There is a really nice playground with plenty of parking, shade, restrooms, and a series of swings that are fully accessible for kids with physical challenges. There is an amphitheater on the hill for entertainment. All in all, it is a really nice park for a town of about 6000 people. Review #2234

We've been to a ton and this ballpark holds its own, even compared to AA and AAA ballparks. The Parkview team does a tremendous job with the friendly entertainment, excellent service, great food and drink options, and an overall enjoyable MiLB venue... From Thirsty Thursdays to Friday and Saturday night games, Parkview Field offers something for everyone. If you're coming through FW, Parkview Field is a must stop.

I imagine when it gets hot out, you just cook like their delicious hot dogs in that sun! (The hot dogs were really good!) They also offer a kids zone that you have to pay for and it's nothing too great. Bunch of blow up things to jump on and slide down. Beer garden is no garden. It's just a building in the outfield dead center that serves beer and backs up to the hotels. Will say, dang good beer selection. Yuengling and some Michigan brews too! It's a very comfy little stadium downtown. So much going on it can be hard to follow the game though. And, their food lines are atrocious! Takes FOREVER to get anything of substance food- wise. Two innings or more for a hotdog. Overall it was enjoyable and I'd make it a point to take in a game if headed that way in the country.

A large paved walking path, soccer fields, tennis court... not one, but TWO cool (and safe) playgrounds for children 2-12, which have modified equipment for disabled children and gathering spaces for all ages to encourage inclusivity. The bathroom facilities are unfortunately closed (I think this may be for the season,) but there was a portable toilet in the parking lot for use. There is also a splash pad that must be hopping in the summertime! Looking forward to seeing it in action. I don't live close by but the trek is worth it as the possibilities are endless for young children and the young at heart at Kreager Park.

I went to some single A games in Virginia that were played on a high school field, so I was shocked when I arrived. It's a really nice facility, I was told IU Kokomo plays their games there. Not familiar with the ballpark, my experience started with buying tickets over the phone. I described the kind of seats I wanted, lady at ticket window provided exactly what I wanted; they were great seats!! The night I went was thirsty Thursday, so domestic beer was $2 for 12 Oz glass. Had a brat and eventually French fries. Parking was easy, may be a challenge if sold out. I had a blast!!!

Of course, we won't mind if you look around, they'll say. It's only eight dollars per person. Folks'll pass over the money without even thinking about it. For it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the Umbrella Bar and the Backyard, and sit in shirt-sleeves on a perfect afternoon. Or they'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game, and it'll be as if they'd dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come, Funk...The one constant through all the years, Funk, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. Tennis courts on the other side of the river. Many picnic tables, huge tree. Very tranquil and serene. County fair buildings also on the property and canoe businesses nearby. Winamac has a very special place here.

As someone new to the Westfield area, I thought this was pretty cool and kind of surprising. Although I'm not really into sports unless I'm feeling 22-but have visited the campus a couple times now for various reasons like the Shipshewana Flea Market, "Whale of a Sale" (a large, upscale children's consignment event) and most recently "Winter Fest" presented by Westfield Youth Sports and "Brought to you by Birdies," the mini golf place and bar/restaurant in Westfield. Winter Fest was a fun and free event for locals inside the campus to promote sports enrichment in the community. Westfield residents who signed up received tickets for $15 worth of food (per person) at the cafeteria. This was quite generous of them! Chik-fil-A was also there with a booth giving out merch and gift cards for meals. The cafeteria and adult bar area are well maintained, shiny and new. The indoor field is clean and beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. There were vendors offering to match donations for youth sports fundraisers and local businesses advertising their products. They had tons of inflatables--even one for adults too. It was a great experience and I look forward to attending other events at Grand Park. I found out after Winter Fest that there had also been a Health and Wellness expo that same day and wished I had known about it sooner with companies like Pure Barre being there. Next year, I'll be keeping an eye out for that event and others like it.

So, on Wednesday afternoons, a Farmer's Market sets up booths to take advantage of the space! The park also has a couple basketball courts, a large shelter with picnic tables, and a new sculpture at the entrance called "Rooster" to welcome the visitors coming for the Farmer's Market. The park also has a community flower garden that adds a bit of color to the park. Overall, it seemed to be maintained well and had plenty of room for further development. Review #1140

What a gem of a park that will serve the area for decades to come. The Lafayette Aviators (essentially a college summer league) play their games here. The majority of players (I would estimate) are division 1 or 2, trending toward 2. But the baseball is good, these are players who know how to play. It is functionally identical to Kokomo Municipal (which I have also been too). Again there simply is everything to love about this stadium if you are a baseball fan and a perfect way to spend an evening watching summer baseball. Parking is a bit tricky in the area if you have never been FYI. It felt (?) like parking was limited to lining the nearby residential streets, perhaps I missed something larger.

My husband is in a wheelchair, so he had a seat. I had nothing! They offered me a plastic folding chair but it hurts my back. I have plantar fasciatis so I can't stand on cement. The staff who had originally seated us in the wrong seats were rude when they moved us. They did offer seats in different sections. I spent over $100 there tonight but NEVER AGAIN!

The single lane,…read moreHowe truss bridge was built in 1877 and crosses the Mississinewa River near Matthews, Indiana. William Parks of Marion built the bridge. The 181 foot bridge is gorgeous and neighbors have been lovingly taking care of it for 150 years. The bridge has a remarkable past. In 1913, the bridge was removed from its foundation by flood waters that carried it downstream one half mile. A contractor was hired to move the bridge back to its foundation, but raise it several feet higher. The bridge received new siding and roof. Since the flood of 1913, the bridge has survived floods in 1958 and 1980. A lovely little park surrounds the bridge. Plaques documenting the history of the bridge and a nearby gristmill stand in the small park. A historical marker also stands near the bridge. A nice walkway with overlook offers amazing views of the bridge and river. This bridge is maintained and fully functional to traffic crossing. A small parking lot holds about 3 cars sits at the south end of the bridge. Each September, a festival is held to honor the bridge. I absolutely love the incredible story of this bridge. The bridge is an amazing piece of Indiana history and a story of resilience.

Northeast of Matthews, Indiana is a covered bridge and affiliated park that shares the story of…read morethis National Historic Place. The Cumberland Bridge (also known as New Cumberland or as the Matthews Bridge) is on 3rd Street in Matthews where it crosses the Mississinewa River. The bridge was built in 1877 by William Parks and spans 181 feet. During the great flood of 1913, the bridge was lifted by the water and carried down river about a half mile. It was saved and hauled back on rollers by horses. The Matthews Covered Bridge Historical Society has created a nice park for visitors to park and rest near the bridge on the south east corner. The park has observation points to see the bridge and flowing river. There are also information kiosks that tell the story of the bridge's history. The bridge looks to be in good shape and is still used for light traffic. Review #2546
