The women here are kind, but that's about the only good thing I can say. I honestly don't know if they're inexperienced or just have never worked with a Black woman's curves before, but not one, not two, but three of my dresses were completely botched. I also had a top altered and it came back lopsided. After the first round of alterations, the owner tried to gaslight me, saying they had only adjusted the strap for my burgundy dress (which was never the main issue). I initially asked for the sides to be taken in because the bust area was too big, but somehow, that got lost in translation. So I paid AGAIN, for all to be fixed and what I got back was even worse. Everything felt rushed, uneven, and downright sloppy. I bawled my eyes out because these dresses were meant for my birthday trip. The white dress? It was the most horrendous one, imagine the outline of Sarah Baartman on a modern-day garment. That's how distorted the shape was. Even after a third attempt, the seams were still crooked and the dress was unwearable. I'm now left dressless for my trip and out of money. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

I recently brought her a beautiful brocade skirt I got a crazy good deal on but was way too small on me - brought her the matching top that was also too small on me and asked her to use that fabric to make the skirt fit. You can't even tell where she added the fabric - it looks flawless. Brought her some other delicate items like embroidered pants that I didn't even know whether cutting and hemming was possible - she did it no problem. Shortening the sleeves on a massive knit sweater - no problem. She does such a great job and is very sweet and has an excellent memory. Highly recommend!

Sandi's Sewing and Design is incredible. I called Sandi on Tuesday and asked her to alter my…read morebridesmaid dress that I needed for the following Wednesday. I did not know what needed to be done to it, just that it did not fit quite right and I needed it done fast. She accepted and I made an appointment for the following day. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and reasonably priced. She made suggestions on what she felt could be done to the dress and I agreed (bringing up the shoulders and hemming it an inch). She gave me the price and told me I could pay upon pick up (both cash and credit accepted). I left it there on Tuesday around 1:00pm and it was ready the next day. She was very fast and the dress looks beautiful. I purchased the dress from David's Bridal and had planned to have it altered there, but they insisted that the dress would need to be dropped off over two months before the wedding. I was taken aback by this because it seemed like quite a long time especially because I was losing weight at the time and wanted to make sure it fit right when the wedding came. I have also had dresses altered there in the past and it has been very expensive. I am so grateful that I found Sandi instead!! She is absolutely amazing with her work, super friendly, and very well priced. I highly recommend going to her and I plan to go to her again for any altering needs in the future! Outstanding!
