While doing my morning run down the seawall, I tripped and fell on a raised part of the sidewalk, shredding my knees, elbow and hand pretty good. I knew I needed medical attention because I was bleeding quite a bit. The staff at Affinity Urgent Care got my wounds cleaned up and wrapped, and also gave me a tetanus shot as a precaution. Overall, I felt the service I received was friendly, professional and thorough. I was in town before a cruise. I made an appointment on their website I was seen promptly, I would go there again if the need arose.

I went to Affinity after 3 weeks of coughing and two days of the worst headache of my life, high fever, fatigue, shivering and sweats and a heart rate in the 130s. They tested me for Covid and flu, before even taking my vitals, and the NP told me "to pick my virus and rotate Motrin and Tylenol". Then they took my vitals and sent me on my way. I got in the car and just couldn't stop crying because I knew I was dangerously sick. I went to hospitality ER on the Seawall (it was a wonderful experience) and within 5 minutes I knew they would help me and I was in the right place.. Long story short hospitality sent me to UTMB via ambulance for severe pneumonia and suspected sepsis. I've been here two nights on IV antibiotics. Thank goodness I didn't pick my virus and keep taking Motrin and Tylenol. If you are truly ill save yourself the trip, and maybe even your heath! read more

I was there recently for a rapid Covid test for a cruise. The test I got when I left Seattle hadn't resulted yet and I was desperately trying to get a test to board the ship. I have to say, the staff felt cold and unfriendly but I was very pleased with how quick they got me in and out and how quickly my results came in. Thank you to the staff. Told me I didn't have a UTI. Ended up septic with a kidney infection 7 days later,. Even went back twice to them treating me like a crazy person begging for another culture of my urine (which was filled with blood). Male doctor gaslit me told me it was my period. Look you dumb POS, I am in my 30s and know EXACTLY when my period comes and what period blood looks like. I Almost died at the hands of NPs and doctors who don't give a sh** and went into this field for a paycheck. The system is broken and these clinic workers do NOT care. In fact most of them seem like narcissists who should've never ever ever gone into health care........I'm currently working with an attorney and Considering legal action. Also , forgot to add that the doctor was openly discussing taking someone out for drinks RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME in the waiting area, f your date your malpractice almost KILLED ME ... Ah, to be on vacation and feeling like crap. I spiked a fever the night we arrived and being that it's flu season, my husband said urgent care was our first stop on the first full day of our vacation. I arrived a few minutes after opening and was seen within about 30 minutes. Once I was called back into the room, the nurse did my flu swab and strep test and sent the doc back to see me. He casually sat on the desk and asked me about my symptoms. He listened to my lungs and then I said "if it's not the flu, I'd like a steroid shot." To my relief, he's response was "how about we give you one regardless so you can enjoy your vacation?" The nurse came back in and gave me the shot, before she was even finished the doc came back in and said "Influenza B" we'll get you some scripts to get you feeling better. Had we not done the steroid shot, we would have ended our vacation before it started. It gave me the energy to go down the beach and even sit in the hot tub for a few minutes. My friend had a dislocated shoulder, brought him here and the receptionist told us they didn't have any doctors that know how to relocate his shoulder. We had to call an ambulance instead. Absolutely unbelievable. If you need medical care, DO NOT go here. ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE TO GET TURNED DOWN BY AN URGENT CARE FACILITY. ABSOLUTELY GOES AGAINST A CITIZENS RIGHT TO HEALTHCARE. Visited this clinic today for assessment and treatment of dehydration. Front desk staff stated that they have in-house lab, nurses capable of stating an IV, and X-ray services. After collecting $75 copayment and insurance information my daughter was seen by PA, Lewis Landsman who without performing a medical screening exam or getting history and physical information referred us to an emergency room nearby. His only explanation was, "they have a full lab there and doctors that can give you the care that she needs". So, I asked him for a refund of copayment and he said, "of course, the front desk clerk will take care of that". Then the clerk at front, who apparently had already been instructed by him, told me that they would not refund our money because "patient was seen and this entitles us to change for services". Well, I have news for you. Texas Law is specific with regards to billable services and fraudulent activity warrants a full investigation and penalties to those who violate it. A full investigation is already in progress with the Texas Medical Board, NACI and State. I hope to stop this type of activity and protect the public. read more

