The park is also dog friendly. The park was well kept. The bridge was nicely constructed. My first sight to see this type of bridge. Overall, I enjoyed walking on the peaceful and beautiful park alongside the White River.

I went here with my daughter and my seven-year-old grandson. It is called The Treehouse. It is…read morelocated at Plainfield Christian Church. It is at the children's center. Door 5 around back. There only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 to 11 and 1 to 3. For children ages 2 to 12 years old. When entering you have to check in at the kiosk or the front desk. The place that looks like a large treehouse with two different floors, three slides, and plenty of things to do within the treehouse. The top level with the two big slides are for kids 5 and up Because you have to climb a ladder to get to the second level. There is an area for the kids under two to play with all kinds of toys. Lots of things for kids to play on and play with such as a kitchen with all the fixing grocery carts that seem to be the most popular area. Also, there was a book rack that you could sit down and read a book and comfortable chairs and couches with large Ottomans. Blocks and small basket ball hoop. There is also a kitchen so parents you can get you a cuppa coffee or water or hot chocolate and watch your kids play. They also have snacks for the little ones, there is a refrigerator. The bathroom is in the same area so no leaving the room.

Fall Park is a beautiful retreat in the heart of Pendleton with a rich history. According to…read morehistorical plaques, indigenous people found refuse in the beautiful natural falls. Early settlers moved to the area in 1818 and harnessed the energy of the falls for milling and other uses. A cannery and quarry thrived on the banks of the beautiful creek. After which the area became a neglected dumping grounds. In 1919, a local business man had the vision to clean up the property and turn it into a park. Today, the park is beautiful with a massive modern playground, restroom facility, picnic pavilions, paths along the creek and naturally terraced falls. The quarry was turned into a lovely little pond complete with a folk art lighthouse. A quiet war memorial stands on the north side of the pond. I enjoyed my walk through the manicured grounds with gardens and shaded by large trees. Plenty of parking areas meander through the park. Fishing is permitted in the stream. The park is now host to annual events. This is a fabulous community park with beautiful natural elements, great facilities and a little history.

You can walk to Ohanalulu ice cream, INitaly, Edicta39 and more if you're looking for food while you play.

Next were the shelter and playground on the left of the drive. On the right side on a small hill was located multiple tennis and basketball courts. To the west was a baseball diamond. The maintenance crews were busy trimming and mowing which made my visit a bit shortened, but I was glad to see the park getting plenty of attention. The only negative I saw was that the permanent restrooms had experienced some vandalism; still working, but signs of damage to the walls and attempts on the plumbing left me shaking my head. Highland Park is a huge community park in Kokomo with lots of green space, recreational spaces and…read morea historic covered bridge. What I like best about the park are the mature trees that provide lots of shade. Some of the trees are over 400 years old. There is a huge colorful playground with climbing structures, swings and slides. The base is a mix of mulch and soft matting. Benches line the area for parents to sit and watch kids . (The equipment could use a good cleaning from the trees.) There are two ball diamonds with bleachers within the park. A beautiful stream that meanders through the park attracts fisherman. Tree-covered picnic areas are scattered along the creek. The Vermont Covered Bridge spans the creek and is open to pedestrian traffic. There are restroom facilities near the playground. There are several parking areas throughout the park and you can drive along the creek. Highland Park is a great place to bring the family.

There is parking right next to these attractions and easy access for those who need it. They were both behind glass so the glare made it hard to see both, but they were amusing. Right next to the display was a playground suitable for all ages. The slide is a bit high, and it seemed old, but in good condition. There are also covered picnic tables in the area. Down the ways a bit in the park is a red covered bridge that was fun to walk through and take some photos with. Lastly, there is a large pavilion stage area what was having an orchestra concert, free to attend, and the audience was partially shaded with some picnic tables in the back as well.

There was also a mixture of new play towers as well as an old school spiral slide and spinning wheel. The park was clean and had lots of mature trees for shade.
