The renovations here were absolutely worth the wait. I love the new spaces, and the redesigned Executive Lounge is stunning. This is a large conference hotel, and over several stays I've consistently been impressed by the customer service. My first visit was while the hotel was still under construction. I actually lucked out with a lower rate because of some of the negative reviews at the time, but what stood out to me was the hotel's transparency. Before I arrived, they sent a note explaining the construction and even provided bonus Marriott points for the inconvenience. I also found the rooms to be exceptionally clean and spacious, which is why I continued returning throughout the renovation period. The location is another major plus. It's an excellent area for walking, shopping, and dining. I just returned for a one-night stay and was honestly disappointed that I couldn't stay longer to enjoy all of the updated amenities. Kaiya at the front desk checked me in with such genuine warmth that it restored my faith in hospitality after a few disappointing experiences elsewhere in Boston. I had a last-minute work schedule change and needed an extra night after I couldn't extend my stay at my previous hotel, and the welcome made all the difference. The housekeeping staff were also warm and friendly, and Haley was incredibly prompt and helpful. Boston is an expensive city, but I believe this hotel offers outstanding value for the nightly rate. Between the beautiful renovations, excellent service, spacious rooms, and convenient location, it's become one of my favorite places to stay. I can't wait to come back. This is the worst Marriott property I have stayed in. The rooms were incredibly small, featuring two full size instead of two queens. The walls were PAPER THIN, where you could hear the entire conversation and movements of your neighbors. We were placed near the elevator, which can be heard humming and squeaking through the paper thin walls all night. Our room was not clean, with streaks and smear all over the interior of the windows. Our bed sheets had a hole in them. The bathroom tub has grout that was crumbling and falling into the tub. While the location is convenient and walkable to much of Back Bay, I'd prefer to stay elsewhere on our next trip to the city next month. There was black mold on the ceiling of the shower. Maid service did not bring us any washcloths, only hand towels. read more

Let me start by saying that we didn't actually stay in the hotel. But I don't think I needed to. This place was LUXURIOUS! They treated us like royalty from the time we got there. The hotel is huge and has gigantic ballrooms and meeting rooms. It's also attached to a giant indoor mall. The mall was super busy, not like I'm used to at all. Multiple business and restaurants. Even a fed ex. We enjoyed our time in the mall and then came back to the lobby of the Sheraton. The bartender was amazing. We just loved her. We ordered multiple drinks and I ordered some clam chowder because I couldn't eat my lunch. It was one of the best. I'm very critical of my sea food. Haven't been to New Orleans, very few places compare. Well Boston, and the Sheraton knocked it out of the park. I had to stop myself from licking the bowl. It's also served with cornbread which was very interesting to me. We had some drinks and then had to move on. Be prepared they were expensive. Ak espresso martini was about $28. Convenient location - connected to Prudential mall. Rooms were nice and spacious. They had a great gym (dumbbells, machines, mats, TRX straps, treadmills, rowers, etc.) and a pool. What was initially confusing for me was that the treadmills and rowers were separated from the rest of the gym in a separate cardio room, accessible by either going out through the pool or going back into the hallways around the pool. They were always well stocked with water, towels, and earbuds in the gym. If you have access to the lounge, the had a large variety food that they frequently rotated. This is the nicest Sheraton I've ever seen. I was already familiar with its publicly accessible walkway to the Prudential Center and had chosen it for convenience, but I was pleasantly surprised by the service and well-appointed room and common areas. I was upgraded to a room with a king-sized bed on a high floor with a cityscape view. The bathroom was a solid, happy medium between the Four Seasons' marble bathrooms and the no frills bathrooms in mid-tier hotels in the greater Boston area--immaculate, modern, and well-stocked with fairly luxurious soap and bath products. The only negative was early morning hallway noise, so i recommended bringing ear plugs for light sleepers. Check in and check out could not have gone more smoothly. read more

