The total bill for getting five stitches in my ankle was $11,879. Thankfully, I have insurance which paid the majority of the bill. However, these charges are beyond outrageous! How are places like this getting away with such ridiculous charges? Surgical trays are reusable so do they charge every person that they use the same surgical tray with $1350? Disgusting!

She talks with kindness to the patients and the families. She educates us as needed and we consider her our family now too! She loves her work and her patients and she does an amazing job of seeing to what you need. She is a dream of a Nurse. Miranda Gibson, RN, is in Restorative Therapy and is upbeat and cheerful. She makes my Aunt smile and coaxes her to do what she needs to do even on those days she doesnt really want to do it! Garrett, Head of Maintenance, is a very strong and sweet man that fixes whatever needs fixing and feeds my Aunts beloved birds for her every single time. These simple acts of kindness mean so much to us! Maria makes beautiful wreaths by hand that go on my Aunts door and the doors of others regularly. It makes her room feel like a welcoming place and makes our Aunt Sherry so happy! Chelsea in wound care does excellent work too. She notices every detail going on with my Aunt Sherry and no detail gets past her! She can explain it to you too, and I find that so very comforting. I advised her that I had 3 ultrasounds collected on my abdomen (external and internal) as I had pain from what I thought was a hernia. they found a mass in my uterus and a 3mm mass on my left kidney. I explained to her that I understand most holistic practices and know how I'd like to approach the issues. I wanted to talk those out with the dr, get her feedback or suggestions and have her monitor the progress. the upping last assured me that would not be an issue. I get to the appointment, pay and spent the next 45 minutes taking with the Dr who did nothing but assume diagnoses even when I said I didn't have certain things (I.e, sleep apnea, lymes disease). she would even write referrals after I said I knew I did not have these issues. I am a 42 year old woman, 5ft 10in, 165 pounds, very active, in the gym 6 days a week. I do not have a tongue tie, weight problem or sleep apnea. My focus is my uterus pain and my kidney. When I tried to talk to her about the issues, I was there for she let me know that she hasn't even looked at the ultrasound reports and wanted to refer me to have it done again. I told her if I was to have anything else done I would prefer an MRI so that we can get a better understanding of what was going on and she said she would would prefer that I just have an ultrasound done, external and internal. I explained again that I already had that done and it was a very in-depth report. She then left the room to go get the reports... They were not even in the file that she had in her hand. when she came back, I told her that I would like to do a parasite cleanse and also monitor my estrogen as I was estrogen dominan which could prompt the growth on my uterus. she said she would not do that and would prefer to look at all the other things that she had mentioned, and was not even concerned about the ultrasound reports that I had done as they may not be correct. She also told me I should get a pap smear...I asked why she would tell me that. She said "it is always good to have your routine check ups" nope. at this point I was intern upset and shut down. She never went into depth about anything concerning my estrogen dominance, my abdominal pain related to what they found on the ultrasound or even my kidney. She was very concerned with me having $2000 worth of referrals and blood work done for things I had already told her I did not need. There's more I could complain about but it just makes me mad. We are a single income family. I homeschool all three of my kids and don't have $500 to throw around so someone can scam me into seeing every friend dr they have for unrelated issues. I walked out of there with absolutely no advise, no attention to my concerns, and 5 referrals that I NEVER called on. However, I get spammed constantly from each one of these doctors offices that she wrote a referral to. They constantly call me, leave messages and text me trying to get me to set up appointments. I have never reached out to any of these doctors so I know she's gave them my contact info without my consent. I have never been spammed from so many doctors offices in my life! I am deeply disappointed....I thought I found someone that would help me through this unexpected health issues and I thought she would encourage and give me hope... honestly could cry every time I think about the $500 waste. this dr might be good for you if you don't know anything about holistic care or if you are new to this world but if you know then please don't waste your time, emotional energy or money.

The same day y'all! I honestly hadn't been home long from the visit. Also the experience inside could not have happened more smoothly or been more professional. I will be coming here from now on. I'm not going back to the other place I used for 5 years. MD Anderson wins. It was a much better experience all the way around. I will have all my future cancer screening done here.

My bill was outrageously expensive and I got a follow up unexpected bill. I'm going through a miscarriage. I came in for an ultrasound because UT Physicians downtown was booked for the week and they recommended a Memorial Hermann location because they share data/ patient information. This was the closest to me. My out of pocket for the ultrasound at UT Physicians was $50. Here it was $360. Apparently they bill like a hospital but still advertise like a convenient care center. Shady and predatory but unfortunately that's where the medical system is today. No one could explain why/ no one offered payment plans or financial assistance to someone clearly in distress about a $300 bill. Lots of staff laughing and joking behind the desk. I was so frustrated I laid into the front desk staff and a manager before realizing neither of them have any control about how the company bills patients. (Sorry, guys, rough day.) My mom convinced me to go back in because I really did need imaging. Made the decision to never come back after I got my ultrasound. On the way back to the room, though the ultrasound tech said something along the lines of "missed abortion, or what?" Ugh. She was just getting history I guess, but it was loudly in an area where other patients were. Also, when I told her I was in pain she said she had to push hard to get the right angles. Didn't feel reassured or taken care of. Sad because until this facility everyone I'd been to was really nice and professional. The icing on the cake was when I got another bill from some random radiology company for the *interpretation* of my ultrasound. That was another $133. Over $500 for a procedure that would have been $50 somewhere else AND I had a sh***y experience. Already took the survey they sent me so maybe they'll actually do something about it. Don't recommend either way.

This time felt different. I was honestly afraid. It was Friday, and I was flying out Monday for a keynote conference in Jacksonville. I needed help! She went above and beyond, sending more than I needed in pharmaceutical prescriptions to Walmart, with refills. Then she handed me her card, looked me in the eye, and said, "Now Toni, if you need anything else, you let me know, and we'll take good care of you." And I could tell she meant it. Today is Sunday, I feel better in my lungs, and cough, but I am now coughing up signs of infection from my lungs. With one quick call to Natalie in the office, she carefully noted my request for an antibiotic. Minutes later, she called me back to get the zip code of my hotel in Jacksonville so she could locate a nearby pharmacy. The doctor on call had my prescription sent there for pickup the next day when I arrive. Joanna took the time to look me in the eye and make me feel cared for. Natalie took the time on the phone to make sure I knew I was going to be okay. We need more caregivers who operate from their humanity as their greatest amenity in business. If I am ever back in Galveston, this is where I'm going. In fact, I'm holding onto their number. BTW -- when I asked Natalie what I owed for the phone consultation, she told me they were happy to help. WOW. I wish I could give them a million stars. I've been here twice in the past with okay service from the front while checking in so naturally I wanted to come back but todaaaay. Me or my family will never be returning! The saying the customer is always right still holds to the highest level of customer service, even if a customer is wrong there's a way to defuse a situation that the office stay doesn't understand. They would rather argue + be right! For that reason I'd rather drive further to know my family is going to be treated with kindness + respect from beginning to end. The drs here once you get passed the front desk were really really good I will say. I've had pleasant experiences with them, and the nurses we're extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. They need to implement better customer service skills in the ones that are at the front door and answering the phones so they can actually get people in their door if they would like to stay in business.
