I spent about $3500 and I have now had the furniture for about three months and I still couldn't be happier with my purchase and the delivery and service I received. The owner and another man delivered everything within a few days. The lady I worked with was amazing. I love this place! The furniture is all different levels of quality, but the lowest quality is not cheap crap, either. I think their selection is extremely unique and fantastic. When I get in the market for another freezer, I will most certainly buy it there. First of all, not only do they have a great selection of products, I am sure you can order just about anything they don't have there at the moment, AND their prices are very competitive. I will give them more of my $ in the years to come as I need more pieces and appliances eventually. Wonderful place!

There are about 5 restaurant bars and about 5 hotels and a scattering of bed and breakfasts. I think people visit for fly fishing. This is manly a bookstore, also selling model trains, wagon wheels and vintage vinyl disks. Didn't try the coffee, but they have those slushy sugary ice drinks, cappuccino and mango-orange; on my visit, the perfect summer cooler. And free WiFi. Enough said.

The building has two main rooms; the South shop, which is where the items are that are for sale, and the much larger North room, which holds the owner's personal collection. Unfortunately, most of the items in the North room are not for sale, but it is well worth the time to check it out, as walking through this room is like walking into an early America museum. In addition to selling antiques and collectibles, the Ox Bow specializes in fabricating and repairing horse-drawn carraiges Inside this one room, there were dozens, if not over 100, amazing carriages, as well as a huge collection of accessories to go along with them, most of them in immaculate condition. As I said above, the items in this room aren't for sale, however, when I asked the owner about a few of them his response was that they weren't for sale "yet." There's still hope! There were some cool items in the shop as well, however, I found most of them to be of the reproduction/decorative tin variety, with just a few actual antique items sprinkled throughout. The pricing seemed fair, as far as these items go, and I still enjoyed walking through the inventory. I didn't buy anything, "yet," however, it was well worth going in for the free "museum."

While in the store, the owner did not hold back on her opinion about those who came here from out of state. They are destroying Oregon, she said. According to her, they destroyed Bend, Oregon and now they are destroying John Day. With strangers browsing the store, she didn't care. This woman was holding a conversation with two other like-minded sheeples, nodding their heads in support of the garbage coming from this narrow-minded woman behind the counter. If I found something I thought I would buy, I would take a pass. She is not going to make any money from me. I hope the townspeople support each other's business enough to keep her afloat.
