Dr. Andersoning is an associate of Dr. Rasor and I think she is absolutely incredible. She helped me lose 60 lb In less than a year, without starving myself or having to do any crazy insane diets, and also no more need for blood pressure medication. She will usually schedule for a 1/2 hr appointment and at the time of the appointment that's when she walks in and spends the entire 1/2 hr with you. She is funny, sincere, caring, and really only wants the best for you. This is the top 5 star Yelp review I can give to a person or any place. Dr. Rasor runs an incredible place. Get in if you can because it's usually a 2-3 month wait, but so well worth the wait if you care about yourself . read more

I'm not sure what the other reviews are about but my experience with Dr. Rasor is way different. I've been going to him for 2 years now. He's been a true blessing from God. I have several chronic health conditions. He has helped me so much. With each visit he sits down looks over his notes from our previous visits and will follow up on those first and than we'll talk about any new conditions that may have come up. He sits and listens to me no matter how long it takes. He didn't just throw pills down your throat he offers you suggestions and if you tell him you don't want pills and ask him for advice on how to best treat the condition without meds he'll give you recommendations and even books to read to self guide you. If I have a problem prior to my visit I've emailed him on the patient portal and he's always emailed me right back right away. Usually within 24hrs but it never takes that long. When test results come in he emails me with results and concerns and tells me what to do next. We have A great communication system that works best for us when I'm not at my appointments and I love it. I dit know what I'd do without him. I've never been misdiagnosed, I've never been forced to have vaccinations I choose not to have and he's never made me feel uncomfortable able not getting one. I'm even a smoker and while he does lecture me on quieting smoking, he doesn't go over board or make it uncomfortable for me to talk to him about it. When I have a health conditions he just can't treat he has no problems telling me that abs refers me to a specialist. He doesn't run unnecessary test. But if you ask him about if you think you need it he'll give you his input and the two of you discuss it together and I've never walked away thinking gee was he right about that. He's helped so much I wouldn't know what to do without him. He's changed my life on do many ways and I'm so grateful to him for that. His office staff up front might not be the best but I don't deal with them. I don't go there to see his staff, i go there to see him. Plus the other doctor there, Dr. Andersonning, she is great when he's not in and if i have to absolutely get in. I've never had issues booking an apt to get in to see him. He's always available for me. I see him once a month. He recently got new staff and they seem much better and friendly. read more

