I came all the way from Philadelphia for Dr. John J Corey after being recommended By one of his previous breast augmentation patients. Her work was phenomenal and I wanted the same type of results and him and his team delivered exactly that. The consultation was done over the phone where Dr. Corey talked about my preferences and he discussed what he think might be best for me based on the information I gave him. I was very open minded with what I wanted and I made sure to mention the most important things to me; upper pole fullness and closing my cleavage was my top priority and I was flexible in the sizing in order for those two priorities to be fulfilled. He recognized off the bat from the photos I sent that I had some unevenness between the girlies and made sure to even them out during the final sizing. He was on point with the final sizing and profile. Throughout the call he was extremely EASY to talk to; literally felt like speaking to a friend. Never once did I feel like the choice wasn't my own nor did I ever feel like he was trying to steer me away from my choices. Many of my friends had experiences where other doctors were trying to convince them a different profile or a bigger/smaller size (a big reason why i didn't go to other well known doctors in philadelphia and went all the way here instead). Surgery is a very high commitment and it can be uncomfortable when your doctor doesn't really respect what you want, but this WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL WITH HIM! He was super informative, very respectful, and even funny lol. Despite coming from such a long way, the process was very smooth and they communicated with me how to estimate which sizes I would like best through a process called the "rice test". Even though I was weary at first, i can say the rice test is pretty accurate now that I am post op! It helped me picked the perfect size that wasn't too big for me but still noticeable. He is amazing and well versed at his job because he was able to suggest a couple sizes for me that I probably never would have picked myself, but it ended up being exactly what I wanted after i tried those sizes during the rice test. He considered my rib cage width, my goals and was realistic. I was weary about sizing and profile types bc I didn't want to look like the letter "P" and he did amazing at suggesting the size and profile. We quickly agreed on medium and 405cc L/445cc R to balance out my unevenness. His team was very communicative and even accommodated my request for an earlier surgery date when unexpected circumstances came up and I could no longer do my original surgery date. This team made me feel so comfortable and reassured me very thoroughly, even after I expressed that I was quite nervous as I have never had a procedure done before. I was literally a mess the night before because i was so nervous but looking back it feels soooo silly bc they took care of me so flawlessly. I literally came into the surgery center scared as heck but woke up painlessly with beautiful boobies LOL. The nurses, the anesthesiologist, the doctor, everyone was so friendly and made me feel more at ease before we got started. Even the recovery process wasn't too bad, Dr. Corey outlined what to expect for the next week and he was spot on. I followed his instructions and so far have no complications a week later (but I am a post op nurse, so I may be a little more familiar with post op care than others). Make sure to follow post op care instructions his team provides in order to prevent complications and unwanted results! Once again, Dr. John J Corey is extremely comfortable to speak to and I had an AMAZING experience. I got a bilateral Transaxillary breast augmentation and i love it to much! The armpit approach gave me no visible scars and anyone I've shown so far has been super impressed! My friends have gotten it under the breast and sometimes the scarring can be dark for women of color (I am asian) so I really appreciate that he recommended this approach to me. Paid $10k to be extremely unhappy with the result. They look way too natural and not the good kind of natural. They don't look perky and it's honestly embarrassing to say I've gotten them done. I had naturally small breasts and putting an implant into the pocket should have made them tight, but idk if the pocket was made bigger because there is just so much room in there i can hardly find the implant. I want to cry every time I look at them. Can't afford to have them redone but will definitely not be going back to Dr Corey when I do. Honestly worried I'll need to have a whole lift done because i want them to be sitting more high up. Ugh :( read more

I went in for a consultation with Dr. Corey for a lift and a breast augmentation. I have been to quite a few consultations in the past for a few of my friends, so I thought I knew what to expect going into it. I felt uncomfortable upfront when one of his assistants came into the room and started taking pictures of me (would have felt more comfortable with the Dr doing this since this is what I saw happened in other offices). His assistant and I went over some questions that I had and some information she needed ie breast size, ideal look, etc. I had done a lot of research over the course of 15 years of wanting to get this procedure done. This goes for scarring, breast implant sickness, and encapsulation. From the TED talks, YouTube videos, and online documents I researched I saw that the consensus was to make sure that your doctor doesn't push off BIS and at least acknowledges it. I knew going into it that there are risks, but wanted to go forward anyway and asked about BIS in particular since this is a big life decision to get breast implants. The assistant assured me that silicone nowadays is up to date and there are less complications which made me feel more comfortable. When Dr. Corey entered the room my boyfriend