I have regularly used this butcher and I think it's clean and has a high standard. I enjoy the value for money trays which I can freeze and the excellent choice of the Sunday roast options. I have purchased beautiful fillets of beef for beef wellingtons for special occasions and cannot rate them more highly. All in all a great local butcher.

They specialize in game and the window is full of yummy looking homemade pies. I've yet to try one, but I'm betting they're delicious. The owners are really friendly and are diligently there, open early, every time I pop in to pick up sausages for a Saturday morning brunch. The sausages are really worth the trek up the hills...they have a brilliant variety-I highly recommend the chipolatas. In fact, they have everything you need for a really delicious breakfast...organic meat, bakery bread, free-range eggs and locally pressed apple juice....mmm, Archers is one of the establishments I miss most from my days living in Hanover. Every time I pop up to Archer's, there's a little queue of locals picking up milk or eggs, whilst enjoying a friendly chat with the proprietors. It's really refreshing to see an independent ethically-minded business being supported by its community!
