U would absolutely not recommend Kurt Meyers or John L Scott if you plan on buying a house. They don't know what they are doing and dont really help in anyway. First , I will not disclose who the John L. Scott realtor agent was, but will say what they did. If disclosed to the Oregon State Real Estate Regulatory Agency the agent would likely lose their license, and the company would have been significantly fined. The event happened a year ago however I mention it now after I have bought a home in Ashland (from another agency) and have calmed down enough to describe the incident. Anyway, I found a nice home and contacted online the listing agent (from Scott) for a disclosure statement. This was via an online website which I won't name. Never heard from the listing agent, and therefore got my own agent and told them I'd like the disclosure statement. Then, the Scott agent calls me back and wants to work with me. I called my agent and told them I just heard from Scott and they wanted me, but I am sticking with you now, and requested she contact the Scott agent and request the disclosure statement. Fast forward days and the Scott agent saying they were "trying to get it"...but never responded until AFTER the house was in contract. Here is the reason the Scott agent never got back to my agent...because Scott got BOTH sides of the deal because the house was shown via an online website. I later found out they represented the seller and buyer! Why split a commission when you don't have to...utter BS. Bottom, go elsewhere to a firm that has reputable agents (assuming there are in the real estate industry. I had a great and honest agent. read more

I have had a terrible experience with Mandy Martin, a real estate agent who came into my home and yelled at me in front of a buyer and insisted I get my sick kids up to show the house. As a brand new renter, I have been forced into showing the house that I was told was not going to be for sale. Mandy put a lockbox on my door without any notice, she called me a difficult tenant and berated me for wanting to protect my children. What a horrible person and company that treats tenants with blatant and disgusting disrespect. It's absolutely appalling. read more

Today is the first day after I sold my mobile. I think the extent of damage has just started to sink in. I was upfront since the beginning that I was on leave from work due to a health condition and that my cognitive abilities are very impaired, which means my mind gets mixed up a lot and easily. Signing on my mobile yesterday was the reality in black and white of what just happened. I enlisted help in selling my mobile due to an existing mold condition and I did not want to liable, or to have what happened to me happen to the next buyer. Instead of an average 3% commission, my agent(s) took a healthy 24% letting me know another agent in their group could list my place for 2% but that they could do better in getting my place sold. She/they made me feel that giving me a 'reduced' rate was in my favor. If my cognitive abilities had been clear, or if this would have been explained to me in a very clear manner, I would have made a much different decision in selling. The things that went right: personable agent, watered my yard a couple of times when I was unable, sent me a Dutch Bro gift card. The things that went wrong: HIGH commission for a 'The best priced home in Bend', pressure to settle for much less than I could live on because if I didn't sell- it wouldn't sell (the very day I signed I had someone walk on my porch to inquire if the 'asking price' included the appliances- asking price being $2000 more than I settled for- 'settled for' included the appliances), calling me the day I was to move out to ask if I had managed to move out over the previous weekend (signed documents and Title company confirmed I had until Tuesday by 5:00 pm and the call came to me Tuesday at 1:30 pm- because 'the buyer' was anxious to take possession). My take away: I was pressured to sign off and sell taking a HUGE financial loss. I was pressured to leave the premises when I was told in the beginning my realtor works for both me and the buyer- proven not so. I was pressured to sign on a short sell, signed Friday and moved by Tuesday, when I have no place even lined up to stay other than on someone's couch (even the Title company said they have never seen such a fast sale put through their office). Last Friday I was elated that we were able to sell my mobile- today I feel as if I was charmed, deceived, taken advantage of, and booted out of the only home I had- even though that home was making my health condition worse. Today, I am thankful I can take whatever the next step is for me. I just hope the next person who reads this does not shell out $2400 on a $10,000 sale and wake up wondering WTH just happened?! This entire experience does not leave me feeling very 'represented' by Barbara Jackson, the person who claimed to represent me to her fullest ability. Would give zero stars if possible. First time, I inquired directly on their website about a property listing, no response via email or anything. Second time, I saw a property listed and contacted the agent, got multiple calls but none answering my request to view the property, then started receiving a million scam calls, the person who claimed to work for J. Scott I spoke to was inarticulate, didn't even get the address correct of the property and wouldn't answer any questions, truly bizarre. Sadly, I think it was a scam listing just to get peoples phone numbers. read more

We worked with Karen and Terry Toner of "team Toner". They were absolutely awesome! I've seen a couple of reviews prior to mine that were lambasting specific realtors. I would encourage people to keep on mind that JL Scott has the largest group of realtors in Southern Oregon at around 150 or so. All I can say is that with so many people and with so much of the market sown up, a couple of transactions gone bad isn't a call that odd. I was a Store Manager for a big box home improvement retailer for many years and can tell you that it's always the unhappy that are the loudest... That said, JL Scott is the biggest for a reason. As was evident in our transaction in April of last year, JL Scott obviously prides themselves in customer service. read more

I was told the road in front of the property I was purchasing was county maintained, after purchase and talking with my new neighbors, learned its maintained by property owners not county. In fact, county won't touch it. Also found out my house is on a military mortar range grave yard, contacted agent and he said most likely previous owner didn't know. Then I found out multiple mortars and grenades were found when neighbors houses were built. Asked agent to find a lawyer, got the run around. Both selling and buying agent were from same office. John L. Scott, buying agent, my agent, said house was listed lower than should have been before my purchase. This office is about profits over being a diligent agent. I wouldn't have bought this house again and won't deal with this office again. Feel like both my legal rights and misinformation was geared towards the sale and not what is best for the client. read more

Our agent was Alex Aaronson, who I highly recommend. He is prompt, professional, and really great at listening to what you're looking for. He showed us many homes and was always optimistic, while still giving us honest advice and opinions. Navigating buying a home is extremely difficult, but he made it as easy as possible. Sales people typically make me feel overwhelmed and nervous, but he is very patient and realistic. 5 stars, easy - love our new house :) read more

In 2002, I bought a house with John L. Scott. It was not bad, but I expected more negotating. Then I sold a house with 3 different realtors of John. L. Scott. This was a terrible expierence. The first was probably the best of the tree. She would not promote the house. The second realtor was off the chart terrible. She belongs in jail. My house was not occupied and she held parties there. She would not have a register for people when they came in during a open house. The third was a nice person, but it cost me over $30,000 closing costs to sell! read more

This review is my personal opinion and is a factual recap of events as I understand them. I could not have been more disappointed in Dan Mollahan as a professional realtor. He represented the seller of a house that I was going to purchase. I decided to not purchase well within my contractual time frame (due diligence / inspection period) for several reasons - some related to issues I discovered about the location of the house and others related to the sale of my home in another state. Dan and his managing broker were unwilling or unable to explain to the seller that they had no right to refuse to return my earnest money deposit. There was no willingness to mediate the dispute by Dan's broker which as I understand it is required by Oregon real estate code of conduct. The seller and Dan claimed I was past my right to cancel the contract (I cancelled 11 days after coming to an agreement on price and after paying for a home inspection). Once the seller found another buyer, my earnest money was magically released. I could not tell you why the seller and Dan claimed I had no right to the money and then released all of it back to me when the next buyer came along. I personally would never trust Dan or his managing broker. read more