and I both noticed that his body language was very uppity. After talking about what I would need done (indeed a breast lift and augmentation) and taking some measurements he asked a question that was very off putting. "Do you hate your breasts?" Very off putting question. I answered saying something along the lines of that they're a part of me and I don't want to hate my body, but that I want them to be enhanced. This is where the whole consultation went downhill and became humiliating. Dr. Corey started losing his composure and started talking me out of the surgery saying that a lift was "too big of a commitment and I'm a little nervous with you, scarring, implants, and a lot going on. I like when patients come in here and tell me that they 'hate their breasts.'" So I reiterated and asked him if he was nervous to do my surgery because of the shape and symmetry and explained that I was still willing to go through with the surgery. He then said "Right, right. I'm not sure if this is the right operation for you" Now my boyfriend and I are incredibly frustrated trying to understand why Dr. Corey didn't want to go through with it. He would have moments where he would say I'm "emotionally not where I want you to be." He even has the audacity to bring up that I asked a lot about BIS implying that I'm too much of a liability and just didn't want to work on me. My guess is he just wants women desperate and hating themselves to give the buying signs to close a sale. Needless to say, we never got a real answer as to why Dr. Corey didn't want to operate on me since he kept beating around the bush. It almost felt as if he wasn't confident enough to work on me. The whole experience felt humiliating and embarrassing. He did the bare minimum which was give back my $250 for the consultation. To add insult to injury, when we were leaving, he was trying to have us leave out the back way to have us avoid his next consultation. For being an older man with many years of experience, I wish that he could have flat out said why he felt so uncomfortable. Coming out crying from embarrassment out of this consultation after having a "professional" doctor see you naked and making you feel even more insecure is traumatizing. I understand that he doesn't need to perform on people that "make him nervous", but I feel that there could have been a better way of handling this situation. I hope that no one has to go through what I did. Unfortunately Dr. Corey lacks bedside manner or even empathy when dealing with certain patients. read more

They know that after your consult you may not go back. Especially after having to deal with his two staff. These older ladies are extremely rude! I sat in the small school chair that his old lady front desk staff said, Set there she said and do your paperwork like a student. Lol! Who says that to their clients? In the dark in the small chair. I wouldn't recommend Dr Corey. He rushed through every appointment I had with him. My breast augmentation turned out very asymmetrical. One pocket too large the implant sat low and moved around a lot. He thought it was fine: The other side was too tight and sat too high. He did a revision on me without any fees, but I still paid several thousand more for anesthesia, facility fees, etc. He dropped the one that sat too high, but I think now it is a bit lower than the other. So I still am not satisfied with the outcome of two surgeries. read more

Dr.Corey convinced me to add implants to my breast reduction. He promised that I would be so happy with the results and raved about his work. I was so excited and happy to have my surgery before my wedding so that I would look beautiful in my wedding dress. Unfortunately that's not the way it went. I developed an infection that was causing my heart rate to be dangerously high. I called a tele health doctor who advised to me to go into the emergency room because she believed I was going to become septic. When I notified Dr. Corey, he advised for me not to go to the ER and said that I would be fine until the morning. I felt that he lacked urgency and advised that I was going to the ER. Dr Corey then asked me to meet him in his office. I met Dr Corey in his office at 11pm where he opened my stitches, packed my wound and sent me home with an open wound. I had to go into another surgery and lost breast tissue leaving me uneven and deformed. Dr Corey told me to purchase fake breast that "look like a chicken cutlet that cancer patients use" to try to fill my wedding dress. Needless to say I was unhappy, going through physical, mental and emotional trama due to all of this. Dr Corey and his staff advised that they would get me in touch with another doctor that could help me and that he would preform another surgery in few months after the swelling went down to get my breast even. I'm in North Scottsdale and was looking for a reputable surgeon to administer my 2nd breast augmentation. It had been 11 years since my original surgery I had done in Oregon. I had some scar tissue built up, wanted better symmetry and bigger implants second time around. I had called several places around the valley and can honestly say I immediately felt comfortable while speaking with Tiffany at Dr. Corey's office. Many other places quoted insane pricing up to $20k. I wanted a board certified professional who was good with breast reconstruction as I also had a capsulotomy done as well as chin lipo. The other women who answered were short or seemed rude like I was just another number or waited weeks before they got back to me with a quote. Tiffany was super calm, friendly and collected. She answered all of my questions and made me feel wanted and appreciated and was excited I called and chose them. I immediately set up a consultation which was about two months out at that time. Some other surgeons were 3-6 months out for consultations so I felt this was reasonable and also