Long story medium: Dan's approach is truly the perfect vibe for most people's style - he's not pushy, super casual and personable with a can-do attitude but balances that by NEVER dragging his feet and he never falls short of his promises. He made us feel comfortable and confident as first time buyers especially and we're happy to call him a friend now that this process is said and done without a hitch. And as an added bonus, in recently joining forces with Remy Weinstein at Golden Gate Sotheby's, he's gotten his perfect intense counterpart and they make an absolutely tremendous team; between the two of them your buying/selling process could literally go off with zero problems. Dan reached out to me on LinkedIn with a super thoughtful personalized message (drawing on common ground in some hobbies, interests, and alma mater) and as a salesperson myself, I can appreciate someone who's not cranking out the same copy-pasted crap to everyone. By the way, turns out Dan's entire approach is this way: tailored to you. I told him we were probably a year out from our home purchase and he said it's never too early to connect. At random points throughout the coming months, I'd ping him with questions about homes, and from time to time he'd send us a listing just to help him calibrate on what we're interested in -- this is a solid 10 months ahead of when I said I'd make him a penny. Then, a few months into the pandemic, we decided to accelerate our timeline. We reach out to Dan and basically a week into our search being serious, he tells us he's teaming up with this other great agent to continue to hone his skills but we'll get to keep working together. That agent partner he's working with now is Remy Weinstein - I'll keep this review a largely Dan-focused review but if you're wondering how we felt about Remy, check out or review of him as well. Spoiler alert, Remy is epic, and he and Dan are a DREAM TEAM together. Dan and Remy proceed to advise us with a no-BS, high integrity approach through the entire process - Dan took us on tours practically every weekend for weeks (and would probably never have gotten annoyed if it went on for months) and was incredibly accommodating. Just on a personal level we loved hanging out with Dan too, as a side note. And when we'd come close to an offer, Dan would share over disclosures in a timely manner, and Remy would hop into the process to ensure nothing fell through the cracks and that we were making an offer in our best interests. Every question we had, Dan was ready to answer. Evenings, weekends -- again, within reason as he sets boundaries -- Dan never made us feel like we were inconveniencing him. And when it came down to it, he'd tell us everything we needed to know about each neighborhood while upholding his duty as an agent to speak diplomatically on matters that veer into the subjective. He learned what we liked, what we did or didn't have tolerance for, and calibrated his answers to us accordingly. After several failed offers, fifth time around I believe, we made an offer on a house advised well by Dan and Remy, and the next morning our offer was accepted without counters. Mid-way through escrow, appraisal comes in above purchase price... in an arguably too-hot seller's market, we're walking into a super charming Berkeley hills property with tens of thousands in equity. We pick up keys tomorrow after what ended up a completely turbulence-free escrow. We couldn't have navigated it without Dan and Remy's help, and in the end of it all we not only have a home to call our own, but in my view, we have made a friend in Dan whose authenticity is such an asset both "on and off the field" so to speak. With or without Remy's help, Dan earns our highest recommendation, and for as long as Dan and Remy are a partnership (hopefully basically forever since they're the perfect venn diagram of similar values and different energies), everyone they work with will benefit from what simply has to be the best realtor duo in the Bay.