Arrived at this hotel only to find out they overbooked and didn't have a room for me even though they confirmed I had a reservation. The manager said they give rooms as first come, regardless of when the reservation was made (mine was made 3 months prior). They did not tell me this until I arrived by uber to the hotel ($$) and could have saved time/ money by alerting me before so I could have made other arrangements or gone directly to another hotel from the airport. Very poorly handled. They sent me to a sketchy MOtel 30min away since it was around midnight and there was nothing else available in the area. I have stated at this hotel every April for business in Boston for the last 16 years. There has been a lot of changes renovations etc from Starwood to Bonvoy. In 2025 when the hotel wasn't finished with their renovations I was treated like royalty getting an upgrade to a sweet, free brekfast tickets etc. In 2026 the hotel is finished with renovations. I checked in, got a small room. Someone from housekeeping left a half drank bottle of water, a glass of ? Bed sheets and a wrist ban on the tv stand. I brought this fact to the attention of the front desk person I checked in. She apologized. She said she could move into the room next door which was disabled folks. I thanked her but I declined. I cleaned up the room and checked to make sure everything else was ok. I was supposed to get an amenity nothing. Room was clean and tiny. New lounge on lobby floor was nice. Breakfast was hot and evening reception was good. That was the best thing art if stay. On checkout early Monday I asked for a copy of bill. Nothing. Unlike 2025 felt like I was just a customer. Anyway the hotel looks nice. No business center in hotel you have to pay to use fedex office. Hilton properties always have a business center, a printer to access or they what I need. Anyway I am still waiting for my nights and points. I have contacted Bonvoy. We will see. BTW I always get points and nights in Courtyards, , Residence Inns, and Towneplace suites. read more

The Sheraton Boston - or Sheraton Back Bay - or Sheraton Copley - whatever the heck you want to call it - is not worth the money you spend for the room. Long lines all the time. Waiting until 7:30 pm to get our room cleaned. Fifty percent of the elevators out of service. I could go on but, really, why bother? Next time I will stay at the Mandarin Oriental or any other hotel. Good location, not worth the money. No grab bar in the shower. The couch (sleeper) in the suite was extremely heavy and situated right under the a/c and to the side of the tv...so you were cold and had to crook your neck to see the tv. We moved it for our four night stay, then moved it back. Bar is expensive. Breakfast was very good, and for $20 when paid for at booking was decent value. The bathroom on the fifth floor was locked all the time. Scratchy towels. The hop on/hop off bus that was recommended was not worth the $170 for two for two days...spent more time waiting for the next bus, or transfer to another bus. We stayed at this hotel before going to a show at MGM. It's wonderful that it connects right to the Prudential, and we love to eat at Earls while there. The hotel itself is family and dog friendly, dispersed with multiple professionals/conference goers. The restaurant Henderson in the lobby is fair. The cocktails were OK however I have to say I had the worst Boston cream pie of my life there. We just had dessert and a cocktail. We did not have anything else to eat. It's right out in the open in the middle of the lobby. Our room was lovely. We got a junior suite facing the river, I would say the only downside would be that the bathroom is extremely extremely small with a standup shower only, no tub. When I say small, I would say that two people could not come to even stand in there together. I love the location and we will definitely be back. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. I booked a standard Queen Room, but upon arrival, I was assigned a handicap-accessible room without any prior notice or consultation. The layout is not what I paid for; the bathroom features a roll-in floor shower with no bathtub, which is not what I expected or wanted for my stay. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk and requested a move to the standard room type I actually reserved, they flatly refused to change my room or offer a solution. It is incredibly frustrating to pay for a specific room category only to be forced into a different configuration and then met with zero flexibility from management. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want to ensure you actually get the room you book. The only options they offered was upgrading a room for extra cost even though the room I booked was not available. This is extremely unacceptable and extremely poor customer service. My wife and I talked to the hotel multiple times and they refused to offer to move us to the proper room. read more

