just right. Unfortunately, as soon as I moved the dress fell off!!! I was under the impression I had been sent here because they had a lot of experience altering wedding dresses....I'm not sure if they do... Or maybe they just don't care to make sure the dress they are altering is going to stay on for one day! We had a beautiful wedding, too bad I spent so much time trying to keep my dress up! read more

They hemmed my daughters prom dress and it was about an inch too long. They said they could not get to it for another two weeks which was after the prom. My daughter stepped on the dress and tore it during the prom. I took it back and asked that they shorten it so that it no longer looked torn. They JUST shortened where it was torn so the hem is now uneven. I don't know if this because they have such poor english or just poor workmanship but we are looking for a different tailor this prom season! read more

I have used Joann's for the last several years and they give outstanding service!! I would highly recommend. I can tend to be quite the procrastinator and they are always very prompt in my emergency. Yes for a one-day turnaround they charge a little extra...I would too! I had a valence sewn on to a BABY curtain (2). (straight stitch) I asked the price and the lady told me she would call me with the price. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. A week later I went back in and was charged $40.00. I told her no one called with a price (as I thought this was a little steep). Her response was while sewing a needle was broken. I will find a different shop next time. read more