Dr. Rasor is our family Dr and has always given our family the best in care. He truly has his patients interests and health in mind. Everyone at his office go above and beyond to make patients feel comfortable they also are so informative in regards to helping with insurance issues. When you live in the Florida sun for almost 12 months a year it's important that sun cancer checkup is a major concern. Each year since we moved to Florida in August 2010 Gloria and I would return to Michigan and Doctor John Rasor with his artist touch and his instruments would carefully correct any skin problems and make me look much younger than my 80 years of ware. Like the time Gloria fell on the curb in front of Rolison's Hardware Brighton Michigan and split her eye brow in two Dr Rasor's surgery Gloria's eye brow today is like new. On May 1, I had a appointment with Dr Rasor at 10:45 AM after 1200 mile plus trip and two night stay on the way we arrived at Dr Rasor's office at 9:15 AM when I was told my appointment had been moved to 11AM. Gloria and I sat in the office and watched patients come and go. At 10:45 Gloria asked how much longer before we could see Dr Rasor we were told there are seven more people a head of you, The result after sitting in the office for over 90 minutes we knew it would be after 12pm before I saw Doctor Rasor and It and had another appointment at 12:30pm, In 1998 when we moved to Brighton Michigan we found Dr Rasor at Saint Joseph Hospital. Gloria and I also now met Dr Rasor's wife Michelle who would handle any non medical problems that the doctor had. Let me start by saying we were patients of Dr Rasor for over 15 years. We thought we were in good hands with his care for our health. My husband who very rarely goes to see the doctor found himself needing to go due to some concerns with his throat. Dr. Rasor was not available for a long time (has become the norm he was always too busy for appointments) so he was directed to his assistant Eva. This was last year. During the visit my husband made mention of some of the issues he was having including swollen glands around his throat and in passing mentioned he was aware he needed to get his wisdom teeth removed. The assistant decided that he should get blood work. He did the blood work and Eva called and said that it came back that he had Lime disease and she called in a script to the pharmacy and he should start taking it right away. Lime is very serious yet this was all the explanation that he received. He called back and requested an appointment with Dr Rasor directly because he was hesitant to start taking the meds without discussing it with him first. He was given the only time available. At the time my husband was working in Dearborn and expressed his concern about arriving on time with traffic. It didn't seem a big deal so he planned to get to the office the next day. Well he was 11 minutes late for the appointment so they decided to move the person after him into his appointment slot but refused to give my husband the person's appointment slot that they replaced him with. After going back and forth trying to get him in the office again they gave me another appointment time 3 weeks later. In that time we had a chance to do a second opinion. He did not have lime disease. We went to two other doctors that managed to fit him into their busy schedule but Dr. Rasor would not and found out that Dr. Rasor's office misdiagnosed him. The people in the office have been extremely rude during the whole ordeal. Well evidently I was blackballed because my husband had issues with the office because I called and requested an appointment to get a Hep A shot due to me being at the renaissance festival during an outbreak and the office wouldn't return my calls. I had to also get another doctor. Now fast forward to about a year later and I am receiving a bill from his office. I have health insurance but for whatever reason their office is claiming we went to see them about a dental issue so my health insurance is not paying the claim. I have called their billing department several times and they just keep coming back and saying they would call Rasor's office and then nothing. I have left several messages on the voicemail of Dr. Rasor's office the most recent one this wednesday and no one is calling me back to discuss this bill they obviously want to try to 'stick to us' for having issues with their office. The ladies in the office are very cold and rude. I have dealt with the billing person denae for years and have considered her one of the rudest people in the healthcare industry but I dealt with her thinking that I was getting at least good care with Dr. Rasor. I know better now if a doctor will stand for that behavior then he is the same. It is unfortunate that someone who my husband and I relied on for our medical care was not there when we needed him the most. Save yourself the trouble and keep looking for a doctor because this one is broken. read more

Dr. Rasor has a God complex and zero respect for patients with concerns that contradict his narrow minded so-called "professional" opinion. I am the mother of two adolescent sons. We recently moved to a new town and I chose to meet Dr. Rasor as a potential new family physician based on a review I read on another site. A patient described Dr. Rasor as a doctor that is respectful of the parent's decisions regarding immunizations. Going into the appointment believing this review, I was upfront with him about my own concerns regarding continuing to vaccinate my boys due to the growing accounts of toxicity and health dangers associated with vaccines. He responded to me with a sideways look, a flick of his hand in my direction, and directed his attention to my two boys, selling vaccinations to them while completely disregarding me. Being a tolerant person, I let this pass as I digested what he had just done and continued to allow him to exam my children. I thought I'd give him another chance and was ready to ask him for a list of the vaccines he recommended, as well as documentation of the benefits and detriments of injecting my children with these vaccines. He did, after all, go to medical school, and should be able to support what he called a "great passion" for prescribing vaccinations, and I am open-minded to any information on the subject. My faith in having this conversation with Dr. Rasor came to an abrupt halt when he told my boys "some parents choose to sign the vaccine waiver at school instead of vaccinating their children, which is the same as signing a piece of paper wishing them dead"! Then he had the audacity to glare at me as my children watched! This judgemental, power-tripping man who doesn't even know me told my children I wished them dead! Wow, and here I was taking them for physicals and questioning what he deemed best to inject into their bodies. The worst part about this whole visit was the unnecessary pain my children must have experienced being told by a doctor that their mother wishes them dead! I demanded an apology for his unprofessional actions, which of course I didn't get, and immediately left the appointment. If you're looking for a doctor to belittle you and judge you instead of listen to you with compassion and professionalism about your personal care, then this is the guy for you. If you choose not to risk your children hear a doctor tell them their parent wishes them dead when all you are doing is looking out for their best interests, I recommend you take them elsewhere.