shows he's popular by demand. I would be weary of anyone who could get you in right away but that's just my personal opinion. At my consultation, I was greeted by Tiffany at the front desk and met with Dr. Cory to discuss concerns, size and what I envisioned for myself and what was possible to be done. 11 years ago I was 5'3, 110 lbs with a 32A. I wanted to be as big as he could go the first time but he was conservative to avoid any rippling or scar tissue so we went with Allergen moderate silicone profile 304cc left side and 286cc right side placed under the muscle which came out to a 34C cup. Having had time to stretch the skin and have more elasticity, I told Dr. Corey let's finally go as big as he felt I could safely go with my measurements. I'm pretty active and in the gym 5-6 days a week so I also wanted a functional "fake" look. I wanted to make sure I had more upper pole fullness and cleavage this time around. He had first gave me a range of around 530-605cc I believe. After reviewing several blogs on realself.com from women, the norm seems to be "GO BIGGER!" Many women on there had stated they wished they had gone bigger after their final outcome and that's how I felt the first time around as well. At my pre-op appointment I met with Tara their financial/patient coordinator, Chelsea the nurse to discuss formalities and finally Dr. Corey to go over final questions and plan of action. After much thought, I had thrown around doing 700cc which he stated would be too big for my frame and he didn't feel comfortable going that big. I trusted his judgement and he measured my breast width diameter again and concluded we could do 650cc. 50cc's is about the size of a shot glass so to give some perspective on how minimal the difference really is. The only difficulties I encountered in this process was trying to schedule and coordinate my covid test which is now required within 3 business days of your surgery date. The surgery center had changed the guidelines last minute leaving me and Tara in a scrounging frantic trying to make sure I could get in and get the results back in time accordingly without losing my surgery deposit. Everything ended up working out. Tara went out of her way to contact the head of the covid testing center and surgery center to work with me on getting the 24 hour test vs rapid test which I would've had to pay $299 instead of Dr. Corey's office being able to cover and waive the fee. Any questions or concerns I had leading up to my surgery date, Tiffany and Tara were amazing with getting back to me right away through email or phone. I had my surgery done at Mccormick ranch surgery center which is a small intimate setting.Dr. Fleck was my anesthesiologist with an awesome friendly bedside manner and helped calm me down. I ended up with 650cc left, 560 right putting me at 34DDD/full DD. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Corey & staff(top 10 surgeons in AZ & triple board certified). I went in for a consult with Dr Corey in January of this year, his team along with his staff was impressive and so professional. Dr Corey is attentive to your want and needs in your consult and makes you feel so comfortable when your out of your element. **Update: as of 2 years after my surgery I am still suffering from some serious nerve damage. I was told this was very normal and took healing time after my surgery and that made sense so I didn't think much about it, but after two years have now been told told that it probably won't reverse. I still have NO feeling at all in my upper left arm, part of my chest and my side, except for occasional nerve pain, which is incredibly uncomfortable. Dr. Corey said there is nothing he can do. Fortunately I have found another doctor able to help, and have made progress on stopping the stabbing nerve pains I was getting in my arm with some therapy but possibly, eventually will need another surgery that's not covered by insurance, of course, if this doesn't maintain. But it will be worth it to have any kind of positive feeling back in so much of my body again. I understand there are risks to any procedure and take responsibility for that. However, my main point in updating the review is that I have been told by several doctors since that the method I chose for my procedure was much higher risk, something I would have very much liked to know beforehand since saftey was a high priority, a small extra scar would not have been worth the risks, had I known they were higher. I also am having a minor correction to the surgery as, after everything healed it was not very symmetrical, so a little lift on one side is needed regardless. My new doctor said that was fixable with the initial surgery, but Dr. Corey had said it wasn't, so who knows. Also, I felt like when I went for my follow ups at Dr. Coreys in the months after the surgery, they were focused on getting updated pictures of me for them, not on what had gone wrong with me, so I stopped doing them after the first couple awkward visits and just went back to my normal doctor where she was more concerned with the large area of dead nerves. Dr. Coreys office would just ask for more pictures and tell me to give it two years, so I stopped going until the 2 year point, when they just told me there was nothing they could do. All around I still don't regret the surgery, oddly enough it was still worth it, but definitely should have done more research and not solely relied on one doctors advice, the motivation there was definitely not for my benefit. Probably the main moral of my story.. Initial review from after surgery: For my recent procedure with Dr. Corey, I had a wonderful experience overall with Dr. Corey and his staff. Everyone we always friendly, ready to answer all my questions, and readily available when needed. My concerns we're always fully addressed and I was very prepared for the procedure and the care afterward. While a little more expensive than the other options I explored, I feel the attention from Dr. Corey and staff was more genuine and involved, rather than like I was paying for every minute of the doctors time. I have no complaints at this time and would definitely recommend Dr. Corey to family and friends. read more

