The food was great, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere took me back in time. Will happily become a repeat customer.

My friend and I had lunch here after visiting a quilt show at the air museum. The service was a bit slow but the food was well worth wait.

Absolutely love this place. OK the place might get a bit upper class country posh with preppy kids…read moreand their parents visiting in Cambridge. The place is located near the Madingley Hall, a beautiful country location of Cambridge University. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu is focused on Italian european but also has some British dishes. Loved the coffee. Drinks and spirits looked good but didn't go for it. The staff was polite and friendly. Called them up last minute to reserve a table to which they happily obliged.

The Three Horseshoes is probably my favourite restaurant in the entire world…read more Set in the refreshringly green hamlet (or village, not really sure on the distinctions) of Madingley, it is a charmingly floral spot for a Summer's lunch and a cosy retreat from the Winter's chill. The food is innovative, interesting and always beautifully presented: having spent a lot of time in Italy, I am often dissappointed with the Italian food in England, but The Three Horseshoes always hits the right note. The seasonally changing menu is always a delight, but I particularly like their use of autumn veg, particularly butternut squash. Whatever buffalo mozzarella they use deserves a special place in heaven, and my boyfriend always manages to find room for their delicately seasoned lemon tart. Well worth a visit - if you're a student, this is definitely one to persuade your parents to take you to.
