I've never been more happy while eating! This place is sooo sooo good. The Quesobirria has my heart. Probably the best I've ever had! also service was great. I called in advance to see how long it would take to order and they actually answered. Not sure about anyone else but most food trucks I've been to don't have a phone number and if they do, they don't answer. Quick and amazing service! Perfect meal to end my visit here in Tucson.

    Quesabirria

Tried this place twice and no issues. I arrived 45 minutes before closing and ordered to go. Got home to eat burnt quesadillas and quesabirrias. I really wanted to bring them back so ask them if they would like to eat stuff this burnt. Definitely not okay. Owner is in there while they cook this stuff pay attention to your staff. Food is expensive come on do better and don't serve BURNT FOOD for almost $15!!!!

I've been craving some good Mexican food and this definitely hit the spot. I ordered the caramelo asada, the birriachan, and the quesobirrias with vichi. The caramelo hit the spot. The meat was cooked perfect and tender....dipped it in the vichi for a little extra. The birriachan was so full of perfectly tender meat and really flavorful broth. Topped it with a little onion and cilantro from their veggie and salsa bar. The real show stoppers were the quesobirrias though. The amount of meat and cheese that just oozed from these things....they really FILL them up! Great customer service and AMAZING food. I will definitely be going back and again!

Coming from NYC where birria taco trucks are known to be some of best in the states I had high expectations for this place and thankfully was not disappointed. The birria ramen was amazing--it's honestly all about the sauce and they do a superb job with it. And oh to the birria tacos with the birria sauce on the side (chef's kiss). The wait staff were so friendly and helpful. Yes, they go beyond the taco truck service and actually tend to you throughout your meal. We enjoyed it so much that I put in an extra order to go. If you are visiting and staying in downtown area, this was totally worth an out of the way ~$12 Lyft ride.

I had my eye on this spot for a while but it seemed every time I went to try it, it was closed lol but I finally got to try it and I was not disappointed! I actually went two days in a row because I just couldn't get enough. This is a taco truck set up but they have tables under shade as well as an AC blowing to keep their dine in guests cool. The staff was all friendly especially the woman who takes your order, she was very kind and helpful. They're prices are fair and the food is delicious! The birria ramen and the taco special were my favorite! I don't like cabeza so I ordered it with only birria which was amazing and the taco special has fried, crispy cheese and refried beans in the tortilla. It was loaded! I loved the green salsa, too. Overall this little spot is awesome. They are opened on limited days and limited hours so check that before making the trip.

My hubs suggested that we go to The Frida and see if we could get in. We drive over and guess what, we go lucky, must have been that everyone had a 4th of July hangover. We sat at the bar and couldn't be happier. Our server/bartender took great care of us, he offered us drinks, took our food order and made my hubby a really good Margarita, The Frida Margarita, he said it was bomb! I ordered a beer and it came with a chilled glass and lime wedge. We decided on the flautas and the mole enchiladas. Both fantastic, tasty and hearty! I got full with two enchiladas so I donated the third to my hubby, which he was super happy to eat. I have to say, the mole sauce was decadent and full of flavors. It really reminded me of my grandmas mole. It also left a delicious numbing (very slight) on my lips. Perfect balance of nutty, spicy, almost semi sweet goodness. Gorgeously prepared and looked almost too good to eat. Almost..... The place was full, we were still able to have a conversation. It was amazing. Will definitely be back to continue to enjoy the carefully curated menu. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed! This screams a great place to work and obviously enjoy. Well done La Frida! Well done!

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

Located in downtown Tucson, this iconic restaurant is full of character and beautifully decorated. We visited on a Saturday around 1 PM without a reservation and were told there would be a wait since the place was packed. They only have air conditioning in the indoor dining areas and basement, not on the outdoor patio. Luckily, we were seated in the basement, which turned out to be perfect. The service was commendable truly some of the sweetest and most attentive service we've experienced in a long time. We started with freshly made chips and salsa, which were an instant hit. For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. The drinks were excellent, with the Mangopeno being my favorite. But the real star of the meal was the tamale platter. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The vegan jackfruit taquitos were a bit too deep-fried for our liking and didn't quite compare to the incredible tamales. To finish, we shared a caramel flan, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The pricing was very reasonable, the service was exceptional, and the food was memorable. We will definitely be back again if only for those amazing tamales!

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