I booked a two night stay at Sheraton Boston in September 2025. Upon check-in, I was informed that the hotel was full. This appeared to be due to a conference, and at least three others were also turned away like me. They offered me a room at TownePlace Suites by Framingham. However, this was well outside of Boston limits so I declined accommodations. Instead I slept on my coworker's floor at his hotel room. I requested compensation under Bonvoy's Ultimate Reservation Guarantee which clearly states: "If a Participating Property is unable to honor the reservation, it will pay for comparable accommodation nearby for the Elite Member that night and compensate the Member for the inconvenience." Compensation is clearly noted as $200 and 90,000 Points. However, Kyle Vandine, Director of Room Operations, emailed that Ultimate Guarantee compensation does not apply using unsupported statements including: 1. "Due to the fact that you chose to cancel and not relocate to this new property, the benefit does not apply." (not true) 2. "Additionally, the $200 payment is administered in cash and must be both requested and processed when the issue occurs or before departing the property." (not true) 3. "... appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective regarding the Ultimate Reservation Guarantee which falls under the Elite Benefits Guarantee umbrella." I stay at this hotel every year for an anime convention, and it never disappoints! This time, I had an especially great interaction with Desiree at the front desk--super helpful and welcoming. It really pays to have loyalty to this hotel brand because they always take care of returning guests. The hotel has definitely been showing its age, but I can see the improvements--the rooms have been refreshed, and they're actively working on updating the lobby and restaurant. The gym looks amazing, and they still have one of the biggest perks: the only covered pool in the downtown area (to my memory). EXPERIENCE IN GIFT SHOP AND ROOM SERVICE/HOUSEKEEPING This time was an off visit ...First I was at the gift shop. I entered and the No greeting... even a simple HI! The guy was picking at his nails. I greeted him and no response. Then after I chose what I needed and wanted to use my room charge, HE had me fill out the personal form on the clip board. Mind you I can see everyone else's private info too as he continued to mess with his nasty nails!!! Ive been in the gift shop before and this was the first time encountering this individual. Later that day same attitude with housekeeping. No situational awareness. I decided to try out room service because they are renovating the hotel and the restaurant and coffee place is not open. I stayed here for a few, during a visit to Boston. There is a dearth of great hotels at bargain prices and the older hotels like the Sheraton lures good renters like me. I don't necessarily want an apartment when I travel but during cold weather seasons it's smart to stay at the Copley with 4 large hotels from which to choose. The Sheraton won out for 3 reasons a) price b) a free upgrade to a water view room and c) its in the Copley where I can walk indoors to many great restaurants, shops and coffee without having to layer into winter clothing. And I loved the experience here. The Sheraton is a large full service hotel. While the hotel is on the verge of a major redesign, I caught it soon enough before the grand update. The rooms were comfortable, slightly older, bathrooms are small but the space I got was more than enough. The daily room service on the top floor where I was upgraded for free was attentive and unobtrusive. You are asked as you leave your room in the morning when you'd like service if at all. I love that. Overall it was very comfy stay. The club lounge was closed this season so excuse the older Yelp photos from previous stays that auto upload as I post this review. Stayed here recently for a very large conference which was at the Boston Convention Center, which is about 2 miles from here. Checking in wasn't very nice nor friendly, the ladies they had working the counter were very curt, unprofessional, and far from welcoming... their attitude was as if they were doing me a favor. There were about 20 coworkers that I discussed this with and they all had the same complaint about their check-in process. The rest of the staff (housekeeping, those walking around, etc) I encountered were actually very friendly. Seems like the front desk is the only staff which are entitled and empowered to act as poorly as they do. I got a recently refurbished room on the 26th floor and it was nice. Everything in it was new and very up-to-date, such as the bed having USB and AC outlets in the headboard. The room I got had a living room with pull out bed and TV and the separate bedroom (separated by a door) also had a TV and chair... so if staying with multiple people, it's a comfy room for privacy and space. They also have hi-speed elevators to get guests up to the 26th (and above) floor from the lobby. The hotel is attached to the Prudential Center which is a large, very popular mall with many eateries and stores. This property is a quick, 2 block walk from Newbury St, which is a very nice, neighborhood community/walk with tons of shopping and dining options. Overall, aside from the check-in experience, the stay was great. I would normally just knock off a star for a single issue, but the level of service me and my coworkers experienced brings the stay down to 3 stars. read more

My family and I experienced a terrifying and unsafe situation while staying at this hotel on the first night of our vacation. My daughter and I were confronted in the gym by a man while my son in the room experienced someone trying to key into the room . The security provided was less than helpful by devaluing our concern and not being able to demonstrate ability to provide us resolution or safety . We learned their floors lack security cameras including near elevators, they have no direct contact to security and the safety latch on the door was held together with 1 screw. We made the decision to leave late at night as we did not feel comfortable staying . We were told we would still be charged $52 for valet and that they would refund me when able for the room As an avid business and leisure traveler , I have never experienced such an unsafe scenario. read more

