We were in constant communication with them through text and phone calls, and they assured us that they were on their way and they were ten minutes away. Then thirty minutes roll by, and we call them, they give us the same "we are 10 minutes away" excuse. After 10 minutes, we take my mom to the back patio and blindfold her and tell her we have a surprise. We call them and turns out they were all the way in Magnolia, mind you we were in Alief. They were 50+ miles away, and they told us they were never coming. They had actually passed us off to another group. Now, we had to break the news to my mom since she is going to wonder why she was blindfolded. Of course, she took it okay, but you could tell she was disappointed she didn't have the band playing.

They cover more ground than the heralded Saints offense during the games as they canvas the Dome pumping up the party. Bruce Hirstius is the band leader of this group of six. He is 80-something years young and loves to dance. He is so entertaining to watch as he dances for the crowd. I really think he would rather dance all game than play the trumpet. The band's most frequent song is "When the Saints Go Marching In". They perform that song dozens of times during the game. "Down by the Riverside" is also a popular request but they also play lots of dixieland tunes such as "Tin Roof Blues", "Bourbon Street Parade", and "Didn't He Ramble". Catch them at halftime in the mezzanine for a second-line parade! This band is quintessential New Orleans....a not well-known band that leaves you more entertained than you've ever been at a sporting event.

We were looking for a big band sound for our reception in the Blue Room of the Roosevelt Hotel and going for the classy feel of the cocktail era supper club when Sinatra had played in that same room. They did not disappoint. Their choice of songs was spot on, and we were really impressed with their range - everything from old school swing to crooners to new music like Beyonce. They really rocked it all. Our guests danced the night away and told us the next day how impressed they were with our choice of band. And for the number of musicians the price was very reasonable. Jimmy and his son Robert were also very accomodating, meeting us beforehand and asking for our preferences. They really listened to what we requested but obviously had lots of experience doing this before so I felt totally comfortable with their song choices to fit the mood of the crowd. Mike was extremely professional throughout the whole process, sending us some live songs before we made our decision and answering emails promptly throughout the months leading up to the wedding. As for the performance, all I can say is that we were just shocked all night as to how truly AMAZING this band is. So many of our guests came up to us at the wedding or shortly after and told us how much they enjoyed the music. I think everyone had a ridiculously good time and the band certainly played a large part in the success of the evening. As for the band, one of the reasons they are so great is the extremely wide range of songs that they not only play, but play extremely well. From Classic Rock, to 80s &90s, to Pop and DANCE/R&B / HIP HOP, Top 40, Ballads and even a little country; they nailed it all.
