During this time, I reached out to the apartment complex and was told that it would be handled. It took almost 2 weeks to get it completed, it was suggested for a heater to be placed in my apartment temporarily and I have a dog. I was told I would not receive a discount on my rent because at one point I had to run emergency heat. Additionally, my toilet seat is broken, I sent it a maintenance request for a new toilet seat. I haven't heard from maintenance or anyone in the main office. This request was sent on April 1st, 2025. I live in a one bedroom apartment with one bathroom.

We decided on Aventine largely due to Peggy, the location and amenities offered. She made sure the apartment was in top shape and the maintenance staff are great as well. She went above and beyond assisting us with our decision. We feel we made the best decision for us. A maintenance worker openly admitted that the mold had been painted over after the previous tenants moved out, before I moved in. That alone is unacceptable. What makes this worse is that during the final walkthrough, management already had painters come in -- once again -- to paint over the mold instead of properly addressing it. Painting over mold is not a solution; it's a cover-up. It shows a complete lack of concern for tenant health and safety. Mold is not a cosmetic issue. It's a health hazard. The fact that this was knowingly concealed raises serious concerns about honesty, accountability, and basic standards of living. I trusted that this apartment was move-in ready and safe -- that trust was clearly misplaced. If you're considering living here, I strongly recommend asking very specific questions and documenting everything, because transparency is clearly not a priority.

Now we go on vacation and have a great time still but when it is time to go home we think - OH YEAH! - we GET to return to our apartment at the Cottages at Cades Cove and it is like living in a resort all the time! Everything we need is right there, with a "No Worries" guarantee! Yes, there are some minor problems to deal with, but in the 5 years we have been here, not one of our problems has been overlooked or ignored. We are definitely happy to call the Cottages our home.