Our group of 11 booked 4 rooms from 10/10/25 thru 10/13/25 however, our bus ride from New York City was delayed. Every person called the hotel to inform them of the delay and one person called and emailed. We arrived at 3 am to find out, 3 of the rooms we booked with 2 double beds each were given away. The Manager came out to say there was an "emergency" but, really! Best they could do was give us roll always and say sorry! The Manager said he had to check to see how he could make it right for us. We were later given $100 off per night which we were okay with but, the whole ordeal wouldn't have been an issue if our rooms or beds weren't given away! Other issues were: The first night, as the front desk person walked to get the Manager, she looked at her co-worker and that co-worker rolled her eyes. The workers need to be re-trained, I felt as if I were at a Motel, you know, you get what you pay for! Rude Front Desk worker Desiree (the 2nd night); when discussing our bill we noticed taxes were taken off one day but not others. She snapped back saying, "that was a mistake but, you want me take it all off I could do that?" Our thoughts, OMG! Our friend in the other room and her 94 yr old mother had NO hot water for two days. When maintenance came, they left because she had the "do not disturb" sign on the door, even though she had just made the call. They couldn't knock even once, I mean she called at 12 midnight so they knew she was there. I guess rules are rules and common sense doesn't kick in! Best part of the stay was speaking with the Hotel Concierge, an older gentleman who changed all of our moods. He was so pleasant and knew how to speak to hotel guests! You could mistake him for the GM instead of a Concierge worker, as the Hotel Managers all looked tired and not happy! Bottom-line, would not recommend this hotel to anyone other than find another BRAND! Think I'll stick to the Hilton brand, we haven't had experiences like this ever! read more

Multiple TV channels didn't work; I called front desk my 2nd day there. Repairman came to room at 10 PM(about 4 hours later). I asked him to come back next AM. He didn't. Still lack of TV channels on Day3. Called front desk about TV morning of Day 4. Tv working properly evening of Day4. No ice machine on my floor. Ordered a ginger ale from room service and asked for cup of ice. Ginger ale delivered without ice. Ordered room service food 3rd night. Asked for cup of ice. No ice delivered 3rd night. 4th night ordered hamburger which menu stated came with potato chips. Also ordered Cesar salad. Food delivered no potato chips and no salad dressing. Called rm serv. Got voice mail. Waited 15 minutes. No call back. Called again and after 15 minutes got the chips and salad dressing -do 30 minutes after hamburger delivered. All delivered in a paper bag for $44. I can get a hamburger and salad at a drive thru in a paper bag for one fourth the price. Also, empty body wash container in shower on last day. This is my second and last time I'll stay at Boston Sheraton. It wasn't like this when I stayed there in 2023. Stay there at your own risk read more

They are under construction. I wish they had said that when we booked. No restaurants or even a pantry in the hotel where we can buy something to eat. The noise is ridiculous. The last day we were here we had a paper under the door that we will have no water. The only good thing is that the hotel is attached to a mall and there are a lot of options to eat and places to go. The room is nice but very small. Big smart tv with Netflix. Big bottles of toiletries in the bathroom which we appreciate. If you're looking for a solid hotel that's close to the finish line for the Boston marathon, and easy access to the Hynes convention center (without waiting in that line for the expo) this hotel is a great choice! It was my first time staying here as I made a last-ish decision to be in Boston for marathon weekend and pretty much everything else was sold out (or super outrageous). I booked my hotel via the Marriott app for the best deal. I had hoped to check in earlier than 4 pm but my room wasn't ready and there was an upgrade that was a little more but I didn't need that kind of space. I checked my bags in with the concierge and went out for some sightseeing, as well as the expo. I got a call about an hour later saying my room was ready so I went back and checked in. Super easy. They are undergoing renovations so some of the restaurants aren't available but they do have a limited room service menu. However the Prudential center is right next door as well and they have so many food options to choose from. The room was clean. I was on the 22nd floor with a view of the street below. I ordered room service one night it came super fast and was hot. And the most important was the price was right. I checked out via the app. Checked my bags again with the concierge and walked over to watch my friends run the marathon. I was right on the corner of Hereford and Boylston. Amazing! read more