There are to many qualified plastic surgeons in Scottsdale, AZ to put yourself at risk for multiple complications and the never ending amount of surgeries this guy sets up so you'll be back within 2-3 years with another complication. And you'll be sitting in his office and never expect to hear "oh it happened again" you'll need ANOTHER surgery to fix it, that will be another $8000. Dr Corey is truly an artist! My results are amazing and far superior to friends that have been to other doctors for the same procedures. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering plastic surgery. I've been meaning to update my review but haven't quite figured out how much I wanted to share. I had some complications after my TT which put me in the hospital for a week. Basically, birth control, abdominal surgery and genetic blood issues, equal clots. Anyway, I didn't mention it before because it has absolutely nothing to to with Dr Corey or the procedure he performed. There was absolutely no reason for him to be involved, nor was he being paid for any visits or consultations with other doctors. I never expected him to be involved but yet he was there, everyday, to make sure I was being taken care of. There are not words to describe how incredibly happy I am with my results. There are other doctors who are cheaper and will give you stupid bolt-ons you will regret later. Dr Corey will give you the best results possible. He actually cares about his patients and their long term happiness. Trust me, call him, he's the best ;) BTW I'm on the right in the pic LOL you should see me in a bikini! Awesome! read more

Dr. Corey is a nice guy. Unfortunately, his poor workmanship on my breast implant/lift has caused a bad result. He tried to 'fix' the problem in his procedure room, which is located in the laundry room. The fix didn't work. Now I am facing the task of finding another surgeon to fix the mess he made. He also put two different sizes of implant in, so my breasts are asymmetrical. I can't recommend him. read more

I was really able to trust Dr.Corey. He understood what I was looking for and he knew how to make it happen. He never ran over me or made me feel bad for being overly nervous. I had a great experience with Dr.Cory and his staff. I was terribly nervous about getting an augmentation. When I met with Dr.Corey, he instantly put me at ease just by being so personable and professional. He communicated all possibilites, risks and factors. He was very knowledgeable, he was straightforward and he didnt try to surgar coat anything. He made sure I knew exactly what I was getting into. Every step of the way he explained what would happen. He answered all of my questions, listened to all my concerns and we made a plan of action! We decided on an augmentation and partial lift. He is incredibly talented! I am in love with the outcome of the procedure. They look exactly how I wanted, feel exactly how I wanted. I have TaTa's that say tadaaaa!!! His staff is lovley! They all work together, you can tell its a team at the office. Its a great feeling just walking in, they all really care about you and what your doing. They are also very knowledgeable and give you all information and things you need. They recomend relevant products that they have tried and that work. I get worried and I get ahead of myself, everyone there helped me to take everything one step at a time, they helped the entire process be a success! I really liked how they remeber my name, they make me feel comfortable and welcomed. The office is also very clean and well put together. Its a great atmosphere. I have only good things to say about Dr Corey's office, and this is a belated but most deserving endorsement of Jennifer Prince RN who has been dispensing Botox, Juvederm, and good old-fashioned wisdom to me for over a year. I immediately liked Jennifer. She is first and foremost a nurse, one who exudes kindness, compassion, heart and humor. If I'm honest, I was apprehensive at first, nervous about needles in the proximity of my face, but at 50 and following an intensely difficult period in my personal life, I felt - and looked - worn out and weary. I remember clearly the first day I went to see Jennifer. First, she is drop-dead gorgeous, and I remember wondering what she must think of me in my bedraggled state! She gently handed me a mirror and asked me to just tell her what I didn't like about my face. Without interrupting, she listened. Without judging, she listened while I listed all my flaws and imperfections. Then, as she offered suggestions about things she could do that would erase a line here and there, she also complimented my good features. A class act, she genuinely wants those in her care to feel good about themselves. Jenn doesn't force a procedure. Sometimes, she'll just share make-up tips that require only a trip to Sephora! What is guaranteed is that she will listen and that you will never feel rushed. She is perhaps the most meticulous health-care provider I have ever encountered. When you are with her, it's clear that it's your time, and you will leave her feeling 100% better about yourself. She will follow up with a phone call to make sure you are clear about what to do following procedures. Oh, and she is gentle!! I have never had even a tiny bruise :-) It's not just Jennifer's professionalism that appeals to me, it's that she is interested in my world and what's going on in it. She understands what it's like to balance motherhood and work and to like what you see when you look in the mirror every day. A visit to Jennifer is one of my favorite experiences.
