Awesome food truck. Small but interesting menu with authentic Philippine street food, fast/friendly service, reasonable prices, flavorful food, more than I could eat at lunch. Ordered the marinated pork loin and a side of lumpia - couldn't finish all the rice it was so much food. Service was fast, under 5 minutes, which many of the Tucson food trucks cannot match. The lumpia was perfectly crispy and decadent with grease. My pork was super tasty. One indicator I use is how long the flavor lasts in my mouth - I could still smell it on my breath when I got home at dinner. Not good news for the people around me, but good news for me :-) The pork was very tender and had only a minute amount of gristle. The lo mein it came with was excellent, with enough sauce on the noodles and veggies to make it interesting. I couldn't finish all the rice but it was good. I don't know how someone could eat one of the mult-meat platters at lunch and not fall asleep soon after. Give it a try! read more

Terrible just terrible. This is the food truck that goes on the base. The steak has clearly been sitting for hrs. (I can taste the stale water that has kept the steak warm. Tried out this first Filipino truck just this past week and man it was good. For 9.50, you get 2 types of grilled marinated tender meat, (chicken, steak or pork), rice, pancit and 2 Shanghai lumpia. Portions were big enough for two people to eat, so my dad and I shared it while The hubby got the one meat (pork) plate for 8.50 . I'm not gonna lie, I thought it was going to be dry but it wasn't. Tender and juicy, like I like em. For dessert they have Turon ,which is sweet rippened plantain with a sliver of jackfruit wrapped in eggroll wrapper and deep fried to a crisp. And you get 2 orders for a dollah... made me hollah! Needless to say, I will be a follower and a fan for this roving grill... They have your typical basic Filipino food. Try them out read more

Johnnys never disappoints! Checked them out again recently at a food truck fair and got the special for the day. Beef and baby bokchoy. Absolutely delicious! I love lumpia, but it's so time consuming to make and Johnny's lumpia is delicious and convenient for me! It's also reasonably priced you get 4 for $2 and producing lumpia can be almost a whole day task so it's worth it to me. Also lumpia isn't like other egg rolls, so it's going to be very skinny because that's one of the styles of it. The Turon was so delicious with the banana and jackfruit. It doesn't even need the sauce that you can get with it, it's pretty sweet on its own. His sweet chile sauce was soooooo good, sweet with a little kick at the end I loved it. Long, long ago in a place far from Tucson I graduated from high school at what was then Clark Air Base on the island of Luzon. I immediately ordered the Chicken Adobo platter. While I was waiting I talked to the owner about the Philippines and Clark Air Base. Turns out he is a Filipino-American Air Force Veteran. Tasty food that's full of flavor but not greasy. I got the mega grill with 3 kinds of meat: marinated beef, teriyaki chicken, and a slightly spicy pork. I also got the Adobo chicken which was excellent. The veggie fried rice is yummy and not blend. The lumpia that came with the meals was crunchy. Well I finally got to try it. I've eaten a lot of Filipino food over the years. This was NOT GOOD. I ordered the combo plate with all the meats. A order of chicken adobo. Pancit & lumpia sides. Nothing like true good Filipino food. Everything was heavy lime squeezed sour flavor. The lumpia wasn't bad. The portions were small for the price. Won't be going back. read more

I bugged him several times via FB Messenger, customers were asking when he'd be back, staff repeatedly saying how badly they missed him. Well, he's back and as great as ever. Holy moly! Came to the AZ beer house for a couple of drinks, Johnny's Philippine Grill showed up, and all of the patrons started ordering... It should've been our first sign. We ordered the chicken adobo, and steak plate. All of it was phenomenal, flavor extraordinary, definitely not something to be expected on the whim of an on the down low food truck order. Omg, what is this food? This is not Filipino food!! My wife is Filipino and this is by far not even close to Filipino food. The adobo is like soup! Looks like cheap meat like for a sandwich spreed. The lumpia is so skinny...looks like a number 2 pencil! The pancit has no flavor and no fresh vegetables or pork/ chicken. We spent $30 and didn't eat anything. Update....we took it home and our dog didn't eat the chicken. Even our dog has standers!! read more

I miss you guys! After the kitchen closed for construction at my place of work, we were blessed with a Myriad of food truck visits, but we only needed these guys! The food is delicious. Servicing size is much bigger than from other food trucks and the price is reasonable. Food is always consistent and the staff friendly. I enjoy their steak meal, often with extra pancit. If I could rate zero stars. I would. Not trying to be rude but the food was horrible. The adobo did not taste anything like adobo. Super salty. The lumpia was so tiny and had nothing in it. I wouldn't be so harsh but I paid $10 and the pictures looked nothing like what I got. read more