I'm going to give the Sheraton Boston Hotel a solid 4.5 stars. I'm not sure WHY the reviews in 2022 were so low, but I'm going to come on here and say that my husband and I had a wonderful experience. We booked our reservations in advance prior to knowing if we would get into the Boston Marathon - just in case the rates went up. We were glad we did because they were full / no vacancies weeks afterwards. The hotel is about 20-25 mins from the airport. We took a Lyft/Uber from airport to hotel and it was smooth (other than the normal Boston traffic during rush hour). The hotel check-in process was easy - we were given the 29th floor and the views were spectacular! Our large King bed was comfy, lots of drawers, outlets for chargers, HUGE TV, spacious bathroom and wonderful room accommodations. We front desk staff were communicative, very fast when we called down and asked for things, the cleaning people were friendly/polite and helped us get some supplies that we needed. On the 5th floor, you'll find the pool (great for families), pool lounge area, towels readily accessible, a strength gym room (weights, yoga mats, gym bench, etc) and a cardio room (think treadmill, Peloton bikes, elliptical machine). I used the gyms everyday and glad that they had these available as the weather was COLD and I didn't want to run outside! The reason why I had to deduct 1 star was because both Peloton Bikes were broken (the seats would not adjust). I saw the maintenance man working on the bikes but it was discouraging as one of the major factors of us booking this hotel was because they had Peloton bikes available. Please fix asap! The lobby area of this hotel is HUGE! Extremely spacious if you don't want to spend your free time in your hotel room, lots of seating, chairs, tables and they have a Side Bar area with TVs, food/dining/breakfast options. They have a large bathroom in their lobby as well! The best part of these hotel is that it is centrally located. There are various entry points and you can get to multiple Boston landmarks from this hotel. You can easily get to the Prudential Center / Mall (there is a Sweet Greens, Blue Bottle Coffee Shop, Pressed Cafe, and Eataly very very close to the hotel) and you can also have access points to the main streets of Boylston and Newbury! 4.5 stars out of 5, would recommend to family and friends. The room was not ready at the agreed time of 4PM. We arrived at 4:15. I'm a Bonvoy member. The TV did not work and had to be fixed. The toilet did not flush and had to be fixed. The room was not cleaned properly. Hair in the sink and lots of hair in the shower. The telephone had what appeared to be pet hair all over it and had not been cleaned at all. I expected a much more pleasurable stay especially at this Sheraton which we have stayed at in the past. I certainly hope that improvements are made. read more

We booked two rooms at the Sheraton Boston for one night based on location and price. The hotel is huge and the lobby looked very nice upon first entry. The front desk staff informed us our rooms were recently renovated, and they weren't bad, however the bathrooms were small and the shower head was way too low for anyone over 5'7". The body wash was also empty in both bathrooms. The water pressure was lacking as well. One of our rooms hadn't been cleaned yet when we checked in at 7pm (beds unmade, towels on the floor, trash on the counters, etc.). We had to store our luggage in the closet and wait for someone to clean it. Something was wrong with the AC in the other room. We had it set to 65 and it never made it below 72 and it felt humid. I should have mentioned something earlier, but coming from AZ I thought this was just the norm for AC on the east coast, until I saw how well the AC was working in our other room the next morning. When I checked out, nobody asked how my stay was so I told them anyway about the AC issue. There response was - "if you didn't tell us, we didn't know" so I said "Ok I'm telling you now.." A friendlier interaction would have been nice. I expected more from this hotel and while it served its purpose for our one night in Boston, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a typical Marriott experience. read more

The hotel itself was under renovation during my stay, so the lobby and dining area were closed, however, this did not take away from the comfortability of my stay. We've stayed here a few times now as this has been our conference hotel, but I will echo what I previously wrote in that I wouldn't stay here again if I could avoid it. The location is great and the room was clean, but the bed was very uncomfortable; the mattress was hard and the sheets were scratchy and very poor quality. The heating was also terrible in the room, which is not a good thing when you're in Boston in November. Avoid this one if you can. read more

Been staying at this hotel regularly for 20 years. It co times to spiral down, and this will be my last time for a while. The club lounge is permanently closed so the Marriott offers its premier guests complimentary in-room dining. Sounds good but it does not work. First, after you review the menu and call the extension, no one answers the phone. On Saturday, it took 20 minutes for someone to answer. On Sunday, I had to call front desk management to physically go over to the dining people to remove the automatic message that the in room dining was closed. When I finally did speak with someone, I could not place my order because the on-line me he did not match what was really offered. Numerous items were unavailable. What a blunder by Marriott/Sheraton management of this hotel. Very disappointing. read more
