The resort fee seems a bit high but we did enjoy the observation deck at Prudential building that was included. The club lounge was good and restaurant on second level. Only complaint was the bathtub and shower was outdated. Victoria at concierge desk was very helpful.

I've been coming here on and off for decades and sadly the trendline is down. From the…read moredecor/finishings in the rooms, to the 72-hour cancellation policy to restaurant food to the surrounding mall which I'm guessing has been dead since Covid (and formerly was vibrant), it's all trending the wrong way. The worst is today I had a simply stunning "customer service" experience on their "Service Express" line which makes a joke of the whole concept. First I had to call on speaker because the phone was broken. Second, the agent was combative beyond imagination trying to convince that I'd left my DND tag on the door -- when we absolutely didn't -- because they'd failed to restock the in-room coffee (but, uh uh, made up the room -- so more proof that DND was not on the door). She was the worst listener ever, interrupting me the entire time. Final hint: if you don't want people to complain in public, give them a way to do so in private. You've got not public email, the Twitter link to your account gives a 404 error, and I'm not calling the Service Express line to complain about Service Express.

The renovations here were absolutely worth the wait. I love the new spaces, and the redesigned…read moreExecutive Lounge is stunning. This is a large conference hotel, and over several stays I've consistently been impressed by the customer service. My first visit was while the hotel was still under construction. I actually lucked out with a lower rate because of some of the negative reviews at the time, but what stood out to me was the hotel's transparency. Before I arrived, they sent a note explaining the construction and even provided bonus Marriott points for the inconvenience. I also found the rooms to be exceptionally clean and spacious, which is why I continued returning throughout the renovation period. The location is another major plus. It's an excellent area for walking, shopping, and dining. I just returned for a one-night stay and was honestly disappointed that I couldn't stay longer to enjoy all of the updated amenities. Kaiya at the front desk checked me in with such genuine warmth that it restored my faith in hospitality after a few disappointing experiences elsewhere in Boston. I had a last-minute work schedule change and needed an extra night after I couldn't extend my stay at my previous hotel, and the welcome made all the difference. The housekeeping staff were also warm and friendly, and Haley was incredibly prompt and helpful. Boston is an expensive city, but I believe this hotel offers outstanding value for the nightly rate. Between the beautiful renovations, excellent service, spacious rooms, and convenient location, it's become one of my favorite places to stay. I can't wait to come back. Valet parking is $72 so may want to consider a nearby lot of street parking which is free 8pm-8am: you would just need to review the signs carefully

This is the worst Marriott property I have stayed in. The rooms were incredibly small, featuring…read moretwo full size instead of two queens. The walls were PAPER THIN, where you could hear the entire conversation and movements of your neighbors. We were placed near the elevator, which can be heard humming and squeaking through the paper thin walls all night. Our room was not clean, with streaks and smear all over the interior of the windows. Our bed sheets had a hole in them. The bathroom tub has grout that was crumbling and falling into the tub. While the location is convenient and walkable to much of Back Bay, I'd prefer to stay elsewhere on our next trip to the city next month. There was black mold on the ceiling of the shower. Maid service did not bring us any washcloths, only hand towels.
