It took me 3 years to work up the courage to seek an attorney and I admit I dont have his exact address although I do know where he works and I know the county he lives in and she said she could not help me unless I figured out his address myself. I figured she could find him for that amount of money but I guess since she couldn't even find me, when I was the only one in her office, I dont know why i expected her to find my husband to serve him papers. I'm just disappointed at how I was treated. I wasn't expecting a social worker or therapist but I just wanted someone to care.

She presents as kind and empathetic but didn't execute even the smallest of things agreed upon and left me holding possibly the worst parenting plan on the planet as well as 20 grand worth of marital debt that was never split evenly. Do not trust her to have your best interest at heart. It honestly ends up looking like she was "paid off" or like attorneys and mediators are looking out for only one another. Don't let her RUSH you through mediation or rush you in reading your final paperwork and PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME that just because you pay her tons of money that she will do what she says she will. She will not read it with you or help you understand it. Especially if it is your first divorce you don't even KNOW what you do not KNOW. You would assume it is her job as the paid person to explain it to you but she won't. Lazy as the day is long or incompetent or numb to her own ruthlessness...she will not advocate for you or your children. You have to hold her accountable like a child AND STILL triple check the language before signing anything. Sadly, she takes advantage of war torn individuals who have been abused and are too caught up in fight /flight headspace to realize that they have fallen prey to someone who pretends to care. I honestly don't know how she or her people sleep at night. I ended up more angry and hurt over the injustice of her and her team than I even am upset at my x-husband. Consider that she does this to multiple innocent victims over a period of years FOR A LIVING all while smiling and giving lip service and agreeing to do things she never intends to do. Do NOT trust her. Just do yourself a favor and don't use her at all.

My divorce is contested which was discussed during the consultation, Laura was reluctant to address my request for relief or act in my best interest. I don't know if it was due to; trying to avoid confrontation, inexperience with complicated cases, or a simple matter of incompetence. I feel I was pushed to try mediation($), appear before magistrate($) when it was in my best interest to request a final hearing. Laura requested and received an additinonal sum before representing me in a motion for relief hearing filed by opposing counsel, which she lost when challenged by opposing counsel, costing me $1400 monthly. I was appalled to discover she didn't have any of my financial information to contest opposing counsel and she still didn't have my new address on record. Veterans please stay away from this attorney she is not familiar with military retirement/benefits or VA disability. DON'T be fooled by her military friendly website. So after doing basically nothing for $10K she filed a motion to be released of her attorney client contract and she actually won that case.
