The Moravian House, not affiliated with the church is a completely immersive experience of 2 rooms filled with folk art, antiques, collectibles, colonial reproductions and decor. I love visiting just after Christmas when all the Christmas related items are 50% off. However the past two years I have been in there before Christmas and could not resist adding to my ornament collection. I have purchased a number of items here over the years, including music CDs, potpourri and seasonal and decorative items. I could literally buy everything in the store if I had the financial resources. The prices are moderate but not inexpensive. The antiques and reproduction furniture and art work is high quality and the price point reflects that. I've attached a number of photos because it is very difficult to describe the eclectic offerings. The shop is closed Sundays and Tuesdays. If you enjoy 18th and 19th c themed items in a lovely setting, be sure to stop and peruse everything there is to see here. If it was, I would NEVER thrift again! This place is a claustrophobic nightmare! First, you walk up a flight of stairs. According to previous posts, it's supposed to be different booths but I feel there is no way to discern that. I felt if I bent down I would break something or push something over and have a domino effect. It was just junk; rusted tools & stuff most people put in the trash. Could you find a gem? Maybe, but my people with me today seriously doubt it. I'm sorry to the owners. They have so much space & with little organization it maybe could be a great place to shop? Not sure. Most of what I saw was old, rusted, or dusty/dirty though.
