I connected well with John and I've been seeing him for the past few months. He's been a great help to me and he's very kind and a good man.

The low ratings of Bay Area Psychiatric Group are accurate. Here is my contribution:…read more I saw Dr. Khalique for multiple sessions and it was an extremely frustrating experience, especially given the roughly $500 per visit cost. Each appointment felt like a stall tactic. He would end sessions by saying he had more thoughts to share later, pushing everything into another appointment weeks away. When I came back, instead of building on anything, it felt like we were starting over. I was hoping for actual insight and direction, but kept getting vague, non-answers instead. I had already completed a full professional evaluation elsewhere, yet when I asked straightforward questions, he refused to give any meaningful opinion and hid behind needing to "assess more". It came across less like careful professionalism and more like an unwillingness to say anything useful. He repeatedly redirected the conversation away from what I wanted to discuss and tried to frame everything as my anxiety (isn't that an easy way out, I'm sure he uses this tactic often), even when I made it clear that wasn't why I was there. It felt extremely dismissive and unhelpful. At one point he also made what I considered unreasonable and insensitive comments about basic parenting decisions that weren't even the reason for the visit. That was clearly a red flag, and I regret not stopping the session at that moment. The final session ended with me walking out because it was clear he wasn't going to help me. I have NEVER done this before. As I was leaving, he tried to hand me a list of psychiatrists who take my insurance. I told him insurance wasn't the issue and that I just needed someone who could actually help. Shows how money focused he is. Looking back, I'm relieved I stopped when I did. Each visit was expensive, unhelpful, unproductive and ultimately a waste of time and money. I genuinely feel like I dodged a bullet by moving on. There are better options out there. If you want someone extremely useless, insensitive, indirect and slow to offer any real feedback, this may be fine. If you want practical guidance, clear opinions, or to feel heard, I would strongly consider looking elsewhere. Strong strong strong pass.

We may not love our doctor enough to continue dealing with the terrible office staff and their…read moreabsolute lack of ability to do basically any part of their jobs. They do not return phone calls. When you call, there is a long-winded voice message and no option to actually talk to a person--you're just supposed to leave a message (that won't be returned). If you do happen to get someone in the phone, they are rude and unhelpful anyway. They do not communicate well and won't let you know if/when the doctor is running late or any other updates. Just absolutely awful all around.

I saw Dr. Jeanine for a number of months after experiencing both anxiety and depression issues…read morerelated to work and the deaths of multiple family members. I'm always afraid when seeing someone new, as it can be somewhat daunting sharing your life with a stranger, but I felt comfortable with Dr. J right away. She is so calm and caring, and I truly felt like more than just a patient to her. She was able to address what I was going through and explain it to me in a way that was enlightening and not overwhelming. I also truly appreciate Dr. J because I had been seeing a different therapist on and off for 8+ years and Dr. J was able to give me a diagnosis I had been looking for (and didn't know I needed!) after all this time, which helped answer a lot of questions about myself, and gave me better insight into the treatment I needed. Additionally, I love where her office is located and the way she has decorated the inside is so serene and comfortable. If you're considering Dr. J for yourself, I can't recommend her enough!!

She made me feel so comfortable from our very first meeting, and she has been kind and supportive while also offering guidance as needed. I'm thrilled to have found someone who has such a broad range of expertise, from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to nutrition. Most importantly, she doesn't feel the need to "fix" or pathologize when all that is needed is support and reassurance -- and conversely, she's not afraid to give a little push when one is needed. I appreciate Jeanine and highly recommend her to other prospective clients!

Getting a psychologist is just about impossible. First off all, how do you know who to choose?…read moreUnlike most medical professions, in my opinion, there are VASTLY different styles of psychology and it is urgent that you get one that suits you. After researching on the internet as much as possible, I made of list of possibilities. I then discovered that the vast majority of psychologists are full and not accepting patients. Those that do have openings have them mid-day, which won't work for somebody that works during the day when a regular schedule of appointments is required. One of the psychologists I contacted had no openings but another psychologist had recently moved into the building and needed patients, so I was able to set up a schedule with her (my first psychologist); She was very into things like breathing and posture. She also had a very large collection of small figurines that she said we would be using in the future to act things out. Honestly, this is all a little too 'new age' for my liking, but I tried her for a while, having no better option. Eventually, she made a response to something I had described as a major issue early in my life and how I had been forced to deal with it and, after leaving, the more I though about it, the more off-base I considered that remark, so I ended up leaving her a message that I would not be returning. Back to the hunt and I was forced to begin casting my net wider from where I live. I came across Dr Ingrid Sandberg in Dublin and she had evening availability! To make a long story shorter, I have been seeing her for a number of years now and she is awesome. She is very cognitive distortion oriented, which is what I think I most needed. She is very flexible in her ability to schedule me, what started out as evenings every two weeks and and since become evenings every 3-4 weeks. I have never understood why she is not busier than she seems to be. I highly recommend her, but if you are reading this, just don't make it more difficult for me to see her!