Had a vaccine injection site reaction recently and my upper arm has been in terrible pain with almost no mobility ever since. Nurse practitioner told me I have carpal tunnel and to wear a wrist brace. So no I don't recommend. read more

I had a great experience at Affinity Immediate Care today. I made an appointment and was seen by the PA right on time. The PA was very helpful and listened carefully to my symptoms. He then made a thoughtful recommendation for a couple of treatments (x-Ray, breathing treatment) at the facility and some prescriptions. Whether you're a Galveston resident or a tourist from out of town this place is your best choice. I think you'll find the price is significantly lower than an emergency room. read more

I know the antibiotic that works for me the physician assistant that saw me prescribed something else instead. Twelve days later after I had taken the full script I was still in pain. I called to ask for a script of what I knew i needed the first time and was told I would have to pay another $95 dollar's to be seen. Wait, what? What exactly are the expecting to see? I'm taking azo standard because I'm in so much pain so looking at my urine is useless. It's not as if I was looking for a narcotic! I wanted a script for an antibiotic. My family was in a minor car wreck about a month ago. We took our daughter to Affinity to have her foot looked at. We were greeted with warm smiles as we arrived. The Provider that day was Rolinda Adams and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service we were given. The friendly staff there treated us so kindly and with so much compassion during the visit. I had a bad dog bite to the face and went to this urgent care for stitches. I was there for 5 minutes and told that they couldn't help me and that I needed to go somewhere else. They charged my insurance company $160, $75 of which was out of pocket for me and they did not treat me. I would not recommend this location to anyone else. read more

I paid my regular $5 co-pay and was stuck owning $585 to lab corp to an unnecessary blood work. 1 year later after trying to resolve this bill, and no one bothering to get back to me, me taking on the initiative, I've gotten no where. We were on a road trip through Texas and went to Affinity in Galveston after battling a cold for 10 days. I had held off on seeing a doctor because I was between health care plans. So as soon as I was notified that I was covered I came here. I called first and they informed me that I didn't need an appointment and could drop in and since I didn't have my. Insurance card that I would need to pay for the cost of the doctor appointment (approx $90) and the costs of any tests. This place was very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful and gave me the paperwork I would need to submit a claim to my new insurance company when I got home. The doctor was great, very patience and informative. Turned out that by the time I saw them my cold had turn into Bronchitis and was prescribed antibiotics, cough suppressant and other items. The doctor also made sure I was given a card that gave me discount on the medication when I picked them up at the pharmacy since I didn't have any insurance card with me. At first I was nervous about seeing a doctor I didn;t know but I would come here again since they were super helpful and I'm now on the mend. read more

I bent down in the dark to pick up my dog and hit the end of our sleigh bed which caused a gash in my eyebrow. Blood everywhere. I went to the affinity immediate care on 61st Street in Galveston. I thought they had M.D.'s on staff but they do not. A physician assistant assisted my cut. I was not given any written instructions for followup. I called and they sent me standard stuff for any ailment. Then I emailed with specific questions at least three times. NO REPLY. Do not go there. read more

I'm SO grateful for this clinic to be here!! So close to home and when I thought I would have to sit for hours like in an emergency room they had us in and out within no time!! The front desk lady was so polite and caring and even walked out to me to return my insurances cards. The nurse had us back very quickly and even went out of her way to find my pharmacy (mom and pop). The provider who seen us was AWESOME, Friendly and knowledgeable. We had no idea that the symptoms we had were actually a result of something else I would never have related it too!!! Thankful!! Thankful!!
