For the two years I've lived nearby, Hemenway has been maintained well by the local council, and is regularly enjoyed by local families. There is a basketball court, a children's playground, a nice expanse of dog-poop-free grass and a rock garden. I always see joggers using the park in the morning, and every weekend there are at least a couple of games of basketball being played. It's a friendly and low-key park, and everyone seems to use it quite fairly. A lovely addition to a friendly part of D-ster.

I believe its accessible from the T but I drive here when I come. There is a large Boston based Pokémon Go group that congregates here during large events and the playing options are amazing. The walking paths are paved throughout as well as a couple of well-worn dirt paths. There is a large fenced track for running, baseball diamonds, pickleball, tennis, and loads of other sports playing options. Lots of wide open space to play frisbee. The park is dog friendly as well.

He said "just Holla, Baloo." But enough of this Hullabaloo. This is a pretty nice park right by the water in Boston and I absolutely love it here. I slept right here by this park, and even though it's not always the safest neighborhood and there were a few strange incidents, I still felt fairly safe and nothing happened to me - and nothing even nearly happened to me - so I appreciated that. It's very pretty in the daytime, as I found out when I woke up, with the sparkling water as a backdrop. Boston is a very beautiful city with a lot more water than a lot of people ever see, so I feel kinda bad for those who just stick to the downtown or Cambridge or Allston and Chestnut Hill, because the North and South Shores are honestly the heart of Boston, and I'm ashamed that it took me 20 years to find that out.

There are plenty of benches for weary caregivers to rest while the kids run around and burn off that endless supply of energy. There are two play structures, both with slides and an array of climbing structures separated by a fence. One side for tots and one for older kids. There's a substantial set of swings (6 total - one for all ages). The playground is adjacent to a set of large baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts. There is no parking lot but I've never had trouble finding an on street space on beautiful LaGrange street. Its proximity to the plenty of shops and restaurants along Centre Street lend to making the visit to the playground a multi-purpose outing. I know how much effort it took to get the kids loaded up and out the door - so let's make the most of it! While it can get busy, it's never been so overwhelmingly crowded that my introverted personality couldn't handle it. I've always been very comfortable with the amount of kids and guardians. This is our favorite playground in the city so far, it has become our regular spot.

Finally made it !!! Near the end of our Stadium tour (over years) and Fenway is Top 3 (maybe #1)…read morebecause overall the Ballpark is just beautiful and screams Baseball history. The Fans were awesome, even when the benches cleared and the Nationals took the Series. The Venders were old-school and prices were reasonable. We did a Ballpark Tour which I highly recommend so that u get the whole experience. Definitely worth it and I was lucky enough to get some autographs while my team warmed up. Emily did an excellent job explaing the history of Fenway and the Redsox. The view from the Green Monsta is one you don't want to miss. Tour wraps up well before the game so u exit and I suggest the restaurant right on the corner for some amazing pizza and a cool hang-out. Make sure to walk around and capture the whole vibe and be prepared to sing "Sweet Caroline" !!!
